With the COVID-19. I am glad I got this hotel. The ups: I like the location. It is very quiet and each room has a balcony to enjoy the mountain view and the creek. I was prepared to stay in with my food and my drinks, so great place for me. I specifically like where the bathroom is. The sink is in the extension of the bathroom and the bedroom and you don't feel like you use the bathroom to clean up stuff. And, plenty of parking.
The downs: A little too far to walk from center of the town and the elevator is quite slow if you park under the hotel and your room is on the 4th floor like mine. Sign everywhere to remind guests about COVID-19 safety but so few of them wear masks or observe distance. So as an older person, I felt constantly have to look over my shoulders. Overall, I like it and the staff are super nice and helpful.
By the way, hot coffee is provided in the reception area 24/7

This is one of the top rated Gatlinburg area hotel. It is on the lower price spectrum as well. We really enjoyed the view. As of our stay they had remodeled half of the rooms in this hotel (ours included). The rooms were nice. The hard surface floors were filthy however. The parking situation is tight. Easily congested and at times difficult to maneuver. The staff was not super helpful or polite. It is almost impossible to get a cart from your room to your car if you check out around 11am. You cannot get your carts around the cleaning crews carts in the walkway. They are also highly unaccommodating. So our message the people aspect of this place needs improvement. Poor floor cleaning and not customer friendly.

The breakfast is basic, but do not arrive right before 9:30am (closing time). The lady serving there will chase off the customers and lock the door. Fortunately we were there at 9:25am and did get a few items. There is something for most for breakfast at this hotel.

Overall inspite of our few not pleasant run ins with staff, this was not a bad room experience. It was a nice bed, rain shower head and large screen TV. The balcony view was spectacular. It hangs right over the river. It also looks right into the mountains and downtown Gatlinburg. Four star rating from us.

We stayed 3 nights here and were very happy to be located several blocks away from the noise, clamor and busyness of the main drag with all the people and businesses. However, the constant din of the Parkway traffic is loud since the hotel faces the highway. Each room door faces the Parkway since there are no indoor access hallways, only exterior corridors on each of the 3 levels.
Parking on the hotel street level lot and lower level garage were easy access.

Each room has a balcony the overlooks the tiny river. However, the close proximity to the river makes the room much too humid. I bring my own thermometer with humidity sensor to each hotel that I travel to. The humidity level was a constant 70% - 72% even with the heat turned on. The weather was too cool in late September and thus heat was needed in the room, not air conditioning at the time.
I would have preferred a hotel with no balcony and with less humidity since we were in the Smoky Mountains to enjoy the landscape and sights of mountains and not the tiny gurgling river view down below. We did not spend time in the room except for sleeping.

There are not enough towel bars and hooks in the bathroom area.
Since the room was so humid, the towels did not dry. The small bathroom area with bathtub and toilet did not have any towel bar to hang up towels. There was only 1 small towel bar in the outside sink area. The ventilation/exhaust fan did not work properly and stopped working after about 5 minutes.

The vanity area is well lighted with a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave.
The room itself was large enough for 2 queen beds, desk and chair, dresser, closet and lounge chair and lamp in the corner.
We always bring our own power strip to charge our electronic devices since there are never enough outlets and USB.

The breakfast area is large, open from 6:30-9:30am. Breakfast offerings were waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, mini-muffins, cold cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices.

I have chose to stay here more than a few times over about 20 years, the location is grand. This hotel has had various names and ownerships. Unfortunately, this last stay, this pas weekend on one Saturday night, will be our last. Partly my fault, deciding to stay in town one more night after a week at an amazing cabin, the stay was made 1 day in advance. The cost was unreasonable for the accommodations and quality of services rendered at this establishment. Without subjective opinion, I want to be very transparently objective.

2 adults, 2 boys at 9 years old.

The stream closeness is a strong positive experience while staying here. Signs in the lobby state fines are given for smoking in the rooms or balconies over the stream. After we checked in we all went out on the balcony to enjoy the view, unfortunately several balconies were occupied and the tobacco odor was strong with visible smoke both left, and right, along with above, our location.

The bathroom possessed a public restroom odor, we cleaned the tub prior to using it due to excessive body and best guess, head hair (due to length) in the tub. Otherwise, observing with the naked eye, the rest of the room appeared to be in satisfactory condition.

The TV did not work, the front desk staff did eventually come up to the room and resolve this.

The morning check out process was such a disappointment. After loading our vehicle I went to the front desk. There was a small child playing in a room that after waiting several minutes, I asked if an adult was working or available. After waiting a little longer I asked the staff member that appeared, possible from resting their eyes from appearance, where the breakfast was set up so my family could grab a bite before hitting the road. The staff member pointed out where the breakfast would be set up then bluntly stated they are not serving it at this time. I went out to inform the rest of the group, then returned to assure checkout and return the hotel key cards x 2. I waited almost 10 minutes before leaving them in the basket and exiting due to once again lack of staff presence.

This stay was worth possibly 1/3 of the amount paid, at best. There exist a host of other hotels with better ratings, as good or better locations, and better bang for your buck. Use caution when considering this place as potential lodging.

You’ll get no sleep at this horrible cheap motel. This place is nothing like in the promo pics, and don’t be fooled by the “Wyndham” brand. We paid more bc we expected a certain level of quality, but clearly Wyndham is garbage now. There is a lot of noise from the discount liquor store immediately across the street (my pic #1) and the constant traffic that never ends , which stinks bc the beds are literally feet from the street. The location is terrible, far from everything, and super trashy - stay closer to historic nature trail road if you want to be close to activities and nice stores/restaurants. We finally fell asleep around 2:40 am to wake up at 3 am to someone using a giant leaf blower to clean the streets and parking lot. No breakfast is served even though the site says there is and it seemed like only one person works in the broken down junky lobby, so I’m not sure where the food would go (or if you would want to eat it). They tried to remodel our room recently, but there was a big chunk out of the side of the old tub (they didn’t replace) and house keeping tried to hide it with a towel. Part of our night stand was never attached when assembled and there were no bedside lamps (there were holes for them though). They also don’t have conditioner. I thought it was a mistake, but nope, I guess they are saving money. Oh, and the river out back, the noise is so loud and constant that won’t want to sit there (see pics #2&3 to see what it’s really like). Avoid this place (and probably all Wyndham hotels).

The river view from the balconies is absolutely beautiful. We also really liked the location. You are close enough to walk to most of the attractions to save on parking, but far enough away to not get stuck in traffic and the chaos of the weekend night life. The walls did seem fairly thin and the street noise could keep you up or even wake you up if sirens went by. The rooms were clean, however we did have a hiccup with housekeeping that was quickly corrected after being brought to the front desk’s attention. Housekeeping came and took our towels but didn’t leave any new ones, take out the trash or make the beds when we were gone from 8-3. The rooms had mini fridges and microwaves however our fridge froze almost everything and there were no options to turn it down. Overall we enjoyed our stay here.

When we arrived we were told it was too early to check in to come back a little later we were even giving a parking permit for our car. When we came back the lady at the front desk told us our room was sold, she said she had no other room but then told us she could give us another room but it would cost us additional. We took the other room we realized there was no hot water when we went to take a shower. We told her there was no hot water and she said maybe you can bathe in one of your family's rooms there's nothing I can do. So we were left all night no hot water unable to take a bath. when we arrived we were told it was too early to check in to come back a little later we're even giving a parking permit for our car. Baymont is less than 1 Mile from downtown, a relatively walking distance. Each room has a balcony overlooking creek/river and hills with beautiful view but also a window to the street which brings traffic noise during the day but nights are quite.
The room is of OK size, not spacious, with comfortable bed, mini-fridge, small microwave, coffee maker, andWIFI is free but relatively slow about 4MBS.
Staff is friendly, but maintenance could be better. The cabinet door in my room could not be kept closed and remained wide open. The magnet that hold it was missing. Due to COVID 19, the usual free breakfast was not available. Parking is free but tight.

This has become our go to place to stay when we visit Gatlinburg. We’ve stayed here about 5 times in the last year . It does not disappoint. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Alethia is only name I remember and she’s the evening time desk host. She’s amazing and always calls me by name and just makes you feel more welcome. It’s conveniently located on the parkway right across from park liquor ( in case you want a drink ) it takes about 8 minutes to walk to Ole Reds and then you are among everything. You walk by the river the whole time so it’s nice . The rooms are very nice with the balcony on the river to soak in the air each morning and evening. Can’t wait to go back in November!

Excellent option for the money, and I am a frequent traveler who very rarely will make that statement. Each room has a private riverfront balcony, with good quality, heavy duty comfortable chairs. Fantastic location just one street off the busy / crowded main drag. Trolley stop in front of the hotel. Several great restaurants and shops within a short walk on the same street. Cute indoor pool with outdoor seating over looking the River. Breakfast had eggs, sausage, yogurt, cereal, muffins, waffle maker and additional bread related options. Coffee, juice and milk also available. Laundry machines available on site

We would happily return to this hotel should our travels bring us back to the area.

Totally agree with scottbeverly2004. The balconies overlooking the creek are beautiful but the housekeeping is awful,sub-par at best. It definitely needs a face-lift from the old nasty elavator to beat up railings, half working refrigerator to the god awful parking.
