We had come to the Smokies for a family vacation and decided to extend our stay for a few days. We were literally driving around Gatlinburg trying to figure out where to stay that wasn't too expensive or touristy. By chance we drove by Marshall Creek. It looked like the a cozy motel of the 50's and we thought maybe. My husband went in to see if there were any rooms available, and luckily they had just had a cancellation that morning. The owner offered to let us check out the room before we rented it, so our family popped in to take a look. Our kids (15 &14) immediately said "Yup, let's stay here!" The rooms were updated and clean. Great layout for our family of 4 (we were actually in the"family suite" 2 double beds when you enter and an extra room with another double bed). The bathroom was small for our family, but suited our needs for a couple of nights no problem. The one suggestion is to add small shelf right off the sink. Being a pedestal sink we had no where to put all of our toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap, so an extra shelf would help solve that.
We enjoyed the pool during our stay, and it was a perfect respite from the hot afternoon sun. Didn't expect to love this motel as much as we did, but it was perfect. Location, pool, room all what we needed for our few extra days in Gatlinburg!

This is a “Mom & Pop” 1950s budget motel that is clean & comfortable with no frills. We stayed for 6 nights and for the price (30% or more cheaper than others near by) & location, we recommend it and would consider staying here again but there are things that may not work for others; read on for details. The staff are friendly, helpful and available when we needed them. All rooms are on 1 level and you park in front of your room. We got room #2 = 2 double beds. The room was clean and appeared recently remodeled with oak walls & ceiling and wood laminate floors. For 2 adults the room was plenty large but there was only 1 drawer and very minimal shelf/counter space for stuff. We managed w/2 adults but 4 people would have been a challenge. A folding table & 2 folding chairs were provided which worked for us but may not for more people. The bed was comfortable, the towels were fluffy & soft but in the bathroom there were only 2 hooks. The shower head was mounted low at ~ 5’5” so my partner had to crouch down to use it or use the hand held device. The shower curtain was too small so water got all over the floor no matter how hard you tried to prevent it; & we tried every time to no avail. One morning we awoke to find a live silverfish in the bathtub. I expected housekeeping to see it and take care of it but when we arrived back at dinner it was still in the tub alive. The A/C worked great but the heat from that same unit gave off a horrible burnt smell so we had to turn it off immediately & air out the place; luckily the room had a screen door. For heat we used the LED wall “fireplace” which had a heater that did not smell but you could not set the temp; on or off only. Luckily we only needed it for 1 day. The fridge was larger than I expected; plenty of room for leftovers and groceries and it kept things cold. The microwave and coffee maker worked but you did have to wait 5 mins between use of the coffee maker otherwise it spit hot water all over the base. Breakfast is not provided. Outside the room were 2 rocking chairs but they were not exclusive to our room; they were shared with 2 other rooms (#1 & #20). The location is great if you want to be off the main drag; it’s about 3 blocks away and walkable for us. The rooms closer to the road (#19, #18) could probably hear & see the creek running near them but our room was at the other end so we could not. There is no “scenic view” out of any of the rooms; just the parking lot or the condos across the street. It has an outdoor pool (no hot tub) and a seating area by the pool & the creek but we did not use either. All in all a good value for what you get and we’d stay here again; just set your expectations accordingly.

The room was furnished as a cabin with knotty pine panelling and wood floors. The rooms are small, but comfortable for 2 adults. The sheets and towels were of a higher quality than most motels, and the bathroom was very clean. There is a microwave and mini fridge, as well as a folding card table with 2 folding chairs if you need them. There is an outdoor pool and an old fashioned swing where you can’t relax and watch the creek. The location was great because you are away from the craziness of downtown, but it was a short walk to get to that area. Ask the desk for suggestions if you want to go out for breakfast. They know places that are a short distance. The downtown places had long lines every morning.

First of all this trip was purchased a few months ago . Our family was so excited for this trip and we got there everything was great ! And all the sudden I got jumped by the owner of this motel because we had mentioned to a man that we was talking to about the price we paid for our rooms this man was rude and mean I tried talking to the guy but he was just very very ugly to me tokd me I ruined his bussiness by telling what I had paid for our rooms . First of all I did not see a paper saying I had to sign a confidentiality agreement about keeping my mouth shut about the price . He treated me and my family like trash ! Humiliation embarrassment . It was hurtful . This man is not a good bussiness owner first of all he ruined his own bussiness with the way he treats the people that stays there .this man threatened to call the law on us because I told him how wrong he was for treating us this way ! Beware of this motel and its owners . Also you cant sleep past 7am his father breaks out the blower and starts blowing leaves right by your rooms and wakes you up so sleeping in is not possible !! Take my advice go somewhere else .

In addition to being in a great location just a couple blocks from the center of town, this motel is located on a stream and it is quiet. We got adjoining rooms. They were very clean. The motel is well maintained with new TV, refrigerator, and microwave. The staff is friendly and attentive. Nothing to complain about here.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The room extremely clean. The rooms are newly remodeled and super cute. The owners are on site and went over and above for us durning our stay. It reminds me of vacations as a kid. It is walkable to downtown Gaitlinburg which was a plus. They have rocking chairs in front of each room it was a great place to greet the other guests staying there. We will be back for sure !!!

This may have been the cleanest motel I have ever stayed in. It was spotless. And the owners could not have been nicer. Definitely a step back in time, but in a good way. There were two rocking chairs outside each room and parking right outside your door. I only booked one night due to a change in travel plans, and my original hotel not being able to accommodate me for that one night, but I honestly wish I had stayed here the entire time. You will not be disappointed.

This is the cleanest, most adorable place we have ever stayed. It is very cozy, so is best for those that don't require indoor space to spread out. The family is friendly and welcoming and they do it all. I feel so fortunate to have discovered this gem. I think the owners warmth spreads to the guest as we have had fun conversations on the porches about the sightings of the resident bear that visits on a regular basis. The location is great and the beautiful Baskins Creek is right there along with swings and chairs to relax in. Rocking chairs are on the porch just outside your room and you have a private parking spot. You can walk to everything in Gatlinburg from this motel.

The hotel was in a perfect location, only a 5 min walk from the main strip. The room wasn’t huge but it was clean, pillows decent. Decent size TV and decent sheets. The shower pressure was very good and the mini fridge was pretty big! Your parking spot is right outside your door, no noise overnight. Overall, I would definitely stay here again!!

Rooms are older (motel was built in the 50’s), but they were clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There is no breakfast, but coffee is available in the motel lobby. This is a no frills motel that is convenient to downtown Gatlinburg (approx. 5 minute walk). The rocking chairs, screen doors, and open windows with screens were a throwback to the good old days. Highly recommend this motel.

Not really sure, but the owners and check-in person were very friendly. If you call and ask, they may be willing to help. I've always encountered friendly people everywhere in the area willing to provide help or answers. Happy anniversary and good luck to you
