Great breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, etc. Big family room with 4 beds. Clean and comfortable. They stored our luggage for free and made all travel arrangements to us to have their vehicle, driver and visit a wonderful guesthouse in the mountains near Munnar. No extra charge. Also ovely garden with caged birds nesr the beach. First class hospitality!

Shameer and his team hosts his guests very nicely. After 2 nights in South Canal GH, we started our stay in India with Ajish, one of the 3 drivers :an excellent way to start discovering south India. We back in Alleppey, we stayed 11 nights and felt as at home : Rooms are clean and confortable, thanks to Bindu. Breakfeast are excellent and mix indian / western style : thanks to Shammeer who is also an excellent cook ! For this reason, we took diner at the GH several evenings.If you speak french, ask Shameer advices from Alain, the french co-owner, they will organize trips the way you want.If you need a taxi-cab, drivers are often available, but if you need to go 10 or 20 kms from Alleppey, Shameer will manage the trip with a tuk-tuk driver. Beach is 300 m from the GH, so we often got there in the morning. Many things to do by yourself all around, such as visiting the lighthouse, very close to the GH or go to an ayurvedic massage/visit. We'll come back, for sure !!…

Stayed for two nights late November, 2016. My room was in the older building and was comfortable. I would suggest requesting a room in the newer building as it seemed a bit more updated and was away from the main road. Great location as it was close to the beach and the lighthouse. Staff were excellent and very helpful booking a back water day trip, offering suggestions about what to see and do, arranging transportation, and letting me pay by credit card because of the currency situation in November. I ate both evening meals at the hotel and they were outstanding, easily as good or better than a restaurant! Breakfasts were also huge and high quality.

best part alappuzha trip. We went to alappuzha as a photography trip and selecting this place was the best decision we made location: near to beach/lighthouse , easily accessible first look : very clean and a beautiful garden with a small fish pound. Staff: very helpful , friendly : they arrange 2 cycle fr us to roam around. room: big clean will be my 1st choice fr my next trip

The place was easy to find---just tell the driver it is near the lighthouse. Staff were welcoming. The bed was comfortable, wifi was a bit spotty but overall, probably ok. Breakfast upstairs on the terrace was lovely and the omelette and black coffee were especially appreciated. The beach is about five minutes away---easy walking. A couple of good restaurants nearby. Easy to get tuk-tuk rides when you are leaving. Very helpful and professional staff. I definitely would stay there again.

a nice place to be, good location near the beach, a bit far from restaurants but you can get food from local stores; very helpful staff, nice and available; too bad the rooms don't have a view but some of them will soon!

Friendly and helpful staff, hotel is walking distance to the beach where you can find several restaurants Very good breakfast Rooms are spacious but basic comfort and poor design but the kindness of the staff is worth it without any hesitation!

We stayed here for 1 night, the room was clean & spacious, the wifi worked well downstairs, the location was very good close to the beach, but the best part was the helpful friendly staff. We had a train to catch at 7am & they don't usually start serving breakfast until 7.30am, but they prepared toast, chai, bananas, pineapple & watermelon for us to have at 6.30am before we left for the train, they also flagged us down a tuk tuk to the train station. This was all very helpful & was all free of charge, would definitely stay here again!

We rocked up late last night without a booking and the owner showed us the rooms. All were simple and clean although smelt musty, and bedsheets were, probably from lack of use. We were the only ones staying there, probably due to it being low season. The room we stayed in had a clean bathroom with a very good shower! You could choose between ac or just fan. Owner was very accommodating and made a filling breakfast. Although their cats were pestering after food! He also informed us of bike hire, which we used instead of getting tuktuks and explored Alleppey. Very handy. Wifi was the quickest we've experienced in India so far - top marks for that. So near to Alleppey beach, walking distance, and close to the train station. Ideal spot. Value for money!!!

It is a very nice place where the landlord will do all what he can for you. He can organise a very nice trip on the backwaters. He cooks very well Kerala specialties. Just an advice, take a room in the small house or a room in the big house who is on the street side.
