Stopped off here after snorkelling the Japanese Wreck for a bite to eat, and so pleased we did. Ordered a drink and food and then spent half an hour in the on site pool to wash off the salt water and chillax before being served our meals. The food was really tasty and authentic. So friendly and appreciative of our custom, views are amazing, would highly recommend.

After enjoying a memorable trip in 2011 we decided that another holiday at Eka Purnama cottages was long overdue. Far from the madding crowds of Kuta etc the Amed Coast has a much more relaxed vibe, perfect for getting away from it all. The hospitality offered at Eka Purnama by the owners George & Iluh as well as their staff is genuine & warm. They looked after us like we were family. They live on site & train their local staff personally to cook & clean to a very high standard. Excited to experience their new infinity pool we requested Cottage No 1 because of the stunning views to Lombok. As an added bonus it happens to be right beside the crystal clear pool where we spent most of our time. The cottages are well fitted out with fans & mosquito net over a very comfortable bed. The ensuite bathroom is very clean, roomy, has hot & cold water & flushing toilet. A day bed, little dressing table and small refrigerator complete the set up which has lounging chairs & table on the porch as well as a hammock & clothes rack. Tropical gardens are well cared for with frangipanis, palms, hibiscus & pretty bougainvillea throughout the terraced property. We found no need to leave Eka Purnama, there are board games & books to borrow. Sun lounges & bean bags by the pool also shady bamboo shelters to rest, sleep or read in. Breakfast is included in the room rate & we dined in their restaurant for lunch & dinner. Plenty to choose from on the Menu, the Fish Curry was delightful. Snorkelling gear is available & with a Japanese wreck directly below Eka Purnama a mere 20 metres from shore you can see an array of fish & colourful corals. Stunning sunrises could be viewed from my bed with Gunung Rinjani on Lombok silhouetted. Banyuning & all of the villages on the Amed coast are fishing villages with the beaches lined with Jukung their traditional craft. Every morning before dawn these fishermen leave to fish for a few hours returning around 7.30am to sort their catch and ready their nets for the next day. The sight of literally hundreds of boats returning with their sails up has to be seen to be appreciated. It was like a never ending flock of colourful butterflies as far as the eye could see. Eka Purnama can also organise tours, fishing charters & easy access to the Gilis via fast boat from Amed. Tickets are around 350,000 IDR each way & the journey only takes about 1 hour. We are already planning our next longer visit with a side trip to the Gilis.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights. The views are phenomenal. Straight out to the ocean and Lombok, directly above the Japanese Shipwreck. You can't get better. The infinity pool was refreshing and had ample comfortable seating to laze around in. The food: what can I say? It was amazing. Fresh, local produce transformed into delicious local food {there's Western food available, too; but we don't swing that way}... Our bungalow was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and hot water worked well. 2 chairs and a hammock on the balcony provided the perfect spot for us to retreat when we didn't feel like chatting in the restaurant or by the pool... The owners/family were such lovely people. Friendly, open, always willing to talk and help. We will be back!

Over 10 days in Bali, the restaurant here was the worst experience we had. Service was not friendly. We ordered prawns and each of us have been served only 4 small ones, the sauce was nothing more tan a chili and à shallot sliced together... really the price was not worth it. Moreover the waitress would have over priced us if I didn’t pay enough attention. And she was reluctant going to find the change when we paid. Don’t go there. There are so much good places everywhere...

Didn’t stay here - but stopped for lunch having come up to see Amed area for the day. Lovely restaurant / villas, in the most beautiful setting. Would so stay here if I ever returned to Bali. This stretch of coast is just stunning - South East Asia at its very best.
