The 13 cottage style buildings are well spaced from each other, all looking in different directions so there’s a good feel of privacy. Our ‘cottage’ (No3) had a huge uncluttered room with antique furniture and effective air conditioning. Twice daily room service. From our veranda we could see trees, wildlife, the river, and the beach through more trees. Apart from...

We booked through i-escape and by accident we booked 2 nights instead of one. We arrived to be shoved a bill which they had already put on my credit card without my consent. When we tried to explain what had happened they were extremely unhelpful and did not want to help us out one bit. The actual grounds are nice...

After reading some terrible reviews of The Beach at Pollethai, frankly my boyfriend and I were expecting the worst. But when we were met with huge beaming smiles and saw the beautiful green surroundings against the backdrop of a stunning picture postcard secluded beach, we breathed a sigh of relief. We were taken to our bungalow to find it was...

After a 5 night stay at Beach at Pollethai in early January I can only underline the negative reviews. Beach at Pollethai is shamelessly overpriced and far from offering 5-star luxury, staff is friendly individually but badly trained, food is boring and – most important of all: The owner (who is also running the Old Courtyard in Kochi by the...

I felt compelled to add my review after seeing the recent negative ones. I stayed for a short visit in January and had a very nice stay. There is not much going on in Mararikulum itself so you should only visit if you are looking for a restful peaceful stay. The locals are predominately fisherman and as this is Kerala...

We had a similar experience to another reviewer on this site - relegated to the "romantic" cottage no. 13 due to a block booking by a large, well-connected group. We actually had the pleasure of seeing the sewage pipes replaced during our stay since the place had been constructed shabbily and in an obvious hurry. The management was appalingly nonchalant...

We booked this for a quite getaway after a busy week in Cochin. First impressions were good - despite being promised a free upgrade we understood they didn't have any available. The grounds are lovely. The actual villas are beautiful, there are only 12 - so it is very peaceful. The only problem in the villa's are hot water will...

Luxurious accommodation with a matching price tag. If you want to splurge a little, consider this hotel. Although management seems a little disorganized, this establishment provides private villas that are well spaced out over meticulously-maintained grounds that include a large pool, and separate breakfast and lunch/dinner areas with good food. We would suggest more vegetable variety as every lunch and...

Beach at Pollethai is an absolutely beautiful resort - UNLESS you are relagated to cottage no.13. ... Despite having reserved a garden villa 10 months earlier, a large (and considerably wealthier) party had tried to block book later in the year so without any consultation we were put in what I can only describe as a hut on the beach....

The location and property is faboulous with the lovely beach in front and teh river running through the resort. Its hidden away from the main cities, towns and traffic. The beach is one of the cleanest around and hardly any crowd. Since there are only a few cottages you get a feeling of personalised service as opposed to the big...
