The location and the facilities were nice. We found the food a bit underwhelming though. As a Malayali, I didn't find the food to be genuine but more of an imitation of Malayali food. When we reached the resort and ordered lunch, we were told that we had pre book meals, no one informed us about this before we came. Porotta ordered during dinner was quite terrible. However the food is well cooked and hygienic, just low on taste. The location, however, is beautiful. The beach was clean and safe.

What a wonderful place! We, a small group from Switzerland, unfortunately only stayed at Adad Turtle Beach for two days. The place, the accommodation and the food are perfect and leave nothing to be desired! The spacious and well-furnished rooms in the bungalows are clean and practical despite their age. The food is varied, very well prepared and fresh. There is a generous menu for lunch, and dinner is served in the form of a wonderful and varied buffet with traditional dishes. For us Swiss, hygiene is absolutely no problem. The spa offer is very extensive and perfect. We visited various Ayurveda treatments. The outdoor area, which borders directly on the sea, is beautifully laid out and perfectly maintained. You can simply linger here and enjoy the peace and quiet. The pool is clean and invites you to linger. Swimming in the sea is very possible for swimmers. The beach slopes rather steeply. On the beach, the work of the local fishermen can be observed well. In the early morning and evening there are stray dogs on the beach, which also pollute the beach. We would like to thank the Abad team for the wonderful stay. We would be happy to recommend the Abad.

Amazing place, good ambeience, scenic premises with direct access to private beach. The rooms and property were clean and you could always see staff engaged in cleaning activities with is a great thumbs up.
The staff was courteous, prompt and always assisted our requests with a smile.
One star less because of veg food options. We had booked with breakfast and dunner. Thought breakfast had sufficient veg options, dinner was not that great. The dinner catered to foreign tourists and the mininal veg options were very bland. Also (unlike other hotels I have visited) there was no demarkation in veg and non veg sections and all were arranged in a single continuous line. There was also a live non veg barbeque counter and obviously no veg option on live counter. So it you are non-vegetarian, go ahead and book this property. For veg, still book the rooms and try to have meals outside. You will still enjoy the place.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a spacious cottage set in beautiful gardens amongst many butterflies..the hotel was an oasis of peace and calm after our hectic tour. (We actually liked a tree growing in the semi-outdoors bathroom, even though it was warm in there with no air/con). There is a large swimming pool and the beach is vast, with the security man and lifeguard (both lovely gentlemen) on duty to advise about the conditions for swimming and safety. Everywhere was kept very clean and tidy. All the staff were so polite and kind, they are truly a credit to the company.
The food was first class and plentiful, being freshly cooked off an extensive a’la carte menu; although there was an occasion where a large buffet was laid out too, which was also very good. The restaurant service was excellent as all the staff were very attentive and helpful, we dare not name them all in fear of leaving someone out! We also enjoyed the pleasant teatime at ~5 pm, where fresh tea and coffee is served off an antique cart in the gardens, along with some snacks. So from arrival at the hotel being greeted with flower garlands and an efficient check-in, to sadly having to leave (although being very grateful for being allowed to have our room till early afternoon for our evening flight back to the UK) this hotel made the perfect relaxing end to our memorable trip in India.

Abad Turtle Beach is a beautifully landscaped hotel with large, lovely grounds. The gardens are meticulously maintained and contain numerous flowers, butterflies, hammocks and swings. Facilities include a large swimming pool with numerous sunbeds, a spa, badminton, table tennis and volleyball court.
All the cottages have beautiful locations and are well maintained. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and respond immediately to all requests.
I used the spa for a 90 minute deep tissue massage which was fabulous.
The restaurant runs a buffet service at breakfast and evening meal. These have q long time slot and a wide choice of great food. There is also complementary tea / coffee and snack at 5pm.
Outside these times, an a la carte menu operates for ordering lunch and afternoon snacks and drinks.
The beautiful beach is a 5 minute walk away and has soft sand. The waves are suitable for paddling and long walks but I would not recommend swimming in the sea for young children as the waves are quite large with strong currents.

Today I am extremely happy because I visited abad turtle beach marai. Guests appreciate the comfortable accommodations, which feature traditional Kerala architecture and modern amenities. The rooms are well-maintained, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring.
Dining at the resort is a highlight, with a menu that showcases delicious local cuisine, including fresh seafood and traditional Kerala dishes. The on-site restaurant creates a warm atmosphere for enjoying meals with views of the surrounding beauty.
The friendly and attentive staff enhance the overall experience, ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests.
While Abad Turtle Beach Resort may not have the extensive facilities of larger resorts, its charm, focus on sustainability, and dedication to providing a relaxing experience make it a great choice for travelers seeking tranquility in a beautiful coastal setting.

Sleep quality is ok, bathrooms are smelly, the buffet is good with variety, staff service is slow, food finishes on the buffet n takes time to refill. Rooms are scattered. The beach is clean accessible n very enjoyable, at high tide avoid getting into the sea. Prices are steep in comparison to stay n food quality.

We stayed at Abad Turtle Beach at Mararikulam from August 6th to 8th 2024. Everything went perfectly from the pickups at Alleppey railway station to the ambience, the welcoming and attentive staff, the facilities and the excellent food. The activity hall was large and the staff served us our dinners there; this included a barbecue on one of the nights. The resort is large and the rooms are spread out over the area, but buggies were just a phone call away. Alleppey railway station is a 30 minute drive. Not all trains stop at Mararikulam railway station, though for those who alight there can get an auto for the 10 minute ride to the resort.

Have just returned from the most idyllic 2 weeks at the resort. Feel refreshed and ready to tackle the coming year. A big thank you to Ratheesh and his team for helping us settle into our stay. They were only to helpful to advise and address any queries regarding external visits and also how the team set up an unexpected Valentines Day evening meal for guests The bungalows were kept spotless daily by Anita and her amazing team. The ground staff worked tirelessly to keep the gardens immaculate including the pool area. The food was fantastic and special thanks to the catering staff including Sumesh, Bibin, Shameer and Deepesh who could not do enough to ensure we were well looked after. Looking forward to our return in 2025
