This is Indian hospitality at its finest. The staff is so warm and friendly and I felt so looked after in my time here. The hotel is beautiful, every touch is so thoughtful and elegant. The bed was incredibly comfortable, I ended up sleeping great at night and taking daily naps. Lovely hotel pool and nice showers in the room. Both the cafe downstairs and the restaurant upstairs were lovely and the food was excellent. I just cannot say enough about the staff though. They were just the warmest, friendliest, most caring and genuine people in a country full of them. They arranged my trip through the back waters and the on-site massage was also heavenly. I would definitely come back and stay here again, and longer next time. Thank you Raheem Residency for making my trip so special!
We had booked a last few days here to be beside the sea and enjoy a bit of relaxation after travelling around. We were in one of the 4 old colonial rooms which were very spacious, with big high beds ( stools provided to get into bed!,). The rooms are all furnished in old dark coloured traditional wood and quite dark but this helped keep the temperature down. The only negative point was with very high ceilings and control of mosquitoes was difficult and provision of a net might have been helpful. This is the only place we were bitten despite staying on the back waters, in plantations etc. The pool was small but clean with plenty of beds and good towels. We ate meals in the hotel as choice was varied and prices very reasonable plus they had a public bar next door which was busy with locals and also good value. Unlike many places we have encountered there seemed to be very few staff around at any given point in time but this did not detract from our stay. Unfortunately parallel to the front of the hotel and almost directly above it is a brand new flyover which will become a major road and will therefore probably be both noisy and add to air pollution. At the time of staying (Feb 2020) the date of opening was not clear but this, I am sure will have a detrimental effect on this lovely old style hotel. The staff we saw were lovely and helpful and we enjoyed our 3 nights there. The beach is directly opposite the hotel and is very large, cleaner than I had read in previous reviews, the sea was warm but I only paddled and not many people appeared to be swimming when we visited. It is a popular place for locals at sunset and we enjoyed walking to a beach bar, Cafe Catamaran for an evening drink (no alcohol served there though) to watch the sunset.…
I stayed here for four nights, and I had a great stay. The room was spacious, had some charm and the a/c was brilliant (a must in India). The breakfast was basic but various options and was fine. The restaurant for dinner was busy every night, and the food good. I did not use the pool but a lovely area. I cannot compare to other places, but this is clean, safe and has a lovely charm to it. Location is excellent as 20m from the beach, and easy access to everything else. I have read comments about the staff being rude, but I did not find that to be the case.
We spent 3 nights at Raheem Residency. Very quiet, the speed road is not active, and they don’t work on It. Résidence de charme indeed. Beautiful furnitures. Swimming pool nice and very clean. Good restaurant, correct prices. Des bières et du vin aussi, moins cher cependant au bar à côté de l’hôtel. Ne comptez pas aller vous baigner à la mer.
The hotel has nice theme and is comfortable. The place was clean with basic amenities. Right opposite the beach. The rooms on the beach side are noisy as there is constant flow of traffic on the main road. It would be nice to see hotel use more environment-friendly quality local products and be more active with recycling and moving to carbon-negative. Also, include some vegan options.
Seemed a nice hotel but we went there just for lunch because it overlooked the beach and had open air dining. The service was quick, the food was good, and overall we felt we had made an excellent choice.
Five of us went there, ordered fries, one more starter, coffee, noodles, some main course. One the person serving us was pathetic, attitude was bad. Everything took just ages to get to our table, food quality was okay / fine, I will not recommend this place to anyone looking to visit the beach. Many many more great places just few meters away.
This is old world charm in modern era. This hotel is 2 decades old, and many of famous Indian & french politicians stayed in 19th century. The history of this hotel is very old and the reception (on request) have shown the history book written on this hotel and renovation pics of around 50 years old. They have a small pool in which you can relax or go to the beach which is hardly 50 meters away from the property. The food is so good and mouth watering . They do not have buffet in breakfast but 1 dish from the menu, which is sufficient for a normal diet. In dinner they have al-cart and a must try dish will be pompfret fish cooked banana leaf in traditional kerala spices. This property is having 4 or 5 rooms ,which are big , having teak wood furniture bed, table, dressing table etc which are antique. 1 of the room is having bath tub as well and is very big. They have a homley feeling as a room next to pool and have open varandah where you can lay down relax and read some books. Toiletries are normal. Overall if you want to feel the heritage, this is the only place where you can feel it.…
We didn't stay at the hotel, but came here several times for meals. The food was always nice, the menu is quite large and the service is very good. The setting is nice in the outside area and has a relaxed feel.
Lovely heritage hotel full of character. The staff are the greatest asset. Rooms are full of character. The restaurant is excellent with a good menu. Breakfast a little limited. Nice pool that is private. A flyover has just been completed to the front of the hotel. It was not in operation at the time of our visit and did not spoil anything.
