The Pamba Heritage -a most perfect blend of old world charm and modern amenities. The antique wooden structures "Ara" and "Nilavara" which were originally used for storing grains have been restored for modern living. This is the home away from home, which is sandwiched between the silver cascading Pamba River on the western side, and emerald carpeted paddy fields on the eastern side.

Rajeev, the host, is a real gentleman, friendly, laid back and caring about you having a good time.
This is not a hotel, but anything you would like, your host will try and provide or organize. Rajeevs family have owned the heritage part of the building, with it's timber beamed rooms, since they built it 110 years ago. He added a new building, 5 yrs ago, for himself and some of his family downstairs, and upstairs beautiful balcony guest room and apartment.
All rooms face the beautiful Pamba River, with peaceful passing houseboats, and Rajeev will discuss any rentals you want on the river, and organize them efficiently. The food is beautifully cooked, including lovely desserts, great coffee and breakfast ( if you want Western style breakfast just ask, nothing is troublesome). He's very proud of local knowledge, will offer you genuine local walk/ nearby village, amazing cathedral etc. Or just chill on the heavenly hammocks in the Riverside garden. Great food, great host, lovely comfortable Riverside accommodation....just a heavenly homestay, for which I will cherish the memories, and long to return!

We had a great experience at the 100 plus year old Pamba Heritage Villa which had a fantastic direct view to the Pamba review. The relaxing villa ambience is quite tranquil and serene surrounded by a stunning garden. The 100 year olus old rooms feature antiques and personal touches with pristine condition. The food served had a wide variety of Kerala cuisine especially the seafood. and felt like home food. Next day. went for a day boat cruise on the Pampa river and had a good time exploring the local culture and food..
Uniqueness - Besides the heritage villa, there’s nothing better than jumping into the Pampa river water on a hot, sweltering day. The river makes you feel instantly better and it adds to the holiday feeling , certainty a refreshing break!
Rajeev (the owner) and his staff services were extremely friendly and excellent as he went on extra mile to cater our requests.
Overall, the Timeless, old world and charming , vintage villa and its surrounding evokes Nostalgia!

A traditional kerala style homestay on the banks of the Pamba river.
We were 3 families with kids and hence had the whole property to ourselves.
A pleasant stay i would say. Lot of space for kids to run around and 3 hammocks to relax.
Activities- badminton , carrom board and cycling were provided, boating was arranged.
Food- Home cooked kerala style food according to our choice was made.Spice level was adjusted according to our tastes. Snacks and eatables according to our needs were provided.
On the whole we were happy with our choice of place.
.
The approach road is a bit narrow so those who are travelling with big cars can find it tricky. We had a kia seletos and ford ecosport and we managed. There is parking space in the compound.
They hv ac in all rooms.
Mosquito repellants were provided but would suggest carrying a roll on or mosquito repellant cream as an added protection when one is outdoors.
Ask mr. rajiv to send the location as the google map location was wrong.
Suggestions:
Maintainence work required in the room as the wood is very old.
Kettle and coffee /tea sachets can be provided.( we did mention this when we were leaving and Mr. Rajiv mentioned that they have it but had forgotten to place it in the dining room)

Stayed 2 nights from 13 Feb 2020. Had never stayed in a Homestay and didn't really know what to expect. We were the only guests on the first night and a couple from the Netherlands came on the second night. The rooms are in the garden of a large house owned by a family. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. Room was well supplied with all we needed and were heritage with the use of local wood. The shower is roofless.. Some of the rooms are in the process of being renovated but this did not impact at all on our stay. meals are taken in a room in the garden and are vegetarian unless otherwise requested through a set menu. The homestay is accessed by a very narrow lane through rice fields but once there and sitting on the verandah you look over the river and watch the rice boats sail past....very soothing. We spent a day on a boat cruising the backwaters which was a highlight of our trip and were dropped back to our hotel by boat..

It was an excellent decision to choose Pamba Heritage for our yearly gathering. Nine of us- school mates enjoyed the hospitality of Rajeev and Pamba team. A serine beutiful location with a vast courtyard facing Pamba river and the property is well maintained to sink with the serenity. A peaceful stay to remember.

During my visit through F5 Escapes in Nov'22, I found this 110 year old Property very comfortable, relaxing, well maintained and serene!
It's location around paddy fields and with a direct view of scenic backwaters adds to the tranquility one experiences! The beautiful garden attracts varied species of birds and their morning melodies are even blissful!
Mr Rajeev, a wonderful host, friendly and helpful, ensured more than comfortable stay and arranged amazing Kerala cuisines on request - (Puttu n kadala curry, Appam, dal pasayam were really delicious and must try when here!). Staff was prompt and took care of our requirements.
Beautiful memories here that would be cherished for lifetime!

I loved my stay at Rajeev’s villa. The room was traditional and a delight. The welcome was wonderful and the food was great. Rajeev organised some outings including a solo boat trip around the Kerala backwaters. The boat trip was inexpensive and very enjoyable; I was collected and delivered back to a mooring at the Villa. Altogether a memorable stay and an excellent experience! Thank you

Great two day stay which will last far longer as happy memories. Beautiful buildings with long family history. The heritage rooms have dark timber panelling and bathrooms open to the sky! All facing river with terrace and gorgeous gardens for communal use. The new building has balcony view rooms and think an apartment to rent above these. Cooking is amazing and all meals are explained too, we loved the traditional keralan cuisine. Rajeev is a friendly efficient owner and host. Organised us trips on a boat and to a lovely famous church nearby. We cannot recommend highly enough - both the friendliness of our host and as a gorgeous place to chill out by the everchanging view of boats and village life on the pamba river.

We checked into the Pamba Heritage ,airport pick up arranged by our Host Rajiv ,
on Friday evening and stayed until Monday
Though we checked in way past the lunch time we were treated to a delicious meal and a traditional jaggery dal payasam . Rajiv, our gracious host was there to greet us show us to our room which was so beautiful and smelt wonderful . The villa in which we were housed was clean and spacious the balconies overlooked the river ,sparkling waters , the gently splashing of water against the banks and the pleasant whirring of the houseboat engines the large orange sun dipping into the landscape and the morning wake up by the in house rooster made our day very interesting and something we cherish . Delicious Breakfasts , fabulous tasty lunches and yummy dinners ,endless teas in between , the delicious snacks and we sure were spoilt for choice . We took long walks even late evenings . Totally safe . Rajiv arranged a shikara for us to navigate the backwaters and watch life unfold along the banks . Rajiv has a good team Benu , Rupali and Roma lovely staff who smiles their way into your heart .now how can I end this review without mentioning Casper ,Rajiv’s four legged furry canine who in his own way shows you that he cares for you . You can walk by the oh so green paddy fields and catch the ducks splashing themselves in the water . Enjoy a game of badminton or hammock your afternoons away watching the sparkling river . Wonderful time and memorable too .

It was my first visit to Pamba Heritage Villa, and I was floored with the beautiful setting alongside the River Pamba and lush green surroundings. Our host, Rajeev Thomas, was truly professional and was keen to ensure that the guests felt at home and cared for.
The property itself is over 100 years old, but it is beautifully maintained and has most of the necessary amenities, including a modern bathroom, AC, comfortable bed and pillows. The rooms are quite spacious for 2 people.
The dining area is set at the end of the resort, overlooking the river. I would suggest that the dining area is spread across the lush lawns, as the food often gets cold by the time it is delivered to the dining area. Upon our request, Rajeev agreed to serve our food on the lawns and the food was fresh and delicious (typical Kerala cuisine). Perhaps the current dining area can be used for Barbeques, etc.
The ride on the speedboat was also a good experience and there are a multitude of activities at the Villa, from Badminton, Kayaking, Speedboat, Biking or just hiking along the river.
The approach road to the Villa is narrow, but can fit an Innova size vehicle quite easily. For those driving to the villa, parking is arranged nearby at another property, but it is safe and secure.
Rajeev recommends a pick up by speedboat for his guests.
The property is pet friendly and out pet dog felt truly at home.
Once the sun sets, the place becomes quite humid as there is very little wind in the evenings, and I would request the host to consider setting up some fans so that the guests can enjoy sitting outside on the lawns.
Mosquitoes are an issue, given the significant amount of greenery, so please ensure you carry a spray or mosquito cream.
Overall, it is a beautiful place and one can simply sit along the river banks and enjoy the movement of house boats and other boats, ferrying people, etc.
I had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting the property again soon.
