About to leave blue star and it has been awesome. Walk knee deep into the water and start snorkeling for amazing tropical aquarium experience. Beach busy during day with day trippers and at night they go away, so peaceful. Lovely staff. Am counting the days till I can return.
When we arrived, it looked nice. But when we were checking in, our bungalow was overbooked while we booked 6 months ago! They didn’t even tell us, but I will talk about that later. Then, they gave us a different room. We walked to the room and got a hot room without airco and only a van. Two beds were upstairs but the starway was very dangerous and the kids nearly fell everytime. The badroom was very small and the douche was not nice to use. We had ‘seaview’. The only thing we saw was a very, very small view of the sea. At the other side, where you entered the room, the hall was very dark and hot. When you looked down, you had a terrible view with many sounds. After an hour, we went to the reception and they said that the villa was overbooked. We instantly left, because staying…
What a wonderful experience to have met Iluh, Nengah, Emi, Darmi, Wayan, January, Widdyana, and all the rest, even the dog Achi.. they really do make you feel extremely welcome and a part of their little community. The blue star cafe and bungalows are really RIGHT on the beach, and in front of this place is what we thought to be the best spot for snorkeling (right off the shore). Black sand beach, fish and coral everywhere. WiFi is great all over here. Actually better than most of the hotels we stayed in. We went on a fishing trip with Nengah, caught some fish and saw the sun come up. Amazing! ❤️ When the big earthquake happened, wow, I cannot explain to you how these guys took care of us.. they got us together, checked everything was OK. And when the tsunami warning came…
The hotel is located near a beautiful beach, the rooms are big and clean (we had the family room with a balcony on the garden). The service is very friendly and the food in the restaurant is tasty. Do not hesitate to go there!
What is great about the Blue Star is how wonderfully welcoming and helpful the staff are. Iluh and her team treated us like family. When my daughter got sick, Iluh moved heaven and earth to help, driving her to the doctor late at night and coming to rub some aromatic oil into her stomach. She can also arrange any activities you want to do at a good price. The accommodation is clean and pleasant, the food is very good, and the location, right on the coral reef, is unbeatable. Foodwise, the menu is very large and do not miss the carrot and coconut soup, the coconut pancakes, and the homemade coconut ice cream. The snorkeling is the best in the area directly in front of the Blue Star. If you like snorkeling, relaxing on the beach, eating and drinking well, the Blue Star is…
