After driving on crowded and stressful Route 180 we drove a few miles north and were greeting by a friendly and warm staff at BML. BML is set on the perimeter of Gila National Forest and is in a beautiful setting completely away from Silver City. The main lodge has a dining room and a large lounge area which is...

We visited on a weekend in late March. Upon arrival we first noticed a large group of folks who turned out to be local artists and photographers. The Lodge was hosting a competition paintings and photos of birds. A perfect intro, since the lodge is decorated with sculptures, paintings, etc. from local artists. While the lodge is quite old, it's...

A travel writer friend told us this was his favorite place to stay in all of New Mexico, so we made a detour on our way to Tucson for a night. Next time, it will be our destination - what a place! It was the highlight of a wonderful vacation week in the Southwest. Breakfast was fantastic, and we enjoyed...

My mom used to come here - now I know why. I stayed one night to get away while recovering from an injury. I stayed in the sparkling clean ADA room which met all my needs. Room (and entire lodge) was tastefully decorated and maintained. The food was fresh, simple, and beautifully prepared. They provided me a delicious gluten free/dairy...

This was our second visit to Bear Mountain Lodge - the first visit being about 20 years ago - and definitely a different experience. The accommodations are unassumingly luxurious. A quiet drive from town into the foothills. Watched deer raid the birdfeeder and visited the black-feathered chickens and horse on the property. The lodge is tastefully decorated with interesting artwork....

This is our second time to stay at Bear Mountain Lodge, and we just love it! We stayed two nights, meeting a friend there. Jeff is a wonderful host and cook, and we enjoyed Laurie and Kyle who served our dinner the first evening, and breakfast our first morning. The Leopold room was wonderful- the linens, mattress, beautifully tiled bathroom,...

Over the last weekend, 11-12 March 2017, my wife Sandy and I spent some quality time at Bear Mountain Lodge in Silver City NM. Linda welcomed us and showed us around when we arrived. Since we brought “Honey”, our four legged family member, we spent our time in the Hummingbird. It was very quite at night and had everything we...

We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff, including the dogs, were warm, inviting and helpful. Our room, Cabeza de vaca, in the Main building was large and comfortAble. We walked a couple of the trails on the property, which are pleasant walks for before breakfast or after dinner, or any other time for that matter. The dining room is...

We spent two nights visiting the Silver City area with friends. The last mile or so up a dirt road had us wondering, but, as the lodge came into view our hopes rose. Open the front door and all fears were completely put to rest. Linda and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, you really feel like you are...

This historic Lodge sits on several acres nestled in the mountains outside Silver City. It has been beautifully restored. The many rooms are spacious and comfortable - each has outdoor patio or balcony. Rustic dining room is filled with interesting artwork as is the entire lodge - and for sale!
