We had a great experience at Carr's and would probably stay again if we are ever in the area. The room was spacious and clean and the staff were friendly. The only reason I did not give 5/5 is that the room was a bit dated and could use an update, but by no means was the room dingy. We really liked the back patio overlooking a stream, was a great place to unwind after a busy day of hiking.
We had a wonderful time at Carrs. The stream-side porch was such a delight. We felt like we were living in the midst of Nature. Very quiet place. Everything was spic and span, and the place is very close to the National Park Entrance. What more could we ask for? We forgot an item in the room and they called right away, so we were able to go back and retrieve it. Thank you!
We were traveling from SC all morning and were super exhausted. The hotel we originally booked was not going to be ready until 4pm and was in Knoxville. I googled hotels in the area and Carr's popped up....I am glad they did, I called them and they had a room available right then. We ran over and WOW were we surprised. It made our whole trip!!! The room was big and comfortable. The room was so clean and the staff were amazing. We can not wait to stay again. The location was perfect. There was a playground right there on property as well.
We were going to stay here for my daughter's soccer tournament down the street. The tourney Was cancelled because they were expecting 5-10 inches of snow on our check-in day. We called to cancel but they are a stickler for their cancellation policy. Wouldn't budge. Some things deserve an exception to your rules. I've never stayed at a hotel with less consideration.
For our Anniversary Weekend we decided to stay here at Carrs Cottages. We stayed in unit 408 and it was comfortable and had all the creature comforts of home. Stove, Refrigerator, Microwave, Toaster and Coffee Pot! Also a Dinette and Chairs. Cookware and other items were also available for meal prep and serving. Comfortable beds and a walk in shower and a flat screen TV above a gas fireplace. The balcony was large with a running stream; which was relaxing and perfect! I highly recommend a cottage and for the warmer months; a picnic pavilion, grills, pool, basketball court and a playground are also offered. The guest office is new and they also have a large laundry facility on site ~
