Recently spent two nights here while visiting Silver. If you are looking for a hotel with all the modern conveniences, this is most likely not your spot. It's a great, historic building, but it is a little noisy, creaky floorboards, the doors to the rooms don't seal tightly, and there are a few quirks. However, the staff is friendly and...

You never know what to expect when booking a hotel on-line. Well, the Palace exceeded our expectations. First the lobby is exactly as it looks on the Web. Really quaint and very much of the period. Check-in was pleasant and rapid. We loved our room. They had actually 'upgraded' us to a two room suite (though unless my wife banishes...

Cute, fun and welcoming hotel in the heart of Silver City. They upgraded our room to a suite which is fabulous. It is right on the street. The hotel lobby is adorable. You feel as if you have been transported back in time. Can walk to all the unique shops and restaurants. We usually stay in chain hotels but loved...

Built in the era of candle lighting, the owner has worked hard to modernize the building without losing the charm, and done fairly well in our book. The stairway may be too challenging for older folks, but the upstairs was sure cute - and hey that's where the rooms are. The next time we go we want Miss Millies room,...

We spent a night in this charming historic hotel in downtown Silver City. The service was good and they offered a lovely breakfast. I loved the decor and the convenience to downtown Silver City. The rooms have character and are very comfortable.

The Palace has a great location and polite staff. The actual hotel leaves a lot to. E desired. There is no central heat which is expected for such an old place. However the fan in the room had the chain to the light to short. So sleep with the light in your face or be hot. I told front desk...

I do appreciate your feedback about the smoke detector being removed, it has been replaced. Also, at present, the 1928 extra deep five foot long bathtubs are being refinished. I am pleased that substituting the use of theceiling fan with a floor fan was satisfactory for you. I do wish to clear up your misconception about our heating system which...

Nice hotel. Great location. Wonderfully friendly hosts. Good restaurants close by. Staying here in this hotel was revisiting a past era....in a good way. our room met our needs. The breakfast room (included in price) itself was very dark to suit our tastes... breakfast offerings nothing special but adequate.

Thank you for your kind words about your stay. The breakfast lobby does have a large skylight and perhaps it was still dark outside or the lighting had not been turned on. I always appreciate your thoughts and comments, because our guests are are number one priority.

The Palace Hotel is right downtown Silver City, in the old historic district, near art stores, a bookstore, restaurants, and so on. So we stayed there, but for sure we won't make that mistake again, especially not room 55. For starters the hotel turns on the steam heat only for about an hour and a half in the evening and...
