It is a lovely property spread across several acres of lush greenery. We stayed in a 1-BR unit which had the feel of a small self contained apartment. The bedroom was spacious, the bed very comfortable, the toilets clean and well maintained, and finally a nice balcony. You are assured of being surrounded by nature regardless of whichever room you take. We had absolutely no reason to complain about anything.
Since it is a large property, the residential units are spread out and you need to be prepared to do some walking to get to the lobby or dining hall. They do have electric buggies going around, but you may need to wait for them. Since we enjoy walking, we made full use of this opportunity to admire the nature by going on foot.
It must be said that the location of the resort is another key factor that contributes to its beauty. You have a towering hill forming the backdrop on one side and the beautiful Pawna Lake on the other, thereby forming a majestic setting.
The only area of disappointment was the dining experience. The dining hall was not sufficiently big enough to accommodate the crowd. Peak time during breakfast and dinner was an abolute nightmare. Oftentimes, cutlery was not available, the food was not getting replenished soon enough, and the pre-mixed coffee served for breakfast was undrinkable. And to make matters worse there were flies buzzing all over the place.
But, in conclusion we had a wonderful and memorable stay at this resort. I would highly recommend it without any reservations.

A haven for lovely birds, creating a very pleasant ambience throughout the day.
Alas!
The sad & bothersome part being the mismanagement of Buggies, truly necessary specially for Sr. Citizens to commute from their rooms to mainly Restaurants, Happy Hub, Spa etc.
In our case, we were allocated room No. 2020, studio as booked by us (my wife and myself).
No doubt a very beautiful and spacious room with all necessities within.
The bad part being, it happened to be at the very end of the property.
This became a torture for us both every time when we desired to goto the Happy Hub, after calling for the buggy, we had to wait a minimum of 20 minutes; that too with innumerable calls made to the Reception, informing them that we were tired of waiting for the buggy. We found out that along the way, guests would stop the buggy coming to pick us up and make the driver turn around to go either to Happy Hub or Restaurants or elsewhere.
Result we Super Citizens would be left stranded.
My suggestion to overcome this:-
1. Increase number of buggies.
2. Post a security guard in the buggy called by Sr./Super Citizens to ensure that guests along the way don't get to change the route of the said buggy.
Request that this be implemented at the earliest.
Thank you

Best Compliments,

Location is very good and away from the noise and hustle of city. Very good to relax amidst the lap of nature.
Very nicely maintained and huge resort.
Rooms both 1BR and Studio were spacious.
The housekeeping staff is very prompt.
The buggy guys are very helpful.
A good place to get a break from city life and closer to Mumbai and Pune.
Bad things:
As soon as we entered the resort for check in, we had a very cold reception. This was at 2.30PM, around the official checkin time. There was just one person at the reception counter and the way we were treated was as if we had come there to stay for free. No botheration about guest waiting. Me and my family just stood there waiting to hear the checkin formalities. Not sure if they even offer welcome drinks, like the other CM resorts I have visited.
No drinking water in rooms. They say the tap water is potable water and fit for drinking directly. So stock up your own drinking water before visit.
Food is too pricey and of low quality. Especially breakfast is too bad. Spread is huge but quality is way too bad and they dont refill on time. No one even bothers to check if guests are enjoying the food. Food is just not good here.
CM should charge food as per quality and service standards. A blanket 5 star price for poor quality food and service is just daylight robbery.
There are no food outlets at least 10 kms around the resort. So be ready to be served at CM.
Some guests in groups turn out to be too noisy with kids running around the corridor midnight. I understand they want to have fun with family but not at the expense of others comfort.
You need your own vehicle as it is in a very isolated location. Once in, you cannot get out unless you have a vehicle engaged.
Last 10 kms of road leading o resort is narrow and in bad condition.

Resort is vast
Food is good
Staff is good
Rains are the best time to visit here given the green cover in the resort
Spa services was good
And the not so good points
Rooms and fixtures are quite dated and is in dire need for repairs
Given the vast property, the rooms are quite at a distance from the Restuarant which we walked most of the times except when it is heavily raining
Buggies take 10-15mins if guy want to wait for one
Our checkin was a complete chaos even after coming near to checkin time of 2pm. The front desk staff were merely doing key card distribution and all room allocation was done by some staff sitting in the inner rooms . Chaos is understandable given the number of people coming in but there should be some support to be given to the front end staff who seemed quite new and lost .
In the middle of the stay their system went for an upgrade and they had to forcibly checkout all the people. This is not all but all the people had to pay for the services used till today else it seems that the outstanding cannot be carried forward into the new system which was the most ridiculous reason I have ever heard . So there were fresh checkin done due to this and new key cards issued . This was bizarre . While the manager apologised and conveyed their helplessness but never seen such a thing happening in my lifetime of travel . Something for mahindra management to ponder too.

It is in the midst of hilly jungle, one can have a captivating arial view of the dam from the resort. The resort offers every facility that one can expect in a resort. Though the rooms are spreaded across the area but there are e-vehicles round the clock to transport you to and from your room, time to time.
The best part of this resort is the helping nature of the staffs. From reception to restaurant and maintenance to even security guards all are always ready to help you out and make your stay cherishing.
Our room's maintenance incharge Madam Usha was so helpful that it was highly praiseworthy. My son had forgotten his earphone and Usha had deposited that to the counter post our check out. Even during our stay frequently would check whether everything was alright, whether we needed any thing or any help.
Even at restaurant Mr. Raghavendra, one of the chefs were very helpful and understanding.
I must say, it is one of the top resorts of club Mahindra that I have ever visited.
Kudos to the team, keep it up.
Special Mention Goes out to Akhil from the Ripples Restaurant, who catered to all our requests with a smile and in double quick time.
We have been members since 2006 and have been enjoying the membership till date but our 6th visit to Tungi this time was thoroughly disappointing. The reason we gave 1 star I would explain as after experiencing superb hospitality only a couple months earlier at Club Mahindra Sherwood & Club Mahindra Coorg, our experience at Club Mahindra Tungi was very very bad.
1) You can't complain about the location it is beautiful but it also requires equally good people.
2) The check in was smooth but the welcoming smile and attitude was missing.
3) The restaurant staff was at its worst best as they were literally working as if they were serving a notice period.
4) The staff never bothered to enquire if anything was needed, the chef was hardly interested in enquiring about the needs , had heard some good reviews about him in some posts but this time it was missing.
I think they need an orientation from Sherwood & Coorg staff of Club Mahindra.
5) The food served was ok no food pairing, one lunch they served 3 variations of French Beans as if it was a French beans festival.
6) The only hospitality we experienced was intact in Mr.Datta & Mr.Nitin the buggy drivers and the housekeeping staff , didn't use the Happy Hub as after experiencing these things we didn't have the heart to go there.
I never thought I would ever write a bad review for Club Mahindra, after spending Rs.8904 and driving the treacherous 10 kms I was thoroughly disappointed, should have stayed home and watched some Netflix.
Keeping fingers crossed that this would be by 1st and last bad review of Club Mahindra.
"Take rooms in upper floors and closer to reception, else you have to wait for buggy or be ready for a 1.5 km walk."Read full review
