Location: This is a well located hotel with most of other hotels in Kanyakumari just adjacent. This is probably one of the older hotels constructed in 90s\ early 2000s needing renovation. The location is prime\ old & hence not well planned for today's needs. The location is suitable for visiting the sunrise\ sunset points, boarding the boat to Vivekananda Rock, walk around with all the other visitors. Parking: Almost all the hotels (except a couple) here dont have enough parking. All cars were parked on the road & this one was not an exception. About 4 cars were parked & remaining they tried to find parking in other hotels. But, the place was very congested during visit that i wished i had not brought the car to this road. Good point was traffic was being cleared regularly by some of the other hotel staff. Rest assured any hotel in this area is having this challenge. The government parking facility near shore was always full despite its large size during both days of my stay. Rooms: The room brought in memories of hotels i had visited in 90s. There were not adequate pillows, improperly placed cupboard blocking light, old toilet provisions, had hooks in the room to hang dresses which is not seen nowadays, toilets with no exhaust & small window in toilet shows up on the corridor side. The intercom provided does not work. On day of visit, someone visiting terrace for viewing sunrise had damaged the solar panel & hence no hot water. That said, the room is adequate for a day or two stay considering the location advantage it comes with. A\C room needs to chosen if needed & TV provided. You will get towels & soap but no other accessories. Staff: The staff at reception were very supportive, They helped with baggage collection during check-in & check-out, parking the car, providing additional pillows on request, etc without any hesitation. Restaurant: There is no restaurant in this hotel. The area is surrounded by lot of "small" eateries within 200m but ALL were crowded during our time of visit. Couple of decent restaurants were always crowded that you cant step in. You will need to manage with available small eateries mostly. There is a Saravana Bhavan near the temple along the shore but no other chain of hotels. Walking is the BEST transport mode around. Overall: This is a average hotel for those visiting Kanyakumari as a tourist to visit the attractions without need for additional transportation. The pricing was way higher in comparison to facilities provided due to peak season.…
We using booking.com to reserve this hotel for 1200 rupees. Staff was wonderful and stay was ok with the price I paid. Nice location. Easy to walk for sunrise and monuments. Bathroom needed some small towels and shop.
Location is the only thing I liked about this hotel (ps. it's not sea facing), it's at a walkable distance to sunset point and ferry service to Vivekananda Rock Memorial, that's it..otherwise it has no such facilities to entice for..okay room!!
In the hotel reception there is formal Trip Advisor notice stating this hotel is the best among 21 others in the area. I struggle to see how this is the case - the other 20 must be pretty grim! Having stayed in 11 hotels during my trip across India, most of them budget, this hotel is at the the bottom of my list! The room had a decent enough bed, effective air conditioning, a short walk to the beach, and fast wifi. There is also a decent breakfast provided in the nextdoor restaurant. Other than that, the rest isn't great. The bathroom smelt, the view from the room was literally a brick wall (barely 30cm away), I had no hot water in the shower, the room was not cleaned during my two-night stay. It might have been one of the cheapest hotels in the area but given it's in a very touristy area, it wasn't that cheap, compared to other cities across south india.…
I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days with my family. Rooms are not very well kept. Bathroom is okay. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Minimal toilet accessories. Towels were not super clean. For the price, the hotel seems to fall behind in comfort and amenities. It is not a disastrous place to stay. But not spectacular either. Average and minimalistic at best. I am hoping they can improve upon room quality and bathrooms, as well as towels and linen provided to guests.
Location, Budgetwise it is a very good hotel at kanyakumari. It is very near to all important tourist spots of kanyakumari. The experience of stay in this hotel with our family was very enjoying. It can be a good choice for travelers to stay.
Think 100 times before booking @Hotel Rajam. We had confirmed booking with full payment in hotel temple city hotel. When we reached at hotel they shifted us in this hotel "Hotel Rajam" having bad smell, suffocation, damp room, during checking we denied but they sprayed room freshener over there. Stay was horrible, we did not sleep-opened main door over night for suffocation. We did not see sunrise also for this horrible stay
We were allotted a stinking room initially. We changed the room...and the sheets were soiled and not clean...the tap was leaking...and the AC remote was not working..we had to borrow the AC remote from neighbouring rooms...this is was the same situation for another family in another room..the parking facility is somewhere else...Not value for money...
The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff is very helpful, they take care of your daily needs and demand. The hotel is near by the bhagwati amman temple. The streat market is also very cheap and good with the good stuff.
The Hotel Rajam is located very near to Kanyakumari Railway Station. Walking distance from Kanyakumari Temple and sunrise point. We stayed here for 2 nights. Rooms are very spacious, clean and loaded with adequate furnitures. Bathrooms are clean and spacious. Staff behaviors are also cordial. Hotel Rajam offers room service food, but prices are bit on higher side. Numerous good restaurant are available nearby the hotel. Will definitely recommend anyone to stay here.
