Wyndham Garden Brooklyn Sunset Park is often celebrated for its excellent location, offering easy access to subways and city hotspots. The hotel's cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere are well-regarded by guests, who also approve of the comfortable beds and tasteful room decor. While the hotel's amenities generally meet traveler expectations, some guests have had mixed experiences, particularly with room service. Although the rooms are praised, concerns about their size and ventilation have been noted. Travelers commend the service for its responsiveness and attentiveness, despite occasional service hiccups. The hotel's value is recognized, yet some guests find added costs for services like breakfast and parking to be on the higher side.

Stayed at this property while in town for an overnight and was generally pleased. The rooms are quite small, however the bed and pillows were comfortable and the view from the top floor facing the city was enjoyable. Parking was an additional fee, but it was conveniently located on hotel property. All Covid rules were followed and felt safe for the duration of our stay. The hotel was quiet and allowed for good rest during the night.

I would recommend for future stays in this area.

I am originally from Brooklyn and planned to visit for the holidays. I needed to stay in a hotel for a week before I could stay with a friend for the rest of my trip. However, being a Brooklynite I know the hotels in Brooklyn are typically horrible. They are dirty and full of shady people and I was concerned.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel is in Sunset Park and right now it's primarily an older hispanic and asian community. Neighborhood looks rough but its deceiving...it is safe.

Talk about being in a convenient location: there is a laundromat right across the street from the hotel, there is every restaurant you need down the block, a great diner, barber shop, a church 2 blocks away and buses and subways close by.

The hotel was very clean: lobby, rooms, etc. The staff was very friendly and very professional too.

The price of the room is very reasonable and they don't tolerate shady people. If you smoke in their rooms, you get nailed for $250.00. Great policy.

Next time I am in Brooklyn...this is the ONLY hotel I will stay in.

Highly recommended.

At our stay the hotel was very accommodating on letting us park our car early to enjoy the city while our room was prepared. Edwin at the front desk was so kind and amazing. Made us quite literally feel at home! I was blown away by his expert customer service and other interpersonal skills. The check in process with him was super easy as well as the checkout process!!! You rock Edwin!!

The pics they took made it seem as if the rooms are bigger. They are not! The room was clean. The parking was horrible and they know that that’s why they get you with the $30 parking that you don’t get back. Which is quite RIDICULOUS! They also don’t tell you they hold a extra $20 incase you decide to use anything like the coffee machine and silver ware in the room!

I booked three nights here to quarantine for a possible shoot at the end of the week. When I got there, the room did not seem very clean, I was very uncomfortable, the sheets had some stains on them, there were some stains on the furniture and the ceiling, and what seemed to be a massive blood splatter on the curtains. I was prepared to stick it out but got a call about an hour after I checked in that the shoot was cancelled and the quarantine was no longer necessary. I didn't even unpack my bags, so I went right back down to check in and asked to be checked out and possibly refunded for the two nights I wouldn't be staying. Of course since id been in the room, sat on the bed, used the bathroom/handsoap etc, I would need to pay for a full night there, but they told me their policy called for me to pay for the full room, there would be no refunds and I was subject to service fees. I called chase (i booked through chase travel) and they said they were at the mercy of the hotel's policies and so what they said goes. The desk was not helpful or understanding, and when I mentioned the BLOOD on the CURTAINS the front desk employee said "okay, well we'll check on that." and that was it, really no attempt at help at all, I just sunk 500+ dollars on a room I wasn't in for more than an hour, that someone bled in before me so, yeah. Don't stay here. super frustrated and disappointed. Even if i had stayed, blood on the curtains? Come on.

The night shift desk person was unpleasant. The parking situation was horrendous. We were lucky that the person I brought with me knew the area. It literally took an hour one night and a hour and a half the next night to find parking. They should caution visitors against bringing a car. The irony was that the laundromat parking lot was empty! They should do what it takes to lease a row of parking at the very least from 9pm-9am - or buy the laundromat, it never seemed busy.
The room was the saving grace! It was very clean and trendy. It was a petite room with two full beds, but you could get around all sides of the beds. The glass wall was disturbing because it lit up the whole room. But the bathroom was really sweet. I did like the look and feel of it all.

Hotel located in Brooklyn in a fairly isolated location near the sunset park, about 10 minutes walk from the subway station (I chose it for that); the station has no elevator, so if you have suitcases in tow there are a couple of ramps to tackle.
But what nobody says is that to get to Manhattan it takes about 40 minutes, having to cross the busy Manhattan Bridge (yes, even the subways have traffic lights) and then it is practically impossible to return at a certain time and then succeed; we opted to go out in the morning with evening return after dinner: so there is a loss of about 1 hour and a half.
About the hotel I point out that even in this (despite the quote was specified the item "Taxes & Fees") you can never quite understand how much you have to pay precisely: apart from the wrong charge of $1000 instead of $100 "for security" (which was communicated to us on the spot despite having exchanged several emails with the structure) that forced me to have an amount locked on a card that I would not have used (Revolut was pre-charged by more than $200 compared to the amount requested; if the amount reflected reality the transaction would have been successful) even the total "Taxes & Fees" was not adherent to reality considered that the tax was not included in the stay.
Going into detail, the general cleaning of the lobby / floors / elevator is good, while in the room they failed the test of the piece of paper (deliberately dropped on the carpet on the 1st day and that kept us company until the 5th day): the bathroom is separated from the bedroom by an opaque glass that certainly does not realize the privacy of a wall. Obviously not being in Italy there is no bidet, but if there had been a shower in the shower presumably we would have consumed less hot water and used fewer towels; there being only the shower head at the top, or you take a shower or... you take a shower.
Returning to the room I point out that it is very small (we had to put the suitcases under the bed to be able to move more easily) and that it is unfortunately without a window: the glass that takes the whole wall is sealed (aquarium model) and the air circulation is only through the ventilation / air conditioning system of the room (hopefully at least change / clean the filters regularly).
However friendly staff especially at reception and possibility to leave luggage in custody at check out on the last day.

The Wyndham Garden Hotel was our safe haven during a personal storm. The staff, accommodations and parking were a blessing. I wish you had a little more parking but I know that goes with the territory especially in Brooklyn where parking is at a premium. Rooms were modern with nice amenities and a small refrigerator for drinks and snacks. There were plenty of food options in the area especially if you are a little adventurous you can find some wonderful bargains. The staff were very accommodating especially to the two requests that we had. 39th St. is not an aesthetically beautiful block however the Wyndham classes up the street and remain A solid choice for accommodations in Brooklyn.

Hotel was clean and well-maintained, front desk staff was excellent. My room had a desk/workspace, safe, and closet that included an ironing board, iron, and a safe. Rooms are compact, as normal for NYC, but not stupid small. The bathroom in the room had translucent glass walls. Potentially *very* awkward depending on who you're traveling with.

There was a restaurant that I saw many people eating breakfast at, but I didn't try it. There was usually free lemonade and chocolate chip cookies in the lobby, a nice touch.

Location was just a few blocks from a subway station that went to Penn Station and Times Square. Hotel is in a vibrant neighborhood with central american restaurants and food stores. There's also a McDonalds nearby if that suits you better!

Parking was $40/day + tax, for about $44 total. I found street parking literally across the street for 2 of my nights, so only had to pay for one night.

I would have given this 5 stars except for the always-irritating "resort fee" or whatever it is called, that gets added on at the end. It was $10/night. There should be a law that hotels can't quote a price without including that.

Edwin is a phenomenal guest service rep. I've been traveling to NYC for my company back and forth since July 21'. When I first started coming here to NYC I was staying at another hotel and having terrible experiences and interactions with the front desk. My manager suggested this hotel and I'm so glad she did. Edwin is usually the person on the desk when I arrive on Sundays and he has always made my experiences at check in smooth and stress free. Even when my company dropped the ball a couple of times, he ensured that it didn't greatly affect me or put me out. He always has my paperwork ready to go and I appreciate the detail of him giving me the same room or a similar room each time. He is kind and patient even when I'm cranky from the sometimes 6 hour drive in from Massachusetts. Thank you Edwin you're amazing. I appreciate all of your efforts. The other front desk staff are also very nice for the most part. Everyone is helpful and attentive. Thanks to the two younger guys that let me park my car out front to load my luggage in the middle of the night when parking was full. That was clutch.
