We have dinner at Naniboujou every time we visit Grand Marais. It's a tradition. Their dining room is beyond description. Look it up and see the pics and read about the history. Very interesting place. The food is consistantly excellent but a bit pricey. Service is excellent, atmosphere relaxed and the location right on Lake Superior is spectacular.

Absolutely friendly and inviting. Our plans changed from staying at lodge to let's go camping instead, so without being a guest or having ever booked a room, we still got to walk the grounds and shoreline, check out the solarium and views and enjoy lunch. AMAZING food and presentation. Very simple, they don't have to do any more than what...

This historic lodge has much going for it. Definitely the food, friendly staff and peace and quiet. If you like a place where you don't even need to lock your doors, this is it. Restful. The solarium is a wonderful place to sit of an evening and read, play a game or visit. Don't stay here if you have young...

I found this lodge online by accident and it took me two years to finally get there. It was awesome in every respect. Certainly not for gadget addicted people; no cell phone, no computer and no TV, just nature pure which includes a beautiful stretch of beach on Lake Superior. The restaurant was outstanding, service was very friendly. Only one...

No cell phone service. No Wi-Fi. No television. No bar or lounge. Naniboujou offers none of these traditional lodging amenities. Instead a visitor gets the opportunity to take in the majestic beauty of Lake Superior, relax with a book or quiet conversation in the spacious sun room or deck and wander the spacious grounds. Walk across Highway 61 and enter...

Check the smart phone at the door. You're stepping back into solitude to commune with the majesty of Lake Superior and Minnesota's North Shore. Great facility--isolated and remote with a score of rooms. Great staff--always helpful and kind. Great dining room. Wonderful history. So colorful. Our typical routine consists of dinner in Grand Marais (Sven and Oles is a favorite),...

If you know what you're getting into, this place is amazing. Stay here for the beach & the lodge's peaceful main rooms. Stay here to walk directly across the hwy to hike Devil's Kettle. Stay here to enjoy impressively clean, small rooms with no distraction from a phone, tv, or internet. Our family has younger kids - don't stay here...

This is an historic lodge that opened shortly before the crash of 1929, and that has been through many changes since then. However, the original design and painting (described by someone as Cree Indian mixed with psychedelic art deco) in the dining area of the lodge is still completely intact and incredibly vivid and attractive. There is also a very...

This lodge is like no other place I've ever been. The dining room is simply stunning. Most of the guest rooms are small, but we don't spend much time there so it's not a big issue. They've always been clean, but on our most recent visit they were absolutely spotless! The rest of the lodge is homey (meaning comfortable if...

You really felt like you were stepping back in time at Naniboujou. We loved our breakfast and the service was stupendous. We walked around the grounds after eating and thoroughly enjoyed the views. I hope to return and actually stay in the lodge sometime.
