I stayed at Rugby Gardens for a couple nights in preparation for my brother's wedding. The owners were cordial and the location is a short walk from the bustling Cortelyou road. A reasonable price in a lovely area - and a cute little dog as well!

Rugby Gardens is a gem in the middle of Brooklyn. The owners were gracious. friendly and helpful. The decor is fun and eclectic. Their dog "Ruby is absolutely adorable and friendly. They have a beautiful "Zen" garden in the backyard which beckons for peace and quiet. We had no problem parking, in fact we parked right outside the front door...

Thanks for your lovely review! Though you gave us 5 out of 5 in all criteria - thanks for that!!! -, Trip Advisor gave it an overall 4 out of 5 for some reason. They will not respond to us about this, but I wanted you to know. We look forward to seeing you next time! Sue & Michael

Pleasant room, spotless bathroom, good air conditioner on a very hot night! Great TV and a lovely breakfast with fresh NY bagels and hearty artisan bread. AND the Sue and Michael are delightful hosts with an adorable dog. What more could you ask for in a convenient Brooklyn neighborhood? Linda from Boston

Found a gem in Ditmas Park in an area full of Victorian homes - never would have suspected this in Brooklyn! Sue & Michael Hurwitz (Goldie & Ruby too) were gracious and welcoming hosts and provided information, towels for the beach (even a hat too) and a wonderful breakfast spread. The 3rd floor accommodation was nicely decorated, very comfortable and...

We traveled to New York to attend our daughter's graduation from law school. She actually found Rugby Gardens on the internet and suggested we check it out. We stayed there for three nights and felt right at home. Breakfast each day was delicious with a variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, delicious breads, granola, etc. (my husband especially liked the fish...

I had two great nights at Rugby Gardens. Sue, Michael and Ruby were friendly, and accommodating. My room and bath were spotless, with lots of amenities. The bed was fabulous. The area has alot to offer, and the city is a short train ride away.

A mere 30 minutes from Canal Street in lower Manhattan is Rugby Gardens, a little gem in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn. Located on a tree-lined street, you'd never know you were in a city, yet a half block away you'll find bustling Cortelyou Road, where the subway and loads of great restaurants are located. If you love Victorian, this place is...

The house is very cute, and as clean as can be. Breakfast was simple, but good, with fresh fruit and fresh bread. The hosts were very nice and helpful, so it was pleasant to be there, and they have the cutest dog ever. The double bed was quite small for two and the blow-up bed was not comfortable for my...

This is not a fancy hotel experience, but very clean, comfortable, and friendly. Sue's many years of living in this home means she knows a LOT about the area, and is very gracious about sharing recommendations, arranging for transportation, etc. I traveled with a relative, sharing the two available rooms. The bathroom is a little small, and I'm not sure...

Finding a hotel in Brooklyn is a challenge, particularly in Flatbush. Rugby Gardens Gardens B&B is an ideal alternative. Rooms in the wonderfully restored old frame home are beautiful and comfortable, in fact the whole house is. The breakfast is terrific. It is a very short walk to the restaurants and shops of Coutelyou Rd and the Q subway stop....

“Rooms are adequately furnished with comfortable beds, and a robe to wear to lounge about. One of the owners is an artist and there is artwork throughout the house that gives this B&B an eclectic and welcoming flavor. The rooms are up a few flights of stairs, so you need to be able to navigate stairs to stay here. Enjoy!”
