Dog friendly; the rooms were s bit dated but clean. I would love to stay again because it's close to the shopping and amusement. Warning to those with mobility issues: some of the buildings are situated on a step incline. The wi-fi is basically nonexistent, and the phones in the room often fade out and crackle. It's best to use your cell to contact the front desk.
Westgate puts potential buyers coming to look here. They should be ashamed. This property is filthy and outdated. Staff is super friendly, location is great and pools are nice and well heated, those are about the only positive things I can say. We spoke to several other couples at the pool and they had the same feelings about the property. Literally holes in the shower curtain. Tough to see in pictures. Brown bathroom counters. Blinds look like they have not been cleaned in years.
Great views, but Wifi quality was not suitable for remote work as the connection repeatedly cuts out. You’ll have to ask to have your room cleaned and you’ll have to seek out your breakfast elsewhere in town because their restaurant is still not open.
Outdated. Outdated. Outdated. Nice staff. Pool was closed. Did I mention outdated? Good location. Outdated. No elevator. Outdated. Could use more parking. Restaurant was closed. Outdated. Outdated. Near several restaurants and candy shops. Wouldn’t stay again.
Hotwire chose this room for us claiming it was a 3 1/2 star. I would maybe give it a 2. It’s pretty from the outside, the location is wonderful, the staff was really friendly. My issue with the hotel is the room. We entered the room and it had a terrible musty smell. The sliding glass door was heavy and difficult to open but the view was nice. The entire place needs remodeled. The room has to have been done in the 90s. I wouldn’t sit on the chairs because they looked so old and dirty. The carpet also looked old and dirty and I only wore shoes to walk on it . There was a super small sink in the bathroom and then another sink in the room. Every time you would flush the toilet, the toilet was actually warm to the touch which I found very odd. The bathtub had a large area that had been peeled off (see pic) . The beds were very comfortable. We don’t smoke and are sensitive to the smell, the people beside us were heavy smokers, smoking on their balcony and that smell got into our room. We couldn’t really use the balcony much because of the strong smell. Again the staff was very nice. The pool area looked nice but we didn’t swim, the time we wanted to swim it was locked. I wouldn’t book here again unless the rooms had been remodeled and some type of smoking area or a few smoking rooms could be designated The smell was overwhelming at times.…
As other reviewers have said, this hotel’s saving grace is it’s location. We have stayed here a few times over the years and have never been disappointed, until this time. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are not bad at all, the pool area was good. My only problem was at check in, we were told there was no room service, which to me meant food. Turns out there was no maid service. I like staying in hotels as opposed to cabins because I like to come back after being out all day and find clean towels, a bed made, my sink wiped out, & trash empty. Instead we had to call/text every time we needed towels, trash bags, coffee, etc. I understand that it’s hard to find employees in this day and time and I didn’t really mind too much. I just wish it had been explained a bit more in the beginning. All said, it’s not a magnificent place to stay, but it is a good place to stay.…
The location is excellent and the room was very clean…what I’d expect from a mid-range property.. The internet; however, is terrible. When and if you can connect to this unsecured network, the signal is weak and the speed is glacial. It’s amazing that a property that claims to be a conference center is unsecured, very spotty and extremely slow if you can connect. Please upgrade your infrastructure.
We picked this hotel because it was pet friendly. The location was great for visiting Gatlinburg. The staff were always friendly and helpful. This is an older facility. The rooms were clean, comfortably large, and everything worked. But they did show a fair amount of wear and had a somewhat awkward layout. There was a nice balcony that had a great view of the city. The buildings are built on a steep hill that some may find difficult to walk up. The upper floors of the upper buildings have the best view. Our building did not have an elevator. Not sure about other buildings. The hotel is next to the main part of tourist area and I would suggest leaving your car at the hotel and walking.
Front staff was friendly and did well managing the influx of sudden guests. We were put in room 1101. First building. Bottom floor, end hall. Adjoining room with walls that you could hear a pin drop thru. No idea why our bathtub was in the middle of the room. Couples suite maybe? Very odd. Painted paneling. Needs some serious updates. Had a table and two small chairs. Needs a love seat or fold out couch instead with a coffee table. There was plenty of room for one in ours. Pics did not depict the condition of our room at all. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION is phenomenal here so I guess that’s what we really paid for. And maybe prices were higher for Spring Break?
This place is overpriced for what it is. The only reason we stayed here is because they allowed dogs (for an extra fee). PROS: Allows dogs. Super friendly and helpful staff. Location in Gatlinburg is close to many restaurants and entertainment. CONS: Outdated rooms with old fixtures and heating. Worn carpeting. Overpriced (plus a pet fee). Not really a "resort" that I saw, just several simple hotel buildings grouped together. Dog friendly but no available area for pets to walk and do their business on property. We won't ever stay here again. There are better updated hotels with better views and better amenities in Gatlinburg.
