Absolutely amazing 5 bedroom home on the banks of Lake Vembanad with easy access to water activities like kayaking, temples, and beaches a short drive away. Caretakers are exceptional. The food they cooked was impressive to say the least. Every meal was delicious. We've been trying to recreate their delicacies since we got back! They factored in our preferences for the food but also gave good suggestions themselves, bought things we needed, gave us good suggestions on things to do, and even took us to the nearby beach in their vehicle. The property itself has nice touches like swings, a swimming pool, relaxing balcony and so on that make the stay quite pleasurable. Rooms are well kept, homey and the beds are comfortable. One sees beautiful birds around the property all day. Highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back in the future!…
Enjoyed the stay with family. Suresh and Sunil did an amazong job in arranging and cooking authentic Kerala dishes. Perfect location with Vembanadu lake and Pathiramanal Island right infront of you. Started our day with beautiful sunrise from the lake. Above all thanks to the owner Ken who has been very much welcoming from the begining to make sure that we are comfortable throughout our stay.
This five bedroom property overlooking the Vembanad Lake is the perfect place for those who want to shrug off their tensions, put their feet up, and REEELLLAAAXXXX! While they have facilities for boating and kayaking, we chose to spend our time lazing around, playing in the pool and on the swing, enjoying cups of tea, coffee and traditional snacks. The beds are so comfortable that you wouldnt want to get out of them, but you will, because that amazing view at sunrise will beckon you invitingly. I cannot end this without speaking about the hospitality. Ken made me comfortable from the time I first spoke to him about booking the property and continued to enquire about our needs throughout the stay, from faraway Bangalore. At the property, Suresh (the caretaker) and Suni (the cook) pampered us by anticipating our requests and dishing out some delicious fare - that amazing duck roast was the highlight of my trip. I had casually mentioned to Ken that my birthday falls on the day of checkout. It was heartwarming to see that they had taken the trouble to get me a birthday cake (its been ages since I blew out a birthday candle). We were a very happy family of 5 as we returned from our holiday!…
We stayed for a day at Backwater Rhapsody with our family during a weekend in August. We were looking for a place that faced the backwaters, had a pool and was spacious enough to accommodate our group of 8. The photos of this place were just amazing. From the point I started discussions with Ken about the stay, I knew we were going to be very well looked after. He was very very proactive and he even went to lengths to give us a detailed set of instructions to his property which I haven't received before anyone. All thw reviews about this place raved about the in-house chefs dishes and those reviews were true to its words! The view is amazing, the rooms are spacious, there is a beautiful pool overlooking the backwaters , a beautiful lawn area once again facing the backwaters and an in-house chef who cooks mouth watering dishes. What more could you ask for!! Highly recommended this to anyone looking for a peaceful stay near the backwaters. Thanks Ken and team for making our stay memorable:)…
It was really a nice experience staying with my family at the resort with good facilities and friendly staff to coordinate the activities and the amazing food. I would surely recommend the resort and enjoyed our stay thoroughly
Such a blissful experience. Comfortable and Homely, placed right at the backwaters. The place is aesthetically done and the food is to die for! We hogged on Karimeen, biryani, kappa biryani, duck, etc. The cook is so passionate about cooking that he doesn't leave any stone unturned even when it comes to presentation! Staff is friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.
Excellant place to stay, nice view of the lake, food was just amazing, excellent.staff were polite.A memorable holiay.i would say it's a 100 percent must stay in this property for family n friends especially with children .I would definitely want to visit again.
Tucked away in a corner of Alleppey, on the banks of the Vembanad lake the stay at the house was pure bliss for us. We were a group of 9 with families and bachelors. There are 5 rooms in total with one of them being a suite. The most delightful parts of the property are the first floor balcony and the lawn which overlooks the lake giving an enchanting view of the backwaters. The pool is not the biggest but can easily accommodate 8-10 people. It is well maintained and clean. The house is also opposite to Patiramanal Island which is worth a trip to and is also a bird sanctuary. Suresh was there to welcome us. The usual cook was away, and the person who came instead was also awesome. The cook was happy to showcase his skills, with some frozen food we had brought and rest that was prepared there. The cost of food was also very reasonable. All sorts of activities are available on site like boating Kayaking etc and the costs are very reasonable and done by trained people. I would truly suggest to tryout some water activities. Most boats can pick you up right from the property and the kayaking to Patiramanal Island was well worth!!…
Stepping out and seeing the backwaters was indeed breathtakingly beautiful. It’s serene and calm, being the perfect escape from the busy city life. Staff there is very welcoming and warm. We had the most amazing experience and Pradeep’s cooking is a must try! We left with our hearts and tummy full! :)
Staying true to its name The Backwater Rhapsody is truly a blissful blend of the charming backwaters & serene skies with a dash of generous hospitality. Tucked away in a tranquil corner of Alleppey, the property is situated right on the banks of the Vembanad lake overlooking the ‘Pathiramanal Island’. We were a family of 6, with 2 kids and had the full house for ourselves. The 2 rooms downstairs leading to a lawn & open sit out, takes you to a touching distance of the lake. There are 3 rooms on top and the most delightful part of the property being the balcony which overlooks the lake giving an enchanting view of the backwaters. The most exotic places become beautiful only if you feel welcomed and this is where Suresh & Pradeep (the cook) lifts the standards to delightful levels. The cook trying to showcase his culinary skills was a norm throughout our stay with seafood being among his specialities. Having said that had some scrumptious vegan food as well, poori sabji, veg kurma, veg meals being some of them. Not to forget the fruit punches & snacks which regularly came our way. All sort of boat rides including speed boats (if you need some adrenaline rush) can be arranged with pick up right from the property!. As the twilight sets in, you can see fishermen sprawl their nets wide in hope of the best catch. We indeed had some fishermen come right to the property to sell us some freshly caught fish. The kids had a ball with some live fishing and some splashing by the pool. Did hear there’s a bird sanctuary nearby as well which we couldn’t visit as I was unfortunately working! With remote working gaining so much prominence you can set your workstation on the balcony and focus into your laptop, while the setting sun on the horizon and the passing boats paints a gorgeous scene in the background. Especially if you’re a large group, would highly recommend this place to have the best of both the worlds (the facilities of a most contemporary property with the warmth & freedom of a home stay) Sharing some pics from our stay, though we couldn’t take too many but hope these would suffice to paint a picture. Happy staying at the Rhapsody folks, Cheers…
