Detailed Reviews
Back at Henry Norman after a five year gap, how pleased we were to find the same level of comfort, style and welcome! The hotel seems to have enlarged but not lost the personal touch. The staff is young, cheerful and friendly and the facilities excellent. The addition of a guest laundry room was a boon after three weeks away, the rooms are still very well equipped, large and comfortable with all you could need.
Although we didn’t need to use it, the complimentary shuttle service would be helpful to anyone new to the neighbourhood since the hotel is a little out of the way of the main streets and subway. However, the walk offers up some genuine Brooklyn experiences such as the Polish Bakery, the Manhattan diner, Peter Pan Donuts and an array of small convenience stores.

We had only a brief stay while in town for family matters, but the hotel is extremely well-run and well-appointed. Although I don't usually pay much attention to decor, the interior design of the public space as well as the room is really striking and adds a great deal to how pleasant it was stay there. The hotel rooms are large by New York standards and the high ceilings add to the sense of having plenty of space. The staff go above and beyond to be helpful, the local shuttle is a godsend, and the upkeep is meticulous. I think the term "boutique hotel" is sometimes a stretch, but not in this case. The Henry Norman is highly recommended.

We stayed at the Henry Norman while in Brooklyn for a wedding weekend. The location was great and we were able to walk to everywhere in Williamsburg where the event took place. The hotel room was the typically small size of NYC hotels, but very efficiently designed so we never felt crowded or disorganized. Our room (315) had a large balcony with table and chairs and was a nice touch. Free on-street parking is easy to find which is a bonus. The hotel provided use of umbrellas and free bottled water. The only improvement would we could have used more storage room or shelving in the bathroom for multiple toiletry kits.

Loved our stay in Greenpoint. The hotel has a complimentary car service within a mile of the hotel which is amazing if you are visiting in the middle of summer or winter and the weather isn't ideal for walking. Each morning one of the lovely staff would drop us at Five Leaves café for a great coffee then we'd walk from there or catch the subway from the stop there. Julian, Ronnie, Anabel & Zach made us feel at home in Brooklyn, thanks for a great stay.

We had a fantastic stay at the Henry Norman hotel! There was an adjustment that had to be made to our reservation on their end but they communicated it with us and were responsive to calls when we had questions. A very easy walk to the main street in Greenpoint and the subway to get into Manhattan. We loved the interior of the building - very unique and with a fun boutique hotel vibe. We also loved the old cars parked outside - a perfect backdrop for photos before the wedding we were in town for. Our room was very spacious which was a welcomed surprise after hearing from friends staying nearby who had very small rooms. The bed was comfortable and the noise was barely of passing cars/trucks was barely noticeable compared to other parts of the city. Kia checked us in and was very friendly. We went straight for the terrace which has good views of Manhattan. Nigel checked is out and made storing our bags for the day very easy. I would highly commend staying here - we will be back and now have a lot of interest in checking out their other properties like the Box house because of how much we loved this hotel!

We had again a great time at this Hotel.
The employees are very friendly and do anything for you. Specially Robbie and Anabel are great!
It's located in a quiet area. Nearby Subway for traveling.
Polish bakery nearby for bread or something delicious inbetween.
In the morning a small breakfast table is inviting you to take something from it to start the day.

Henry Norman Hotel has some of the friendliest, professional and competent staff we have experienced. The hotel is immaculately clean, shuttle service in neighborhood outstanding, morning coffee and pastries delicious and convenient. Rooms are comfortable with generous closets and storage areas that make a longer stay more comfortable. (Thanks to Nigel, Ronnie, Anabel, Zachary, Peobo, Josaih, Sam, Odari, Lech, Junan, Greg for a delightful stay.)

Stayed here for 10 days due to a family situation. Had been to Brooklyn many times but had never stayed at the Henry Norman. What a mistake it was to have never stayed here before. It was our best experience ever at a Brooklyn Hotel. The rooms were clean and large, the amenities all worked, the location was walking distance to Nassau and Manhattan Av. Best of all though were the staff. The Housekeeping staff were always asking if we needed anything and the front desk were always helpful with dining suggestions and would always greeted us on arrival and departure. At one time our hot water was not working well and they immediately arranged for us to wash up in another room while arranging for Maintenance to quickly restore the hot water. We experienced several hosts at the front desk and want to specifically call out Jory, Vincent, Issaiha and Mariah. Thank you so much for making our stay very pleasant during a difficult visit.

Finally doing the review I should of done months ago !!!!
Have children in the area, came to visit. Always trying new places to stay in the area but I think this one is going to be my keeper if they survive Covid. First that staff are amazing Ronnie and Anabel at the front desk were amazing and had tons of advice and Information and the drivers Odian and Greg , one of them came out to help me with my luggage mind you I was parked across the street which I know he didn’t have to do and also he informed me that I was parked on the wrong side of the street for nighttime cleaning and I would get a ticket.
Back to the hotel huge rooms for Brooklyn . Clean Clean Clean !!!! Love the art and decor .
The “breakfast” could have a few added things so it doesn’t run out so quickly. Also not much in walking distance this is where the shuttle comes in handy. Keep it up guys can’t wait to see you soon .

My husband and I stayed at the Henry Norman Hotel last night and our experience was even more delightful than before. This hotel is our “go to” when we are visiting our kids for the weekend in Brooklyn. This hotel only gets better. The newest lovely addition is their complimentary continental breakfast served every morning. The coffee was delish and it’s such an extra nice touch that most hotels don’t offer. We also were thrilled with how spotless our room was. Housekeeping does an amazing job and I’m very picky about that!
The bed was comfy and the bathroom was well lit… unlike most NYC hotels which are always so dark.
The front desk young lady, Mannon was very friendly and helpful and their manager, Nigel, is always a pleasure. He seems to be the heart and soul of this warm and fabulous hotel. Highly highly recommended!!
