Venice castle is the home stay of your dreams It is ideally located in the very heart of the town. Yet, Venice castle is cut off from the din and bustle of the town by wooded surroundings that lends an ambiance of the country side. The home stay is set in large of lush green plants, landscaped premises and a well mowed lawn with garden lights.Peace and alms prevails over the place which is broken only with the chiming of soft bells from the nearby temple, the chirruping of birds or the playful whistling of the squirrels in the tree.
Used homestay for the first time and was skeptical. But as soon as we reached venice castle from kovalam after a long taxi journey suffering from travel sickness, the hostess Binu was so welcoming ,felt like home. The room on the first floor was clean, comfortable ,good ac. Bathroom was clean with good hotwater. Morning breakfast was good both traditional dishes and toast and eggs.Akil always there to look after your needs and Mary the grandmother incharge of kitchen very helpful.would recommend venice castle to anyone who would love to stay In homely atmosphere.

In February we stayed here for 2 nights, and we loved every minute of it. We had two big, airy and spotlessly clean rooms with comfy beds, proper blankets and white linen. The bathrooms were big, had hot water and fluffy, white towels. Breakfast was served in the main building and was really delicious. The owners, Binu and her cheerful and friendly family as well as the smiling and witty grandmother, made our stay a full success. Should we ever return to Alleppey, this is the place where we will go! This homestay really is a first-class place, and it is within walking distance to the boat jetty, a "wine and beer shop" (!) and the center.

I only stayed here for one night after my overnight houseboat trip and was up very early to go back to the airport the next day but for the few short hours I was here I was the perfect place to be. Nothing was too much trouble. I was offered breakfast when I arrived even though breakfast had finished and even though I was up at 4.30am I was still offered tea and toast. There is real family atmosphere here with all generations helping out. The real added bonus is the 8 week old Labrador puppies they have ..... adorable. My hosts also helped me arrange a sunset Kayak tour of the backwaters which is probably my favourite thing I did in Kerala. I definite must place to stay if passing through Alleppey.

Stayed two nights at this clean, comfortable home. Excellent home cooked breakfast served by humble family members. Except for difficulty in locating the home (sign board on cross street was missing because of construction of a new wall), we enjoyed our stay at Venice Castle.

I left yesterday and loved it. Yes the rooms are basic but they’re very clean, the AC worked well and was super quiet, the water was hot and the flush on the toilet was the most powerful flush ever! The location is good, just a few hundred metres from the bus station and the starting point of the Kollam public ferry. But what stands this above is the service. They’re all just SO lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. When I left Akil got a tuk tuk for me, came with me to the ferry, carried my rucksack. Paid for the rickshaw, spoke to the ferry captain for advice on my onward journey to Varkala; put my bag onboard and then gave me a hug and refused a tip!!! I mean - seriously, that’s what they’re all like. Grandma gets involved with the lovely breakfast and the food is damn good and Binu was super helpful organizing a shikara for me (6 & 1/2 hours is enough IMO) They’re lovely people and deserve your business. Go! …

This homestay is an absolute gem, and I loved my time there. I spent two nights at Venice Castle and was so sad to say goodbye! The whole family including Akhil and Sreya are friendly, welcoming and super helpful. They helped organised a river cruise, an excellent half day sightseeing with tuk tuk driver Kabeer, plus shared some good restaurant recommendations. Their home is equally lovely - spacious rooms, power shower - not to mention the most delicious breakfast. I really enjoyed spending time chatting with them all and their genuine commitment to ensuring their guests have an amazing stay simply shines through. It really felt like a home from home and I can’t recommend Venice Castle enough.

We had a fantastic stay in Venice Castle in Alleppey. The family is so sweet and helped us with everything we would ask for! The breakfast is the best and everything is freshly prepared(The juice is amazing). The family helped us with ordering tuk tuk, booking of a houseboat stay etc. We booked a week in Alleppey - but we decided to leave before as we found out that we would like to see Munnar as well. Even leaving before the reservation had ended the family would not let us pay for the full booking(We felt a bit bad as we really enjoyed the stay and we really wanted to pay for the full stay even though leaving sooner.) In total this is the most amazing homestay experience we have had and you really feel welcomed, loved and carred for! We can't recommend this enough!!

Extremely neat & clean rooms . The place is strategically located. very close to the KSRTC Bust station & the boat Jetty. Close to good restaurants. Extremely flexible management , always ready to help . Not at all money minded. They put service before anything else. Away from the hassles of the town ,but right in the town. If you need to experience a typical Kerala household, this is the place for you.

Lovely homestay where nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and hospitable. Conveniently located near to the boat jetty for day tours on the backwaters. The family arranged a boat tour for us, tuk tuk to take us to the beach and our onward transfer to Kochi. Everything ran like clockwork and a nice breakfast to top it off. Would definitely recommend Venice Castle.

An extremely welcoming place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. It is a family run business and is very clean and well maintained. The location is down a lane from a main road and is very convenient to shops etc. They made recommendations for trips and booked us a boat ride then a sightseeing tuktuk to get us to Kochi. We enjoyed our stay there and would thoroughly recommend it.
