My husband and I stayed in the bungalow at blue star in January. We did not have a booking but was lucky enough to get in there and enjoyed it so much that we stayed a few extra days. The accommodation is not anything fancy but the bed was comfortable, there was air conditioning and the shower had hot water...

If you are going to Amed keep in mind that unless you dive, there is nothing to do. Nothing but lie on a bed on the beach that is. And eat. And snorkel. The best beach to do this is the bay where blue star is. The best spot on this beach is out the front of blue star as...

Blue Star is simply incredible. It is one of those places that linger fondly in your memory long after you leave. It is not just the wonderful beach – only a few steps away, the amazing snorkelling, the simple spacious accommodation or the glorious reasonably priced food, it is the people that make Blue Star a stand out. Blue Star...

My friend and I came across Blue Star Cafe for lunch when we were out on our rented motorbike one day and liked it so much we went back the next night for dinner. The food was fresh, well cooked, nicely presented and best of all, cheap! I had the grilled tuna special with salad (40,000 rps), my friend had...

I have travelled to Bali maybe 50 times or more. This was my first trip to Amed. It is how places like Seminyak and Kuta use to be 25 years ago and long may it last. It has taken me by the heart as the number one spot in Bali, above Ubud, provided you are looking to rest up and...

We were actually booked to stay at Blue Star for five nights but because the snorkelling we came for was washed out with all the rain we only stayed for two. The owner, Illuh (sp?) was incredibly gracious and supportive of our decision. The bungalow is perfectly placed by the sea, with a fab cafe with gorgeous views. It is...

We stayed at the Blue Star for 6 nights in late Nov. early Dec. 2012. We were in the Bungalow that has a loft which would be great for a family. There is a large bed in the main room downstairs and two twins in the loft. Lovely staff, good breakfast, peaceful area (it was low season). The beach is...
