Driven past Hungry Jack many times on our way further down the trail. Stopped several years ago when the newest lodge was under construction. First time there the personnel are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Kitchen wasn't quite open yet for lunch but we were able to have drink and engage in conversation with the man... Have paddled the bwca 30 years ago for 15 years. Dues to health reasons not able to anymore but missed the north woods. Booked the Hungary Jack Lodge cause we had paddled the lake many times. The cabin is awesome with just the north woods feel. The fish tacos are out of this world. So recommend! And I am a... More

We planned this last minute get away with our son before he went back to school. We stayed in the campground and Hungry Jack Lodge exceeded our expectations! The facilities are beautiful and location is flawless. Our son is all about fishing and he was able to ride his bike to the dock for some of the best fishing on... More

My wife and I vacationed at Hungry Jack Lodge and Campground again. I honestly can't say how many times we have been there, but it is many times. As usual, the experience was tremendous. The owners (Forrest & Ericka) along with all of the staff, as always, were friendly, efficient, and courteous. The facilities and grounds were all well cared... More

We just loved our stay at the Hungry Jack Lodge. We were up in August 2016 for a fishing/hiking/boundary waters trip with our two sons. The setting is beautiful, the cabins were clean and comfortable, and everyone working there was kind and friendly. We loved the on site bar/restaurant for the convenience of not having to cook if we didn't... More

Staff provides the best service anywhere. Cabins are beautifully appointed inside and out with great views and most have a private dock on the lake. Looking for the best "north woods" experience, this is it! Loons included on the lake free of charge.

My family and I stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had both a cabin, which had recently been renovated, and a campsite for our kids. The cabin was better than what we had expected. It was furnished with more than we had anticipated, so we slightly over-packed. The kids enjoyed their campsite... More

Recently stayed at the Deer Lodge with another family for a 5 day stay. The cabin was clean and modern and had 2 separate living spaces, a great kitchen, 4 big bedrooms and 2 full baths. The deck/porch was also spacious and overlooked the dock. So yeah, you only spend so much time in the cabin so that first part... More

Decided to go to Hungry Jack for a birthday lunch as we hadn't seen the new lodge yet and heard they served a good burger. The lodge is beautiful, our food was great, the Walleye sandwich was one of the best fish sandwiches I have ever had. Prices were normal, service was good. Well worth the 30 mile drive up... More

Over the years this is always a stop along the trail for our group. My wife and I wanted a mid-week get away and took a snowmobile ride up the Gun Flint Trail. We stopped for gas for the snowmobile and lunch for the belly. Wife had Walleye sandwich and I had ribeye sandwich, both meals were excellent as always.... More

“We would suggest staying further away from the main lodge. The main lodge tends to get the most traffic (which is not much, but still some). The closer you stay to the lodge, the less quiet it will be.”

“Fox cabin is perfect for 1-3 people and has the best lake view. They also have bigger cabins to choose from if you have more in your group. There's even a huge cabin that would be perfect if you're having a family reunion.”

“There was no private space for a bon fire, and little privacy with the big Deer cabin. Go for the smaller, more rustic cabins right on the water.”
