Reading some of the previous reviews, we were not expecting a lot. Many of the other preferred hotel/motels were closed in April. When we got to the room, it was about 90 degrees in there. We opened the almost-painted shut windows to get the temp down. Had to go get 2 extension cords for the fan and a CPAP machine....

Great location downtown, near everything within walking distance. For the price it's a nice place to stay. Nothing fancy but clean! No A/C and of course we went during a hot spell which is not typical - but they do provide a fan.

The view was great, but a lot of money to spend on a hotel that only had a view. Bed was so uncomfortable I tossed and turned all night. Breakfast was cereal and fruit, the muffins and bagels were stale. The juice tasted like kool aid.

Mold growing on the bathroom ceiling. Everything in the room looked like it was at least 20 years old, including the bedding, towels, and mattress. The TV was tiny, kept losing audio, and had lines running through the screen. Major water damage along the window sill. Huge stains in the carpet. The front desk is not staffed most of the...

I've been staying at the Shoreline on my north woods photography excursions for some years now. Always liked it for location and price. But this visit is very disappointing. Hit and miss housekeeping is annoying, but the real problem is the constant stench of tobacco smoke in my room. The place is supposedly smoke-free, but someone (or someones) is clearly...

Nice motel that is located right in the heart of town. Location is great and walking distance of most things. Room was clean and comfortable. View of Lake Superior is amazing and was more affordable than other places I found. Would definitely stay again.

I would stay here again. Large room with a nice size bathroom. Nice towels, comfy bed with a nice large window. A half a block walk to a great donut/coffee shop which you can enjoy on a nicely furnished patio right on the lake. Access to shops and restaurants in a short walk. Not the newest place, painting is not...

This was my first trip to Grand Marais and I read many reviews trying to determine a good place to stay. I knew from those that the hotel is in desperate need of some repairs, new windows, etc. but stay for the location and the view of the lake alone. We were able to park our car and walk to...

We spent 3 nights at the Shoreline Inn in late July. The location is FANTASTIC. The patio faces Lake Superior, and is within 20 feet of the water but about 6 feet above the shoreline so you have a great view not blocked by people waking by.. Restaurants and attractions in the town are all within walking distance. The staff...

We have stayed at the Shoreline Inn in Grand Marais around 8 times over the last 10 years. We have recommended it to other people. They have the BEST VIEW in Grand Marais and a great deck area to view Artists Point and Lake Superior. All that being said, I have no idea what is now happening with this property....
