Looking for a place with a pool for the kids while in town, we rented a family room at the Aspen Lodge. It amounted to a regular double room with a king bedroom attached. Not fancy, but very clean and pleasant hotel. The main TV in our room didn't work, could use a couple more chairs around the table since...

We had a view of the lake which was great and the room was in a fairly quiet location. We ventured out at 3am to see if we could catch the northern lights but found the card reader at the front door didn't work when we got back. Fortunately there was someone available via phone to let us in.

The Aspen Lodge is in the trendy and very scenic area of Grand Marais, Minnesota, on Lake Superior. This setting allows lodgings to charge nutty prices for rooms below an Econo-lodge quality. We came in to the area without a reservation and had to pay $132,00 plus tax, equaling $150.00, for an utterly plain, budget type room without even a...

Very nice hotel for the price, seems like it could use some " updating", but overall we are very pleased. Very hard to find a room for less than $100. Will come back if we are up here again. You can find any better for the price!

Aspen Lodge was a sight for travel weary eyes. It is a five hour trip from Minneapolis and Aspen welcomed us. We had a room on the third floor with a great view of Lake Superior and a whirlpool. The room was clean with a microwave and a refrigerator for leftovers. There was a little table and chairs next to...

The rooms were clean enough, no special amenitites. no conditioner, no bags for ice or wet suites. the break. very blah. They had a "continental" breakfast, but only consisted of dry foods, some yogurt, juices and coffee. no hot food! Coffee is not made till after 6am so if you need it by then, your out of luck. Again, ok...

We've spent over $700 a night for a week at a Penthouse in Las Vegas. We've cruised the Caribbean in owners suites. When I told my husband I rented this 2 star hotel for three nights, he balked. But we found it well located, clean, quiet, comfortable and welcoming. I was delighted at its good feeling. I would stay here...

Great little hotel right off the banks of Lake Superior. Nothing too fancy, but also not a shady hotel. Nice little breakfast with bread, fruit, yogurt and cereal. Pool/hottub looked a little sad when we walked in, but were actually very nice when we actually went to try them out. Very clean pool area, pool was warm and the hot...
