Detailed Reviews
blue moon is gorgeous , the staff are extremely helpful. We stayed for 5 nights in the ocean view suite and was a perfect size for the 4 of us . Views were just stunning and peaceful. There is a lot to do in the area but if you are a family you need to give some thought as to how you are going to get around ,The hotel will help with any planning and will also rent scooters. The food is lovely and breakfast has plenty of choices for everyone . Plenty of nice restaurants in the area too who are also happy to pick you up and drop you back. We loved our stay and will most definitely return to blue moon.

We stayed in Blue Moon Villa during our 3 nights stay in Amed. The room, big suite with open bathroom, bedroom and balcony was very nice and good taken care of, you can choose from two pools plus one extra private one for guest in deluxe suites.
The breakfast is only ala cart, but you still can choose from enough options.
Just please be aware: motorbike, car or driver is needed to go anywhere, the Balinese taxi application Grab doesn’t work here

We have stayed at the Amed Blue Moon Villas several times now over several years. We go there really to relax and take it easy for awhile. The atmosphere is relaxing, peaceful, with lovely greenery. The accommodation is great with exquisite views across the bay. The meals are enjoyable. Often we see people from surrounding hotels coming to eat at Blue Moon. The Villas have a Lovely set of swimming pools, located such that you feel private and exclusive. We know the people so well now that work there. Most of the staff / team been there since we started going. Such lovely people. There are great scuba dives nearby or snorkelling. Blue Moon will likely recommend good quality diving business, Restaurants, massages, fishing and other local attractions or things to do.

Blue moon review
Blue star apartment
I think for £69 a night it’s fair to say I expect to find bedside tables and bedside lamps but neither were provided at this hotel.
No bedside tables or lamps
Tiny room
Mould and smell
Lots of Caterpillars in bathroom and bedroom and in bathtub and all over shower
Extremely Poor WiFi ( the WiFi next door is better which is a bit embarrassing for them! Their WiFi is atrocious
Don’t book a massage with the woman they recommend at the hotel. She’s untrained and the massage is rubbish
Hot water doesn’t last long in the shower
They have one room with a bathtub, Which I booed specifically bwcause I have a back injury. Sadly their hot water system isn’t good enough to create hot water for a bath. It just doesn’t fill up and turns to cold water very quickly. So mis advertising here and a huge disappointment for me on my birthday.
Be warned there is no grab in the area of Amed die to the local taxi drivers boycotting it because they want to over charge tourists . So I paid a private driver to get to town which is a 15 minute drive , I was charged 250,000 to get there and back, which is daylight robbery. There are no scooter taxis , no grab, no Gojek, so you are sadly at the whim of the mafia taxi services which led me to leave a day early as the hotel is nowhere near the town: it’s not within an easy walkable distance. I couldn’t wait to get back to an area of Bali where grab was available so I didn’t feel stranded or obliged to rent a scooter or spend a fortune on rip of taxis.
The food in the restaurant is good
Pool area is nice ( if small)
Gardens and ponds are stunning.
What really sells this place is the location. The views are beautiful as is the setting. However the price being charged is way over what it should be. The hotel is very tired. Bathrooms in particular. It smells of mould and is an inconvenient location not near the town. Not a stay I would repeat. If you don’t like creepy crawlies stay well away the hotel is covered in them.

Blue Moon Villas was simply perfect. We stayed 2 nights in the top level Blue Angel Penthouse before deciding to move across to the Villas next door(Blue Angel I think they were called)
Rooms are simply perfect, large, clean and have all the necessities required. Bathrooms were spacious, clean and outdoor yup setting.
Infinity Pools in front of villas were awesome overlooking the view of the ocean. We enjoyed the peace of Amed and this was the perfect backdrop
The staff are simply awesome. Eka, Suymeini, nannie, Ramos, Sekar, Putu made the stay even better. Nothing was too hard, always accommodated any requests always with a smile. Room staff, ground staff and the kitchen staff were lovely and friendly too. Special shout out to the kitchen who provided us with a special dinner of Mahi Mahi which we asked for. Superb feed
Restaurant- Komang John’s was fantastic with a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean.
Value for money - definitely. Best accomodation we stayed in on our 20 day trip.
If staying in Amed, give Blue Moon serious thought.
Special shout out to all the crew. We miss you already and hope to be back soon. Thanks!

The entire team from restaurant to housekeeping is giving the best to create a perfect customer experience👍. Food, especially the homemade cakes, is very good. Even the cats are happy and well fed at this place😊. Ienjoyed especially the great view from the pool over the sea. In the morning there are many fisher boats, amazing view!
Only downsite: it is a little bit far from the center with diving schools etc. so you better use a scooter when you stay here. I can fully recommend a stay here.

Great views, very well maintained cottages, clean and fresh rooms, and attentive staff. The wifi was out and I need to work, so the staff went out of their way in the pouring rain to get a new (good) wifi connection. Thanks for that, very much appreciated!

The hotel is well located: beautiful views of the Indian Ocean from the restaurant and pools.
We had 2 suites with "private" pool. In fact, the pool is common for 4 bedrooms, and directly overlooks the rooms. No privacy, then.
The rooms are small and outdated. The electricity and bathroom deserve major renovations.
The insulation is catastrophic. You can hear everything around as well as the road that passes the hotel. Guaranteed alarm clock from 5:30 in the morning!
However, the bedding is comfortable and everything is very clean.
The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is good, but more expensive than in other restaurants not far away.
Breakfast is good. However, we were charged a supplement for a coffee latte (instead of a coffee)! At the price of the rooms, I find it a bit petty but good.

We stayed in Amed and located ourselves out of the main town at the Blue Moon Villas. This was a excellent stay, our Villa was located on the edge of the cliff. The room was large with a very Balinese theme. The room has an awesome balcony overlooking the negative edge pool and 180 degree ocean views. The staff are excellent and very accommodating. The staff here excelled and really go out of their way in every possible way. The restaurant has a good menu with delightful food. Without a doubt this was our best stay in Bali

Hi, you need to request the angel deluxe ocean villa - this is a huge a room with balcony and overlooks ocean, has access to a private pool for the suites and is across the road from the main rooms. Hope this helps
Yes - directly from the garden there is access to the sea Down the stairs. That is however not for beginners.
The beach is just 10min walk away where snorkelling is amazing Right from the Beach.
Br Lars
The beach is very close 5min by walk. Easily accessible.
You can swim, you also can take a drink / meal at a very good restaurant (cheap).
Nobody on the beach, or very few
