Mr. Vinith and Mrs. Deepa Vinith the most kind and lovely hosts. Ayanas Homestay is their home situated on a picturesque backwaters island in Countryside Alleppey. One of the most unique and beautiful homes I've stayed in my 12+ years of traveling India. The hosts themselves are well travelled globe trotters. Our 2 nights stay was well looked after. The home-cooked meals, fresh seafood, the calming waters. Life was indeed good. The Homestay has friendly pets, chickens, goats in the backyard. Bagi the pup is all the more happy to keep you company. In case you get bored, pick a kayak and wade yourself through the backwaters greeting friendly fishermen and hords of ducks. All that said Ayanas should be on your bucket list for sure. Its a place which leaves you with a warmth of a home and care of a family. Special thanks to the Co-host Mr. Ranjit for being there always a call away. The ferry uncle who was kind and patient to pick and drop us of all our very early and very late hours. Our love to the two Kids Niranjan and Gundiii :) Until our paths cross again. Thank you. Note : The island is a trash free zone. Please make proper arrangements to carry out your trash back to mainland while checking out.…
Nice rooms, beautiful peaceful area and friendly host We had a nice evening walk thru the village with a discussion about the plants used in the area followed by a pole boat float back to the homestay at sunset. Very much enjoyed my overnight stay with my Intrepid group here
Enjoyed my night at this home stay as part of an Intrepid tour. Our host was very entertaining and the accommodation is lovely. The home cooked food was very ‘tasty’ (our host’s favourite word) and the location is beautiful.
I stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour. Arrived and returned by boat which was a joy in itself. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the food was amazing. Guests were made to feel very welcome by hosts Deepa and Vinit. Vinit's father was thoroughly entertaining during an afternoon walking tour and a boat trip to get ice-cream. The sunset was instagram worthy and waking up early with a chai on the deck overlooking the canal is something else. I would go back here in a heartbeat. Loved it!
Stayed here with an Intrepid tour. An amazing arrival to this fantastic homestay by boat. Surrounded by the backwaters on one side and rice fields on the other. So peaceful. Spotlessly clean. Amazing hostess Deepa and her husband Vinit, who was also our tour guide and his parents. The food was the best I have had in my 6 weeks in India. All home cooked with fresh ingredients . A truly fascinating place so beautiful.
This is a very relaxing homestay, in a beautiful location. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed beautiful home-cooked food at dinner and breakfast, all of which was explained to us so we knew exactly what was in each dish. It is great to arrive and leave by boat.
We reached this homestay by boat. It is an amazing place in the middle of the fields next to the canal. The room was very clean, the bed was good and the food was homemade. I felt very welcome and enjoyed my stay.
I went there to get respite from the world's worst traffic and city . Reached there early morning and found the owner to be very attentive , caring and friendly . The location was perfect , one side is the backwater where you can see many boats passing by and other side the lush green paddy fields . Food was a bit expensive in the homestay but nevertheless very tasty . You need to inform in advance if you want the breakfast and lunch. Since the homestay is on island all supply comes from mainland and need go there to get groceries . Also take back all the trash or bottles you take along .... i liked these eco-friendly qualities of the host and island . Evenings and morning are serene and pure bliss ... weather can be hot in summers .
What a beautiful house with beautiful owners/hosts. We loved staying at Ayana’s. The food is cooked by the family with each dish introduced to you so you know how they make it. We were treated with a fun boat ride (as part of our tour) with a guided walk to the small village. House is is very comfortable and wifi available for a small cost. There’s a water purifier onsite so you can fill up your bottles for free. The best thing is it’s a plastic free home - any waste you bring, you must take back.
As it transpired this accommodation was owned and operated by the parents of our Intrepid guide. A great segue for the near conclusion of our Southern India tour meeting and being entertained by the family of our guide on Xmas Day! We were welcomed rather like family than house guests. Great food. Spotlessly clean rooms, hot water, full flushing toilet, comfortable bed and great view out to the river. Peaceful and homely with great hosts! Highly recommended :)
