My husband and I stayed at The Brooklyn last week while visiting our daughter for a well-deserved time off. I had expressed to the hotel that we were there to chill and take care of ourselves for a few days.

We stayed Saturday evening w my daughter and her friend. Loved the room, large (400+ sf, with a divided space for privacy); comfortable bed/clean as a whistle-perfect. Staff: professional, courteous, and PATIENT. Helpful in getting us oriented w the area, too.

Most of the rooms face Atlantic Ave and the windows are a few feet from the subway train track. It seems they spent too much money with other elements in the room and no money on good noise proof window and that makes no sense...More
We took a trip to New York recently and stayed at The Brooklyn hotel for 3 days to experience something different. Many hotels pay lip service to friendly service but these guys were the real deal. We were celebrating a birthday which we mentioned in...More

We only spent one night at the hotel but it was a great one. We had a complimentary upgrade and the room was marvelous! VERY BIG for New York City. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was pretty good.

The advertisement for the hotel says “near the subway.” We drove in from MD. So I can’t confirm subway location. That said if you are coming in with children this is not the hotel for you. Trust me. It’s a neighborhood in transition. Lots of trash on sidewalks and no “nice” shops or restaurants near by. We did stay in Manhattan recently at 2 reasonably priced hotels called The Lex and Gatsby Hotel. Either of these would be much better neighborhood wise if traveling with children. Rooms are small but how much time do you really spend in your room when in NY. Hope this helps.
