Unit 503...1 bedroom, 1 bath. Clean and comfy. It says for handicapped, but the bedroom is kinda small, so not sure about that. However, the shower is walkin and toilet has handicapped handles. I rented this specific for our 16th anniversary because the reviews were great...and I agree with them. The walk to downtown is quick. If you're familiar with Gatlinburg, then you know the Village...you just walk a little bit and go through the back of the Village and you're right there on the main walkway. You don't have to go to the corner...unless you want to. I loved that it was close to the mall and Ole Red. I'm used to staying on the other side closer to Ober Gatlinburg. This was a nice change. I will mention that the bed is not a mattress and boxsprings...its a frame with a memory foam mattress. We were a little taken aback by that, but the bed is VERY comfortable! Plenty of pillows & blankets! And if you need more towels, they have them at the check in desk. OH! It has a gas fireplace that is easy to turn on. I've already booked a weekend at one of the 2 bedroom condos (on the suggestion of the front desk worker) in December! You can't beat the price and it's so nice to feel like you're home instead of in a hotel room. I'm so hooked on staying in condos now! I can honestly say 503 is great for a couple!!…
We rented unit 307. Nice place, had plenty of towels and washcloths for our family of 5. Beds could have been bigger but still was clean and spacious condo. Only issue was our a/c unit wasn’t cooling (yeah I know in December) but I could overlook that. Hospitable staff. Nice view. For the price you can’t beat it. And we stayed there during “hell week” as the natives call it. So I was blessed to get a place at all.
I booked this place this month through my chase travel rewards. The day of arrival I arrived later in the evening with two small children ages 4 and 6 after a long drive. The office closes early but the reservation stated that there was no check in end time. I called the number on my reservation only to get an answering machine with no call back until the next day asking if I was still coming. The person on the phone claimed they sent two emails to me, one on the 14th and one on the 17th with check in codes. Zero emails were received on ANY day and I checked my junk folder to be sure as I was stranded that night with small children. They must have typed in the wrong email address. The evening of my reservation I called chase travel and they were zero help as it was someone foreign who thought this place was a normal hotel and kept telling me to check in at their office. They also canceled my reservation and told me I would get a full refund but Olde Gatlinburg has yet to respond to their request. Terrible experience and customer service!!…
We picked this place at random For a one night stay as we were starting a through hike of the Appalachian Trail Great Smoky Mountains section. The weather changed and we had to abandon our camping plans and settle for day hikes with a warm dry place to sleep. When we texted from the property manager from the mountaintop they quickly accommodated us with a great rate. They went out of their way to make things work for us on a busy weekend. The condos are very nice and spacious and clean. The management goes above and beyond for customer service. We got a 2 bedroom condo for about the same price as a cheap low end motel!
Stayed in room 503. All the rooms are individually owned so experiences may very. Room was clean, and by clean I mean clean. You can smell clean and this was pleasant. The balcony faces towards town so it has a nice view of the mountains. It's a 5 minute walk to Parkway, very convenient. We stayed with the same owners before and will continue to do so when we can.
We have stayed at Olde Gatlinburg for 9 years in multiple rooms. We've had good experiences in the past in different rooms; this was by far the worst. Three of the four burners on the stove were not working even though the light to show it is on was permanently on. The cable cut in and out constantly and the cable box was hanging from the wall; dangling loosely. There was a large puddle on the balcony that never really went away. The shower was very out dated. There was duct tape holding up a lamp shade. The very worst part was the bed in the bedroom and the pull out bed in the couch. Both were extremely old. We ended up going to Walmart to buy a inflatable mattress to put on the bedroom bed because it was as good as sleeping on the floor. Whoever owns this room has put zero time and money into it and it really set the tone for what ended up being a bad trip. The ice machine has always been poor there. The pool has always been very cloudy and things like torn wall paper and dirty smelly rooms could be over looked if there wasn't seriously major problems, like there was in room 702. Forget asking for help or for towels because they are understaffed and clearly don't care because there was a sign constantly on the door in the lobby saying they were temporarily away. It was not temporary at all. Many times we went to the office for help and nobody was there. We will never being staying in Olde Gatlinburg Condos again, after 9 years.…
Do not stay in the room named Mountain Splendor 105. We were given this room as part of a Timeshare presentation. From the moment we walked in, we were disgusted. The carpet in every room was extremely dirty. Maybe they wanted to bring part of the Mountain inside! The carpet in the closet was worse - looked like piles of dirt or mold. There are holes in the wall in the closet. The bathroom tub was very dirty. The curtains were falling down. Since everything was so dirty, we decided to break down the bedding. We are happy we did, because we identified what we can only assume was a urine stain on one of the mattress covers. The was the last state. We called the property management company, Eagles Ridge, and they wanted to provide a remediation plan but we felt that it would take the better part of the week to get this to a livable state. So we left and stayed in a Marriott downtown. The property management company did refund our taxes that we paid, so there is that. I just can’t believe that they would think this “condo” (really more like a motel room) was something that could/ should be rented. Shame!!!!…
We stayed in room 212 for Memorial Day weekend. Pros and cons... Pros: 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, decent location, coffee pot, frig with good freezer and ceiling fans in all the rooms. Cons: Musty smell, beds were squeaky and soft, flat as a pancake pillows, yellow towels, water pressure was non existent, the only air that worked was in one bedroom. The other air conditioner flipped the circuit and had a burning smell when we reset the circuit. The patio was dirty. I am not terribly fussy...but I am glad it wasn’t terribly hot since one air didn’t work.
We stayed here on a last minute decision to head to the mountains for Christmas. Our Accommodations were adequate for what we needed. The place was clean. The bed was not the most comfy but we had read that in previous reviews so we took a down comforter to sleep on and that helped. The convenience of bring able to walk to everything in town was a big plus! I would stay here again. The Christmas Eve and Day snow, made the views from our place beautiful.
We stayed in 402. Upon arrival, parking was very difficult and limited. Entering the condo, it was FILTHY... feet turned black after minutes of walking around, everyone put shoes back on. Gas fireplace would not fully shut off, there was a constant small flame even when we turned the switch to off. AC/heater was broken and hanging off the wall. Many light switches didn’t work. Holes in the sofa, sofa dirty, huge scuff marks and dirt on walls, showers and toilets stained and dirty, water pooled in bottom of dishwasher, blankets/bedding for pullout sofa were disgusting. Worst of all, around 2am, after going to bed about midnight, niece came into our room and woke us to say there was a bug crawling in her bed (the pullout sofa). We check to discover that it was bedbugs. Adults and babies crawling all over the pullout sofa. My daughter, who was also sleeping there, ended up with bites all over her arms, chest, and neck. I called the owner repeatedly and he finally answered after several calls. He offered us another room in the building, obviously I declined because if you have bedbugs in one location of a building it’s highly likely they’re in the others (they live in walls as well). He did ultimately give us a full refund but we were left on our own to find other accommodations at 3am on Thanksgiving. This place is charging over $200/night and it is AWFUL that they would rent the place out in these conditions, even they didn’t know about the bedbugs. My biggest reason for writing this review everywhere I can is because when I called the Sevier County heath department, they explained that because these are privately owned condos THEY CANNOT BE REGULATED BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND CAN LEGALLY CONTINUE TO RENT THE FACILITY EVEN WITH AN INFESTATION!!!!! I couldn’t believe my ears... I do not want what happened to us to happen to ANYONE else. I have to do whatever I can to make sure that the owners/management take this seriously, thoroughly clean and professionally exterminate before letting one more person rent there.…
