Hotel's Favourite
Without a doubt the best hotel team I have come across. My trip to NYC was fraught with problems. late arrival, lost bag, you name it. When I checked in they got me a welcome bag of essentials to get me through the night and morning. It made the difference in my attitude when I gave a presentation in the same clothes I traveled in. This location is great and an easy walk to just about anything you want or need in Brooklyn. This was not the usual hotel we stay in when we meet in NYC, but it will be from now on! Oh, and the breakfast was awesome each morning!

When we arrived to the hotel, we were greeted by Brian at the front desk. He was very friendly. We were unable to check in at that time, it was 10 am, however, he offered to store our bags in a locked room and we were able to go about the city and meet up with our son. While we were out I got a text that our room was ready. When we arrived back at the hotel Brian informed us that our bags were in our room. He had already checked us in and gave us our keys. The room was very clean, small, but had plenty of room/furniture to accommodate our clothes and bags. The bed and pillows, super comfortable! The lobby was small and quaint, clean and offered coffee, tea, hot water and the accompaniments 24 hours a day. The included breakfast was a welcoming start to our busy day as well as the ambiance of the dining area. There is a bar and restaurant which we did not get to experience on this stay as well as an outdoor patio which was closed during the time we were there (it was 30 degrees during our stay!) The location of this hotel is great, a short walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown in Manhattan (a walk across the bridge), restaurants and several train stations. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to NYC in the summer. As a side note, LaGuardia is much closer than JFK to this hotel, something to consider if you are taking an Uber or public transportation. Also the time of day and day of week traveling to and from the airport will impact the travel time as well as the cost. We flew into JFK at 9am on a Saturday, trip time by Uber was 30 minutes, cost was $51. We flew back home on a Monday, 6:30 pm flight. Our travel time to JFK was 1 hour 5 minutes, cost $98

The hotel staff are knowledgeable about the area and how to get around by mass transit. The complimentary breakfast was good. It can get crowded during the weekend but we always managed to find a table. The room was clean and quiet. The free internet with Hilton Honors membership was sufficient for our needs and worked well. The location is great to explore Brooklyn by foot and is not very far from the train and subway station.

This was my first visit to Brooklyn since COVID, and I was pretty nervous about travel.
I am so glad I chose to return to the Hampton Inn Brooklyn/Downtown—my room was spotlessly clean, check in was easy and the hotel staff were really helpful about finding convenient food, loaning me an umbrella during unexpected rain, and helping me with directions.
I really liked my King bed room, and loved the option of having a room with a refrigerator. Great shower.
In the few years since I had last stayed here several restaurants have opened up within a block of the hotel—I had some great Japanese take out one night, and excellent pizza from Pizza Rosso the next night. There is also a Starbuck’s just behind the hotel.
The only down side I can think of is that traffic on Flatbush Avenue is definitely loud (and New Yorkers LOVE their horns) so that even on the 11th floor I was definitely aware of the traffic noises. But it is New York after all...

We always stay here when we visit our daughter in Brooklyn. This Hampton Inn is consistently friendly, breakfast is fresh and tasty, and the rooms have great views of the city. The rates are reasonable for NYC, as well.

The property is very clean; staff constantly are cleaning on the premise. Location is good with easy access to two subway stations at Jay Street-MetroTech and DeKalb Avenue (we could not determine which one is closer of the two) , as both are within 10 minutes walk.
Great staff and service provided by front desk personnel as well as breakfast attendants. They are friendly and helpful.
Our two double beds room is comfortable and equipped with a mini-fridge. The windows were great in shutting out traffic noises; we like the ability to open one of the window for fresh air, and it is quiet as could reasonably expected with it closed for sleeping in our mid-level room.
The spread at the breakfast buffet is wonderful, with choices of fruits, juice, coffee, tea, water (hot and cold), cereals, yogurts, oatmeal, 4 waffle machines, bagel, slice bread, and muffin. In addition, there are two chafing pans of hot items, which rotate daily between scramble eggs, variations of omelets, sausages, bacons, french toast sticks, hash browns and sauté potato slices.
We also appreciate being in close proximity to Dekalb Market Hall, where there is Trader Joe's, Katz Deli (best pastrami sandwiches and matzo ball soup!), Ample Hills creamery (unique ice cream flavors), and other selections of food and beverage vendors, which offer wide array of food options for lunch or dinner.

For my 23rd birthday, my dad booked a two-night stay at the Downtown Brooklyn Hampton Inn for me and my boyfriend. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had a great experience!
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by friendly concierges—Emily and Molly—who welcomed me with smiles! Since I was coming directly from Cabo San Lucas, MX, I had ordered several packages to the hotel. They immediately handed those over to me, and were super helpful.
After a long day of travel, I was eager to use the gym, and the Fitness Center did not disappoint. Several treadmills, a couple of bikes, free weights, and a couple of machines were available. The best part? I was the only one in the gym! Always a plus.
As for the room, the bed was incredibly comfortable; the room was clean and warm; the water pressure in the shower was solid; and a few amenities were available (large flat-screen TV, Neutrogena shower products, room service, ice machine).
Finally, other concierges were incredibly friendly and helpful to us along the way. Wes gave us a fabulous recommendation for where to get dinner before the Nets/Clippers game (DeKalb Market). Caroline and Walter (?) were also helpful!
Overall, this is a great hotel if you need someplace to stay in Downtown Brooklyn.

Overall we have a wonderful experience. Me and my family arrived 3 hours early and the front desk was so accommodating and helpful. I don’t hesitate and regret paying an extra $50 for early check-in cause the room was so cozy that my kids love it. The parking lot is just right beside the hotel which is awesome and the breakfast that is included is definitely amazing!!! This will be our to go hotel for now for sure. Thank you Hampton Inn...

Great launch pad for visiting various parts of Brooklyn and easy to get to lower Manhattan. The room was a good size for two people (king size room). Very clean and comfortable as well. We also liked that they left coffee and flavored water accessible at all times in the lobby.

The parking at this location is not the best if you’re traveling with several bags. The garage us next door, and they will more than likely move your car around the corner. The attendants were rude or maybe it was that NY behavior. Food pickings were slim to none. I thought my room would at least have a microwave. Since you can’t move your car without paying $40 buck you are stuck. This place would be much nicer with an in house restaurant. Breakfast was average. Overall the was ok. If you must stay here plan ahead for food!

Dear Kevin W, Thank you for choosing to stay with us this September, and we appreciate your feedback. While we do ensure parking for all of our travelers through a third-party parking garage, we understand that it might not be the experience that you're used to at other Hampton Inns. While traffic can be taxing, our guests are always welcome to utilize our loading zone, just in front of our main doors, and then circle the block to find entry into the garage. We hope that you will give our property another chance on a future visit to NYC. In Hospitality, William General Manager
