We booked on hotels.com app when we arrived they said no online bookings and made us ring hotels to get a refund. That took 30mins to resolve. They wouldn't even give us the number for hotels to call at 1st and I had to tell the guy to just cooperatate with us please! The beds were the worst beds I have ever slept on. Rock hard and woke us feeling battered and in massive back pain. Have stayed in over 100 hotels on our travels. This rates at the worse. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
I wish If I can give it 0 or negative Stars. Me and my friend unfortunately booked this so called hotel today on 9th August 2019. This place should not be even considered as a lodge. Around 8pm we checked in and at the time of check in they took all the money for one night. No one came for luggage where we entered. The Room we got was very small and stinky. I asked for room freshner, but didn’t get that. Then I asked for wifi Password, they gave but it wasn’t working. I asked about it, nothing happened. Then I tried to watch TV, it wasn’t working. I asked at reception, they said a guy will come and fix it. Till 11pm no one appeared for the same. Then Around 9:30 pm I asked for a jug of hot water for medical purposes. They got me a jug full of stinky red coloured don’t know what but they consider it water at 10pm. I asked to change it and it never came back. Waiting for that I felt asleep as I am not well. Then suddenly Around 11:30pm the electricity of our room stopped working then I had to go to the reception to call them, one of them came but couldn’t do anything, then I requested them to change the room, they got us a room on 1st floor. We were settled in the previous room. I asked them to get us a room nearby our room they said not possible, go to 1st floor. Then I said at least get us a source of light so that we can arrange and take our all belongings from that room, No reaction from Their side they just kept on talking to each other in their native language and laughing with each other. Then some how we managed to get our belongings. Then when we reached the lift, it wasn’t working, out of frustration I said this is so unprofessional, you guys should at least help us to take our luggage to our next room. Unapologetically They just kept on laughing and talking to Each other in their native language. It’s raining outside and we don’t have any option to leave this place before morning. I highly recommend, please never book this place ever. Staff is extremely unprofessional. They just don’t know how to run a hospitality business. Also, some please suggest what should a customer do in such condition? …
Here is my booking info for verification. *Hotel name*: OYO 1890 A J Park *Invoice no.*: FSPV4937 *Check-in*: 2019-06-26 *Check-out*: 2019-06-29 I simply wanted to give this information to the management of OYO because I think it’s important for them to know about my experience. Since their email review system only let’s me post a 1-5 star rating with no explanation, I feel I must post this here so that they might actually see it and take it seriously. Last year (September) I used OYO for this same hotel, and paid on arrival. Please know that last year’s experience was good overall. This year (June) I booked the same one, and paid in advance when I booked it. First Issue: This time, when I checked in, they told me I’d have to move the next day. That is really annoying to have to move rooms so I was already somewhat annoyed. But then I understood why they wanted to move me: There were stains all over the walls, big holes in the ceiling, stains on pillows and sheets, holes in sheets, WiFi was absolutely terrible (it basically doesn’t work on the ground floor unless you’re in the lobby), little insect cocoons were hanging from the bathroom ceiling, and the towel which was clearly supposed to be white was brownish. But then I never even got moved. Nobody said anything to me about it again. Main Issue: I realized that the company I was visiting on this trip was out of station and would require 4+ hours of travel each day, so I wanted to cancel my last day of OYO and shift to a new hotel so that I could be closer to my business meetings. I went to the front desk and they literally couldn’t do ANYTHING to help me. They couldn’t even CALL someone for me or provide me with a number to call. Nothing! (What is the purpose of the front desk of a hotel?) They simply assured me of great customer service on the OYO app. I talked to TWO different people on the OYO Whatsapp channel. Even though what I needed was VERY simple, they each made me re-explain my issue multiple times and they weren’t understanding. It seemed like they weren’t even reading what I said. Once they finally seemed to understand, they all told me “I raised an escalation regarding your concern to our relevant team, they will get back to you very soon and provides you the best resolution.” Each of them told me the same thing, and over 36 hours I never got a call from anyone!! The time I tried calling OYO, they simply told me the same thing and assured a call back. It never came!! Of course, in September when I hadn’t paid my amount yet, I received at least 8 phone calls from OYO. It seems that I shouldn’t pay OYO any money in the future to get good customer service - if I’ve already paid the full amount, they don’t care about me anymore! Even when I tried to check out at the front desk, they couldn’t do anything. NOBODY at OYO has the power to do anything to help with anything. No cancellations, no phone calls, no refunds, nothing. So I paid for an extra day at the hotel even though I told FAR in advance that I needed to leave early. Even when I tried using the app to cancel automatically (since nobody was capable of helping me), it wouldn’t work. The app showed my ‘open issue’ (which was NEVER resolved), and below I was able to click “I wish to check-out early/late.” Then, it gave me 3 options: “1. I wish to modify my booking. 2. I wish to check out early. 3. I wish to check out late.” I clicked the second option and the screen told me this, but there was nothing else to click on!! No options to actually cancel. “In case you decide to shorten your booking post the check-in date, you will be charged for the next 24 hours after the official cancellation. Money for the remaining nights will be refunded.” Of course, this would have been a GREAT option since I knew far in advance…but how to do it??????? All of that said, this hotel has great food and the people are very nice. The AC works great and the location is good. Just don’t expect ANY customer service at all. And all of the issues I described above. If you are OYO management and you are reading this, please contact me and give me a refund on my last day!! And please note these flaws in your system.…
Rooms door auto lock was broken to which we requested the staff to change they denied and told us to use the latch. Rooms were not clean, the intercom was covered with dust. When we asked for extra pillows they said that why do you need it and denied to provide it . Slow service and when complained about it they said we are under staff and you need to manage it. Towels were torn. In breakfast the chutney served was watery. No taste. Even the breakfast was cold and extreme slow service. Horrible management. If I could I would have given th hotel negative rating.
I had stayed there for 1 day along with family in Feb. They have 2 ACs in some of the room and its a must in alleppey weather. Had found linen to be not upto the mark. I had booked 1 room for 3 adults and to my surprise the extra bed they provided was a foldable hard sofa. Bathrooms were not very clean either. What i liked about the place is they have excellent north indian food which we thoroughly enjoyed. I would suggest do eat there once but for accommodation i am not so sure
