Stayed 2 nights in the Heritage Machan with my family. The machan was very spacious and had incredible views of the lush green forests that surround Lonavala. The best part of the heritage machan was the 'crows nest' which was a spiral staircase that leads all the way to the highest platform with 360 panoramic view of the hills. Since there was limited connectivity on mobile, it enhanced family bonding and helped detox from general urban life stresses. There is however a wifi available at a cost if you really do need it. I had gotten mixed reviews about the food before going to the Machan however when I got there, I can positively say that the food was outstanding and the buffet spread was vast! I was very impressed with the taste. Obviously there were a fair number of bugs in the room etc because we visited during the monsoon times and the Machan is literally located deep inside the forest, but some Odomos and a HIT spray should do the trick if you are overly worried about bugs. Overall the experience of staying here was peaceful and you leave with a relaxed and fresh mind. The GM Vikrant was very kind and made sure we were well looked after. Would definitely recommend this place for a short visit !

We stayed at The Machan Resort early September for 5 days, and our experience was just excellent! We came to rest, enjoy nature and spend time together in a peaceful and lush environment. And this is exactly what we found. The view from the Jungle Machan we stayed in was amazing and the atmosphere at the cabin and the whole resort was tranquil and relaxed. Everything has been thoughtfully built with dedication and love for nature and the (human) environment. You can feel that the owner has a strong philosophy which he has consistently applied throughout the whole project. This makes everything feel pleasantly harmonious and natural. The staff that took care of us was very professional and well-trained. Everyone was super attentive, kind and punctual. They really tried (and succeeded) giving us a good time! Don't expect classic 5 star luxury in terms of food, drinks, swimming pools and fancy stuff. The luxury is to be found in the beauty and richness of the nature, the warmness of the machans, the love and dedication that has been put into making this place feel like a paradise and the consistent kindness of the staff. And for this luxury I happily give 5 stars!

We a group of 3 couples all senior citizens checked in for an occasion but though the property is good but poor maintenance and lack of amenities does not go down well with Disconnect to connect. The location and patchy-roads are not fit for travellers of our age group. A nice quiet place for honeymooners but not for travelling in a group especially for relaxing or celebrating an occasion. Moreover NO telephonic connectivity and NO TV are a major drawback as you would definitely like to connect with your loved ones even on a vacation. The cottages are located at different levels and to move around without any golf cart facility is very difficult especially during the night and in a jungle surrounding. Food just ok with limited spread at breakfast. They have unnecessary created a hype by mentioning No accommodation available at Trip advisor because once you connect with them they will give various options. Only Starlight cottage is good otherwise Amby Valley is a better option to stay and enjoy with family or friends as they have numerous activities and dining options.

We stayed at Starlight 1 - this is the most premier cottage spread over 3 floors with a beautiful view, a hot pool & 2 rooms. Needs more maintenance in terms of fittings / fixtures (lights were not working in bathroom) before guests use. Its a longish walk so transporting luggage after check in, during rains, takes time. Availing room service is avoidable. The jungle bungalow is also a beautiful category of room. (no pool). The property is spread over 25 acres and has a lush green, foresty feel. The nature walk up to the sunset point is nice. Mr Babban who accompanied us is a store house of knowledge and was very informative. Enjoyed the experience! Food served in the dining room is well presented and wholesome. The GM Mr. Vikrant was very helpful... he and his team is doing their best to maintain the surrounding flora and fauna. Kudos! Did a foot reflexology at the Aranya Spa. it was good. The place is not very accessible for elders due to the lack of buggy/golf cart and its really spread out so pls keep this in mind. Best to just chill during your stay here as network can be sporadic.

We spend a night at the machan in the starlight room (the most premium) and paid 50k for a night. 2 couples and 2 kids. Major issues with the property: 1. A part close to main dining area is very unkempt and extremely smelly.. not expected from a 5 star property. 2. No alcohol is served on the property.. a major surprise 3. Food spread was minimal.. barely 5 to 6 dishes 4. The glass windows in the room were dirty.. the whole attraction of the room were the glass windows 5. Lousy service.. we visited in rainy season and property should had extra umbrellas. We had to wait for 45 min for an umbrella. 6. Extremely child unfriendly. Starlight is a 3 story building but the staircase is extremely narrow and high.. very unsafe even for the adults.. not climbable unless you are extremely fit 7. Dining place was about 500 meters. A decent walk for old people/ kids. They should have had golf carts for transfer. 8. Swimming pool is on the last floor. Two issues: No rest room on that floor.. one has to go to the main room if you want to use toilet; being wet, not a good idea. Also if you are ordering something, one has to climb 3 floors to avail the order.. a terrible experience. 9. There was a thumping noise the whole night...could not sleep well at all. 10. The main room sofa was dirty.. again not expected from such a high end property 11. No activities offered. Thats a bummer. Paying so much I expected these things to be taken care of.. for 50K/night, property is not worth it....Avoid

I would give this place 2 out of 5 ..The resort is full of natural beauty and forests all around. The main attraction here is the location and the jungle. However, the amount of money that you pay, the services are not worthwhile. The resort lacks warm hospitality by the staff. We had paid extra charges for the WIFI in the room and designated areas because the area does not have telephone/mobile network. So Rs.32,800 for 1 night stay for 4 (almost or higher than that of a 5 star hotel. Extra charges for the breakfast and rs.500-700 for wifi 2GB but I couldn't access the wifi at all!! When I brought it to the notice during checkout the reception lady said "thats why we don't encourage usage of wifi in the resort". If the wifi is not working, why are you charging the guests extra and then not providing the service. The food wasn't great too. Nonveg options were very limited to Egg curry and chicken curry. They kept running out of dessert every 15 mins and we were made to wait for the dessert twice. The breakfast closes is from 8.30am- 10 am. Again only eggs to order and chicken nuggets for nonveg. The taste of food was very average. The bathrooms inside the jungle plus machan had no privacy or even full length doors. The bath tub drain wasn't functional so it took hours to drain the water. The resort didnt provide returnable umbrellas/raincoats for guests despite it raining heavily..there was no provision for car parking and driver lounge. The drivers weren't even allowed to sleep in the car. All in all, great natural beauty in the resort but the service needs much improvement for the price they charge..wouldn't recommend this place for the price at all..the 2 stars for service are for the waiters in the restaurant and the towel decor provided when we requested something special for our newly married friends..

Our stay at The Machan was beyond fabulous. We did have initial hiccups but they seemed so trivial when compared to the experience we had. Our highlight was definitely the Jungle walk led by the very proficient Baban, a treasure house of deep rooted knowledge on everything regarding bio-diversity. My pro tip to the owners and management would be to utilise and share their wellness expertise by opening a center real soon. We had a wonderful time at both the starlight machan and jungle machan Kudos the the team and a special mention to the GM Mr Vikrant.

Overall a great stay. Only one issue is that the hotel should have notified that due to heavy rains certain activities eg. trail walk is not permitted. Also, in the brochure it was mentioned that for playing indoor games, playing cards, etc will be provided however when we called up the reception, we were told that they have stopped providing the same

Breakfast timming is 8:30am to 10:00am,we reached there 9:30 am,we have small kids which take time for us complete it on time, they just treatment like we are in hostel,it's 10:00am not more available, It felt us very bad. Breakfast option is very limited. Only South Indian course was there, person who don't want to eat,no option is there after paying so high money. I was not happy with this behaviour. We will found better option in this cost. Would not want to visit Machan again, also not recommend to any other. Also there is no option for kids, they get bored.

Avoid this property in Rains....as Mumbai rains are pretty severe and this one becomes worse given the forest range...one would be forced to stay in the room all throughtout given the rains... In room dining is limited to snacks and pizza...proper meal not there..so even in heavy rains u to have to walk down 10-15mins to reach the restaurant...so have your hot food all wet and completely drenched as even the umbrella is useless there given the severe wind velocity.... Staff is limited...when we checked in no one guided us to the restaruant...in heavy rains we struggled to locate the dining area...so be mentally prepared to be on your own once u reach... Activity wise winter is good..u can do trekking or bird watching or enjoy camp fire...but in July-Sept phase...nothing is possible there...
