We vacationed for 2 weeks driving around. Three nights we got to enjoy the Brookside Resort. Most of our other nights where spent in the Hilton chains. this was great change from the big chains. The room was a bottom floor corner with a fire place! Picked up our wood from the front desk ($5.00) and had to great nights enjoying a evening fire and cocktails, Open your back door to your private patio with the creak 10 feet away. The resort is being remodeled so more good changes are on there way. As for our bed it was ok. The carpet could have been a little cleaner but as said before they are updating. the room has a nice refrigerator and really cool bathroom sink. Breakfast in the morning is served in there conference room for a small charge and well worth it. Al in all we would stay there again. By the way the trolley stop is right in front of the resort and free to town.…
Room was ok. Cute cabin vibe but our room had dirty sheets that could have easily been cleaned so you know they didn't remove the top sheet. We did not do the 5 dollar breakfast. Great location. Overall quaint and quiet. The blonde young girl was very nice and helpful.
We arrived early and they had our room ready. Friendly staff told us all about the room and the way to get to town. We loved the rustic room with comfy clean beds, a roaring brook right out our balcony and a working fireplace. We purchased wood from the local gas station and it was amazing to have a fire in the room. Made the trip and smelled great! Love this place!
I would like to say that my stay here was more than great! Breakfast was served every morning in a very timely fashion. The room was more than spacious and very accommodating with sink, coffee maker, small fridge/freezer. It also had a wood burning fireplace! It was obvious that my room had been updated! Great part of town, you can walk to everything, or else take a trolley which stops directly in front of the resort. I wanted to give a special Thank You to Wilma who was the housekeeper! I did not want to have anyone in my room during my stay. Wilma was there every day to check on me, and make sure I had an adequate supply of everything I needed!!! She was also very friendly, and we spoke to each other briefly every day. I was by myself and she made me feel not only very welcome, but very safe! Thank you Wilma, you were very much appreciated! I hope the Brookside Resort realizes what a valuable employee you are. I was sure to leave her a nice tip for doing such an outstanding job. Housekeeping is not an easy job, so please be sure to show your kindness and appreciation, by tipping these folks!!! Thanks for everything Brookside, I will be sure to return to your resort during my next visit to Gatlinburg. I hope to see Wilma there again as well!…
The whole place needs a lot of sprucing up! Toilet seat loose! Entire toilet not well attached to wall or floor - thought the whole thing would crash. Sink faucet also loose. Whole place not well taken care of - sloppy tile job in bathroom, sloppy paint job all over. Mattresses little better than old air mattress, and need to have been updated years ago. Fridge very noisy all night. Web site advertises pool, and still said so today, but it was not available. Sign advertises fireplaces in rooms, but no wood! When asked about this they said they had lost their source, but we could buy some at a nearby store. Well, why didn't the resort buy some at same place for guests??? Breakfast was just ok, but overcooked. Two 'servers' there at buffet, but we had to clean our own table before we sat down. Why do you need servers at a pitiful buffet? Ice machine on our floor was out of order. Lighting in room was terrible. If you read in bed you had to get out of bed to turn off the lights. If person in other bed tried to sleep one switch operated both lights. No place to put anything in bathroom so only place to do make up, etc. was at a desk with a mirror, but the dim light was BEHIND you. Only hard stick/log furniture, but we found a desk chair in the hallway with some other discarded furniture so we took that to our room. The only good thing about this place is that you have a balcony overlooking a beautiful babbling brook. We did enjoy sitting out there after making our own coffee since no decaf was offered with breakfast.…
