The Amphitrite Palace was recommended to me by a Moroccan friend.
But a few days before leaving, I had a big bout of stress seeing many very worrying negative reviews (“the hotel is falling apart etc etc”).
In the end I have no regrets because even if it is not without its faults, the Amphitrite Palace is one of the most extraordinary hotels in which we have stayed.
Its architecture makes it look like a palace from the thousand and one nights, the interior decoration too and above all, how can you not be captivated by this hotel which overlooks the swimming pool, which itself overlooks the sea and the private beach.
A true paradise, not far from Rabat which allows you to enjoy the luxury of a palace with a magical view, but also to visit the surrounding area.
So yes, it's not perfect, and those used to impersonal, ultra-modern 5-star hotels will indeed be disappointed. Some equipment is damaged (which is normal for an establishment of this size and by the sea!), room service and housekeeping do not always understand our requests, but you just have to explain what is wrong and it is immediately repaired and compensated by subtle attentions. (thanks in particular to Mohammed Bournane for his responsiveness)

But if you like palaces with a story, extraordinary places and space and attention (the rooms are huge, the food delicious) go without hesitation to recharge your batteries at the amphitrite palace!

Small points for improvement: closing time of the swimming pool and friendliness of the supervisors of this same swimming pool 😅

For the rest, well done for maintaining this establishment with its enormous infrastructure, which really cannot be easy.
We will come back with pleasure.

A great hotel location and vacation spot by the charming Atlantic Ocean, the golden sands and clear water, perfect for swimming and surfing. The Hotel is clean, organized and quiet aside from some shortage in drinking water supply. My family and I (as Saudi Diplomats living in Rabat) do highly recommend your resort to our beloved ones.

Special thanks to Mr. Walid, Mme. Mariam in the front desk and Mr. Rashid in events planning for their help in organizing my 18th birthday party.

My thanks and appreciation goes to the restaurant staff for their cheerful services especially Mr. Miherane Bouazza, Ahmed Zahran, Mr. Zakaria Jaroud, Mr. Saad and Mr. Khalid.

Hotel on the beach , beautiful view from the terrace of our room. Large and comfortable very quiet room. Breakfast varied. We were served a suitable dinner for a hotel restaurant. The bar is cozy and offers a nice selection of drinks.
Very reasonable price this season. Secure parking

While i thought i was bringing some friends for a culinary experience before pursuing our road trip in the country. I was dumbfounded by the horrendous quality of the service for a supposedly 5 star hotel. The waiters are the most inattentive i have ever come across in my trips as a vehement traveler. Not to mention the repellent food we were served after a long wait. The meat was not cooked and smelly. Setting a price for plates of such quality is abhorrent. Such a disappointment

The setting is great. However, the staff... I arrive at noon for lunch and I ask a waitress (who does not speak French) if I can eat and she does not tell me before 2am. So I turn to the bar to ask if it is normal and he tells me no settle you.
I settle down. More than 25 minutes waiting for the card. Then another 25 minutes to take my order (knowing that I had to ask each time...)
After an hour and a half my food and drink has still not been served. For a total Award of almost 40€ and for a Pension with so many stars we really expect better.

I had been there before and I was not disappointed at the time.

Also, at the beginning of last week we came with friends, two of our group we want to go to the sea, the guard asked them 400dh if they wanted to come back after...

For those who don't kow the place, the location is fantastic, but the rest is below average. It is safe to take a drink but avoid the restaurant. Their menu carte is two lines, poor, limited and very expensive. If you order a pizza, your are in for a frozen dough and not well cooked. Forget the fresh mushrooms, they are canned. Their three offers of meat are minimal and badly presented. Don't talk about fish, they don't know it, or at least prepare it. The service is amateur apart from Houcine. I wouldn't recommend this place for a meal.

I’ve just finished a 4 day, 3 night stay at the L'Amphitrite Palace hotel in Skhirat Beach Morocco. The hotel is about one hour from Casablanca and 20 minutes from Rabat. The hotel is a new Starwood property classified under their Luxury Collection. I am a Platinum member of Starwood’s SPG program and have stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world (read as; I’m not an employee of the hotel, nor am I a rookie at this).

My girlfriend and I decided to stay there for New Year’s Eve. Even though the Starwood website says it’s not bookable yet, the hotel has been open for a number of months they just haven’t their official grand opening yet and aren’t a part of the Starwood network. This is an interesting point since they do have “Luxury Collection” labels on everything already. They are expecting to have their “Grand Opening” in a few more months. Since this is supposed to be a review, here goes;

The hotel is on Skihirat Beach next to one of the King of Morocco's residences. The hotel has a private beach which is very nice. The sand is soft and nice to walk on and the water isn’t too rough. There is good surfing so you can expect to see 10 or 12 surfers. You can walk along the beach for miles without any problem and look at the houses and watch the fishermen. The hotel is located in a remote area with not much to do in anywhere nearby. It’s a nice place to go if you want to relax, but not if you’re looking to soak up any local culture.

The hotel itself is nice but there is still a bit of construction going on which should be done soon. The hotel has a long way to go before it’s up to par with the rest of the other hotels with the Luxury brand. The biggest problem at the hotel is that no one on the staff speaks decent English. My girlfriend speaks very good French and very few of the staff even spoke this. So, unless you speak Arabic, expect to have communication problems with almost everyone except the very senior management; this includes the front desk, waiters and waitresses, the telephone operator, everyone. This caused us problems throughout the stay. There were a number of incorrect meal orders, as well as problems getting simple questions answered. It’s also quite obvious that the staff is very new at their jobs. They were eager (which is good), but untrained (which is bad).

Another problem that I’ll attribute to the newness of the hotel was its very short menu. There was very little to select from, and more than once we were told that items on the menu were not available. Also be warned, Moroccan wine is not very good, there’s a lot of it on the menu, but steer clear. The bar menu was practically non-existent. They have a German Head chef on staff who has made some interesting choices for their short menu. Nothing was stellar, but it as all good.

One major problem that the hotel will never be able to fix is the noise. For one of the nights we had an upstairs neighbor and we could hear every single footstep. It is not the sort of thing one would expect from an upscale hotel. I would have asked to be moved if they had been there for more than one night. Another problem with the hotel is that every area is a smoking area. I realize that this is prevalent across Morocco, but there is nothing worse than someone smoking a cigar two tables away during the middle of dinner. Even our non-smoking room had ashtrays.

Some of the nice things about the hotel are that first of all it is new and therefore everything looks nice. All the rooms are big and they’ve got a number of decent channels on TV. The TVs are a little small, but that’s not a big deal. The staff was very friendly and very enthusiastic. There was never any request that wasn’t answered with “Yes, right away.” (once they figured out what the request was).

Overall I have to say that it was a good stay. The Starwood website claims that “… The Luxury Collection delivers the finest hotel experiences through an unparalleled attention to guests' needs and preferences…” This hotel has the potential, but there is a lot of work to go training the staff before they are of this caliber. At the moment, I’d rate it at the same level as most Westins and some Sheratons.

After a 20 hrs journey from LA, we were greeted by a rude and unprofessional customer relations lady, who made the start of our stay a welcome from hell. We are usually greeted in other hotels in Morocco with a tour of the facilities, a cup of tea, local pastries and warm smiles, but no such luck at L’amphitrite. All we wanted is a shower and a bed to get some sleep but the check in process was arduous.

The customer relations lady handled the situation very badly, and refused to let us bring in bottled water to make baby formula for our baby daughter! We stopped at the store on the way to the hotel to get a case of bottled water since we were staying for a week, but she would not allow it, and made a big deal out of bottled water!

Apparently this hotel has some ridiculous rules regarding outside food and water. You are not allowed to bring in bottled water into the hotel from outside, baby or not!! They want you to buy their bottled water at the hotel. They make these absurd rules to increase their bottom line, because this place is a ghost town (surprise surprise). To me, this is simply a scam as I have never experienced this in any other hotel. The customer relations lady explained that people abuse the system and bring in food from outside to their room, I thought I came form a different planet listening to her speak! People have the right to do whatever they want in their room, as long as it is legal!

I travel overseas extensively because of my work, and I have never experienced this nonsense! I stay at the Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton hotels all the time, this is the first time in my life I encountered such absurdity. There are people in my team who request the hotel room service to empty the mini bar because they want to put their own drinks and food in there, and the hotel happily does it.

I understand that they can make whatever nonsense rules they’d like, it’s their hotel after all, but I expect these rules to be in CAPITAL BOLD letters on the first page of their website, so that people make informed decisions before booking their stay. Surprising people at checkin with these ridiculous rules is flat out unethical!

Another example of revenue generating schemes done by this hotel that I haven’t seen before: they allow people who are not staying at the hotel into the hotel pool for a $40 fee (security concerns much?) we had to provide our passports at checkin, but other people can pay $40 and walk right in!

Some of the few bright spots during our stay is the rest of the staff who were all nice and helpful, from the people at the front door, the front desk, along with the wait staff at the pool restaurant, the Italian and the Moroccan restaurants were all professional, nice and helpful.

With that said, I will make sure that this is the last time I or anyone from my family, coworkers or friends step foot at this hotel! and I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially families. There are many other hotels nearby that do not have these idiotic rules!

We thank you for having chosen our hotel for your first stay at the hotel. What we heard from our team and especially from our guest relation is the fact that you went at the entrance of the hotel with a big and large box of mineral water. You will understand easely that in any hotel of the world and you are a traveller, this is something unusual. To bring the food and the beverage it is potentially possible in some different hospitality concepts but for sure not in hotels. You are coming from United States and you are native from Morocco meaning that you know very well what is possible in your work country and what is not possible in other countries. Procedures upon check in, nothing special, same process in all hotels, however to indicate on the OTA all the informations you need to know before coming to Morocco is very difficult. This is the reason this is not in our website. We regret very much that you are not familiar with local rules in Morocco and we hope that your experience will help you for the near future. In the meantime, Regards, Management

My daughter stayed in this hotel. Her money and brand new sunglasses were stolen by the maids at the hotel room. Management wrote one mail regarding compensation, unfortunately no action and no answer to the following ten emails. Our daughter stayed there with Turkish National team during karate tournament. Other members of the team had this bad experience as well.

We are very surprised to hear such comment. Firstly because nobody can say that it has been stolen. Secondly when we have proposed to your daughter to register at the police station, she didn’t go. In the majority of the countries in the world included your country for a loss you need to declare it at the police station. Police upon registration can give you a form confirming that you lost your item. Therefore you can afterwards asking for a refund to your insurance company. However we decided it to refund you and we sent you a mail saying that you will receive the refund when the change office will agree the process. You have to understand that it takes time but as General Manager I can confirm that all the necessary issues have been done in the right time. By the way you have our contact and several mails have been exchanged. Our financial department is aware and will finalize your issue in the right time. Management

We were supposed to stay here one week and enjoy a beach vacation with spa facilities. However the hotel cancelled our stay less than 36 hours before we were supposed to arrive with no other information then a cancellation email. They told us several different stories about why they cancelled our stay, amongst other things, that the hotel were closed for royalties. When we showed up the hotel were full of tourists and they informed us about other hotels. We had to stay at an hotel 50 minutes away from the beach.... the service they have showed us has been terrible. We ask about daily pool and beach access at the hotel, and was granted this. But was informed in hinsight, that this would be charged. They expected ut to pay daily rates for pool access, which almost were the same as the price we booked a room for, that they cancelled, in addition to pay for the room at the other hotel without considering our 2hr drive to the beach eveyday. They completely ruined our vacation and still showed no understanding or customer service. This has showed us that you can not trust this hotel at all! Never experienced this poor service any other place!

In regards to your complain which was realistic, we regret for the way your booking has been treated. We can tell you that it is the first time that we had to manage a quiet number of rooms reserved but with difficulties due to last minutes official requirement for the week-end. However it was not our intention to charge you beach and pool entrances, if you are still around, do not hesitate to pass and we will be more than happy to welcome you for free. Expecting to see you during your holidays, Best regards, General Management

hello, Im thinking of staying here, how much extra approx is the Jacuzzi spa use & massage?
Answer from Ashutosh

Jacuzzi and pool are free for guest staying in the hotel. Treatments also have some packages... e.g., massage + bath etc. price - not sure about the current one, but approximately ~ 500-600MAD for one treatment. For precise estimate better call and check with hotel directly. The treatments were available only until 7 pm during my stay..
