Butterfly cruise, Allepey - Hey SiriAt the time of booking the vendor said it’s a luxury category boat. We reached Allepey around 10 in the morning and the owner was delaying to give us entry on the boat. After several requests entry was given that too on deluxe category boat and the boat was super dirty and there were cob webs around. We asked him to change the boat or issue refund. The owner was not present and asked us to move to some other boat that was shared category and again deluxe. There were people for day cruise and the experience of having a boat for our own use was totally killed. Also, ACs were not allowed to be on till 8 in the evening inspite of paying for luxury category boat. When the time to switch on the AC came - we had to change 3 rooms as there was a short circuit in the rooms. Food offered for dinner and Bfast was stale. Our anniversary experience was pathetic on the boat. The owner didn’t bother to answer the calls even make my trip was not supporting. We were over charged as we checked with only other couple on the boat. We have paid almost 100% more. In a nut shell the boat owners Cheat and provide terrible services and make my trip plays zero role and provides zero support. I would suggest come Allepey stay at some resort meanwhile look for the boats on your own and then do the bookings. There are many boats and could be booked directly by going to finishing point. Also a day cruise would be sufficient to absorb the beauty of back waters. In the evening when the boat is parked in some village there are weird kind of insects which we may have never seen in our life. The house boat team do any provide any kind of facility to be safe from those insects.…
This was my Hostel experience and what an experience to be honest! Enjoyed to the peak! I got to socialize, make new friends daily, get to learn stories of everyone. The host Akshay and Anoop took care of me very well like brothers. Made me feel so comfortable, Even when the other guests left, they made sure I don't feel left out. Akshay always asked me if I had my food. I will miss those days, probably the best days from my Kerala trip. Will come here someday soon again.
Beautiful old house with beautiful garden. Helpful staffs. Clean and big rooms. Breakfast was included but I couldn't try once because of the timing. It was too early for me but I believe it's good. Too much mosquitoes in the evening but good they are well prepared.
I really enjoyed staying here, because: - The hostel manager Sradhha and the rest of the staff are incredibly welcoming. - Great local advice on where to go. - Good communal spaces. - Clean rooms - Breakfast included in the price - Help booking Canoe/kayaking/house boat trips in the backwaters. And help working out which you would enjoy most. Definitely recommend staying here 😁
A beautifully maintained hostel with clean and tidy rooms and a good sized outdoor area and garden seating to relax in. The vibe of the place is magical, and all the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. We liked it so much we extended our stay by 3 nights- well worth it! Thank you to the artpackers team for having us, and extra thank you to Sradhha (daytime manager) for your 5 star hospitality, go well ❤️
I stayed here for 1 night with 2 friends. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful lady (I think her name was Shweta) and although it was before check-in time and our rooms weren't ready, we were shown to a room where we could leave our bags and were made to feel comfortable. We chatted to some other guests who were also really friendly. Shweta helped to organise a canoe trip for the next day - we needed to return to Alleppey a bit early to catch a train but this wasn't a problem, she sorted it all out. Our room was spacious and clean and had big storage lockers for each bed. It was en-suite and the bathroom was basic but functional. In the morning we had breakfast before leaving for our canoe trip, it was freshly cooked and delicious! Overall, we would recommend this hostel.…
The hostel is really spacious with a big garden. Breakfast that was included was really good. But the highlight was the host Sraddha. She was really friendly and helpfull. Was sociable and knowlegdable. Would definitely recommend this place
The building used to be an old school and is so cool. Very high pitched ceilings, tiered bunks ( so youre never facing a strange snoring face) and really comfy beds. The communal space is comfy and conversation encouraging while having little pockets for those wanting solice. Fairy lit by night and music subtly in the background adds to the magic of this place. Location wise it's a 5 minute walk to the beach where you can find a restaurant /bar called Harbour which was good. I had expected to see alot more devastation from the floods from a few months back in the area but there seems to be no obvious damage or anything lacking due to it. Breakfasts were eggs and toast and fruit and tea/coffee. All great! Shah on reception is a complete delight and will draw you in with her warmth, knowledge, advice of the area and funny takes on her country and it's quirky ways. We did a cookery class one evening while here. Very reasonable and then we all sat and ate it after with the fairylit backdrop❤️ The speed for lunches could have speedier as it literally came out one at a time..but we were a group of 8 ( by the end) and were in a bit of a hurry. Not a complaint, more of something for the hotel to think of... …
Great hostel with really nice staff but if they offer you "a kayaking tour" don't do it. It is very over priced and by far the worse tour I have ever done. The instructor was an embarrassment, he was stoned out of his head, didn't even bother to ask us our names. Literally didn't speak a word to anyone for the 4 hour tour.
We were a group traveling through South India and when we reached Artpackers we were glad to see that we made a good choice. The place is great: spacious rooms, a beautiful garden and a nice terrace, clean facilities and friendly personnel. To me it was one of places where I could feel like home, not just a room where I could sleep, wash, and leave my bag in. Our thanks go to Shradha who helped us with a saree draping challenge.
