The William Vale is a contemporary luxury hotel in the heart of Williamsburg, featuring world-class hospitality, breathtaking views, elevated public green space, and the longest outdoor pool in NYC. All 183 rooms and suites at The William Vale feature floor-to-ceiling windows, open-air balconies, and spectacular views of New York City and its boroughs. Award-winning chef Andrew Carmellini directs The William Vale’s distinct culinary concepts: Leuca, a Southern Italian restaurant with wood-fired coastal cuisine in a casually elegant atmosphere; Westlight, a 22nd-floor rooftop bar, serving rare spirits, craft cocktails and small plates with panoramic skyline views. Located across the river from Manhattan, The William Vale is easily accessible from LGA (15 min) and JFK (25 min) airports by taxi, and a 10-minute walk to the Bedford L subway stop into Manhattan.

The William Vale, nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, garners acclaim for its attentive service and prime location, offering seamless access to local sights and Manhattan. While guests have called out the stylish atmosphere and panoramic views from well-appointed rooms, some have noted that the ambiance can be compromised by loud music.
The compact room size and additional charges, particularly for pool access, have led some to question the hotel's value. Despite generally high marks for cleanliness, a few travelers have experienced inconsistent room cleaning services.

My son, a native New Yorker, insisted I stay at this hotel, so I did! WOW! What a great experience! I had a fab view of NYC from a balcony, my room was top notch, there was a great vibe joint upstairs w food and the Lyft picked me up right out front! Quite a great experience.

My family and I stayed here for July 4th weekend. We have lived in NY our whole lives but have not spent a lot of time in Brooklyn. Each room was thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival, there was complimentary hand sanitizer, soap and hand wipes as well. We had a nice and breezy check-in process, all staff and guests are wearing masks. If you don't have one, the hotel offers their own logo face masks for everyone. We didn't know the area so the staff had a bunch of local coffee, shopping, and park recommendations for us. Prime location, easy to access by bike, walking, and or subway into Manhattan.
We enjoyed the outdoor pool, safe for children to swim in, and also bar service right there if you need a drink. You are briefed before entering the pool area, everyone must wear masks walking around, but not inside the pool. The hotel staff took the precautions and safety requirements at the pool and public hotel areas. Breakfast was takeaway only (as per covid), there were different selections every day such as fresh granola, juices, and coffee.

my boyfriend and i recently stayed at the william vale. very clean and well laid out hotel room, felt very comfortable. small, but the layout was nice so felt like enough space. we booked this mainly to use the hotel amenities, mostly the pool, which was also very nice. also, we stayed during the covid 19 pandemic, and felt very safe the whole time - there's lysol/purell everywhere. breakfast was included (a little lacking, just some cereal, coffee, and juice), was expecting a bit more. overall a great stay, but if you're visiting new york as a tourist and not utilizing the hotel amenities/will be out not sure if it's worth staying here when you can find something cheaper and a little more accessible.

We came here for our staycation honeymoon and ended up checking out a day early. They fell woefully short of their own COVID-19 safety standards; we couldn't sleep because our next door neighbors were so loud; and, shocking for a hotel at this price range, didn't get a congratulations—let alone an upgrade or even a bottle of wine—when we mentioned several times during booking and check-in that we were on our honeymoon.
When I confirmed our stay over the phone and when we checked in, we were told twice that no one, including no cleaning staff, would come into our room after we checked in because of health safety reasons. Terrific. We get into our hotel room and wipe down everything and open the door to air it out just in case. But after taking a walk, we return to find bed made, bathroom cleaned, etc. I call downstairs, and the front desk person said they still clean the room but don't offer turndown service, contradicting what we'd been told twice before. We asked them not to enter the room again. Then there was the elevator. They have signs posted that only one person or "room" can be inside at once. Guests openly flouted this, and one even got aggressive with us when we asked he not share our elevator. He entered anyway, and we exited. Not the hotel's fault, but maybe more signs?
Okay, now to the noise. A lot of this is probably due to location. We live in New York, and while things have been ramping up again in Manhattan, nobody is partying quite like they are in Williamsburg. When we checked in, we were put in a room next to a guy who was playing music so loudly our room was rattling. After planning a small but hectic COVID wedding, all we wanted to do was sleep, so we asked to be moved. Our second room was fine on the first night, but then on the second night, we were awoken around 12:30 am from loud music and shouting next door. We called downstairs and asked them to deal with it. Someone came up, knocked on our neighbors door, and the music quieted down for a few minutes before blaring even more loudly than before. We were up until 2:30 am that night unable to sleep. We decided to check out a day early so we could sleep at home that night. The front desk was really understanding and refunded us the next night as well as giving us a modest discount on the night prior.
And if you are planning on celebrating a special occasion, skip this hotel. I was surprised we didn't even get a verbal "congrats." Maybe at another hotel next year.

This is budget service pretending to be luxury. Late check out was a $75/hour cost and I had to check the morning of checkout. Really? You can’t give me two hours late check out as a courtesy when I’ve booked one of your top suites for the weekend?
Good luck calling room service. They just don’t answer. We went down in person to the front desk to try to order and they said they would have room service call us as soon as they were available. No one ever called. We finally had to leave the hotel in search of food. My room had a large wrap around balcony and the furniture has been piled in a corner and the cushions removed and they wouldn’t put them back. The wifi booted me off every five minutes. The room was so noisy. You could hear cars and construction constantly from early in the morning. I guess they need some better double glazing on those windows. Limited amenities - no shower cap or manicure or whatever else you might want. Just the basis shampoo, conditioner, body wash. All-in-all it felt very much like a cheap budget experience that I paid luxury prices for.

I would definitely recommend to stay here if you are visiting Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Very friendly valet staff, Peter outstanding
greeter and bellman. One of the best we have ever had at any hotel
Check In was ok, was told we received upgrade, never explained what upgrade.
Room was clean, very small and view was not of Manhattan. We called about upgrade and was not explained to our satisfaction.
Rooftop views were amazing and the food was superb. We attended a party there. The service was excellent.
A couple of glitches. Asked for turn down service, not done.
Would be concerned if hotel is busy could it serve the guests well ?
At checkout front desk did credit $40 towards our room stay for turn down service not being done which was a nice surprise. We did not ask. But on the other hand we were told and had a room package with breakfast included. We were charged $15 for breakfast which we knew was not for gratuity because there was not a place for gratuity in the breakfast bill and we gave our lovely server cash. The front desk receptionist said it was for overage? And again not explained.
With a little better management and the ability to handle more people, The William Vale has 5 star potential for Williamsburg and an excellent location there.
Ask for Peter to guide you and you won’t be disappointed by his demeanor and service

I was extremely excited to visit a William Vale as they claim to be Brooklyn’s only true luxury hotel. Before arriving last weekend I had tried calling the property multiple times to see if they had on site parking as it is not clear on their website. I found it extremely alarming that every single time I was put on hold and had to listen to a five minute recorded Audio only to be hung up on right after the audio is finished playing. When we were arrived everything was fine Until we had to call the front desk so we actually used the phone that was in the room and it still wouldn’t connect us to the front desk and hung up on us multiple times. We went down to ask for more towels in person and explain to them that we had tried to call in multiple times in multiple ways but they were unapologetic… When we left for dinner and when we return to the hotel we did not have towels waiting for us so we tried to call again and the cycle continues… Very very terrible service for something that causes self a luxury hotel we will not be returning

Very disappointed. 1) the guy at the front desk was very rude when I checked in 2) they give no sort of priority to hotel guests for rooftop which is CRAZY for 600 dollars a night. When I asked about “if it would be a problem to get drinks on the rooftop without a res the guy at the front desk replied “yes very much so” 3) from an environmental perspective, hotels that are charging THIS much should really be investing in sustainability which is clearly not important to them. Fiji water bottles in the room instead of glass. Plus the shower products are all little plastic bottles that are not recyclable and creates SOOOO much waste. if they want to be considered a 5 star hotel this is certainly a cheesy look for 2021. They should look to a hotel like the 1hotel by Brooklyn bridge which has filtered water in the rooms, no plastic and refillable zero-waste shampoos/conditioners, soaps in the rooms. There are sooo many options out there for zero-waste, there is no excuse for a hotel to not incorporate this at this point.

+1
So first of all, I ended up booking the wrong date and the place was at capacity, and the hotel manager which was very nice still got me a room for the same rate, this was awesome. I could only give it an average score because of the lack of a decent menu from the restaurant “My hamburger was horrible”, closed garden area, and horrible breakfast “parfait”. Room was small, but nice and the view was amazing. Hotel was very clean and it had a younger hip staff which was decent. Gym was great, nice and clean. Bottled water, towels and individual sealed headphones were provided. I’m sure if we were to book before Covid I could give it a better review. Mind you this review is not a knock on the establishment, because I get it, I get what they have to deal with during these times. Maybe next month when I go back I will stay again and review it. These reviews will soon be on a YouTube channel we are making. We have trips from all around the US to all around Europe, they’re still planning reviews that I have saved that need to be uploaded. It was finally good to write something nice and this review was long overdue for The William Vale. Keep the fire burning The William Vale, good on you, and we look forward to another stay!!

The William Vale touts "modern luxury ... offering impeccable service, spectacular views, and stunning room design" and I could not disagree more. At it's price point per night, you would expect a quality experience and unfortunately they missed the mark in nearly every area. Our welcome experience checking in was friendly enough, although there was not bell man or valet option. We went up to our initial room and it had not been serviced (incredibly dirty). They moved us to another room, which was a timely process and the room as clean enough. However, the concierge and maid service was awful. We needed extra blankets and pillows because our third guest (now had to because they moved us from one double room to a room with a king and a pull out couch) had to sleep on the pull out couch and they did not bring pillows or blankets for a full 24 hours, leaving our guest to have to use a towel as a blanket. All of this being said, we tried to be understanding as they kept informing us they were "understaffed" although the hotel was clearly not close to capacity. To that point, the pool service was awful. At The William Vale you are required to book pool reservations (which seems harmless enough on a busy weekend). There were two instances where they asked us to leave (both the front pool and back terrace area) due to "demand", however there were no seats taken. Again, on a busy summer day that would be understandable but no one showed up to the "fully booked reservations". Incredibly disappointed in the service and overall stay at The William Vale. We travel to New York frequently and fully appreciate the value a quality hotel has. Needless to say, we will not be booking again.

Response from David Lemmond, General Manager at The William Vale
Responded 14 Jul 2020
Dear cf12020 - Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent visit. I am so sorry that your visiting guest was not accommodated with bedding for the sleeper sofa in your suite. While staffing at the Hotel is diminished following our recent shut down, this basic request should have been honored in a timely manner. Your upgrade from a Double Room to a Suite was intended to show our intention that you should have the best experience possible! We have not yet brought our Concierge team back on board as of now. The pool and your experience there is now completely different than at any previous time, we limit the length of time guests can stay poolside so that all of our guests can book time poolside. It sounds like we did accommodate you with additional time at the pool by requesting you enjoy the space on the terrace instead of the poolside space you started your day with. The limited capacity we currently have available poolside, may seem like we are not hitting capacity, but we are consistently booking all of the spaces poolside. We ask guests to vacate those spaces so that we can clean the loungers for the next reservation. These are all a part of our effort to keep people safe in a clean environment. The accommodations we are making in providing our modern luxury service may feel different to you, but they are essential. We know you have choices to make when selecting a Hotel that suits your needs, we do hope you will come back to The William Vale in the future. All best, David David Lemmond General Manager
