NU Hotel offers a smart, clean, fresh design along with expert service. Acquaint yourself with this entirely new Brooklyn hotel, conceived to create an authentic travel experience integrated into the fabric of the local landscape. This perfectly positioned Brooklyn NY hotel sits squarely at the intersection of four intriguing neighborhoods:Downtown Brooklyn, home to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the court houses and the offices at Metrotech center.Boerum Hill, where streets are lined with elegant brownstones and French bistros.Cobble Hill, a blend of old world shops and bakeries and gardens.Carroll Gardens, an old-fashioned Italian neighborhood with wide streets, chic restaurants, and antique shops.A design approach intended to appear effortless, combined with a casual attitude, define the hotel, while the beauty and friendly nature of the neighborhoods ensure that guests feel safe and secure as they explore the gems that Brooklyn has to offer. The ambience suggests an artistic local neighborhood refuge providing a unique, insider's experience. The minimalist, loft-inspired rooms include custom furnishings crafted from recycled teak wood, cork floors, environmentally conscious woods, lead-free paints, and organic bedding. Step into this intriguing and exciting new departure from a typical Brooklyn hotel to discover an imaginative new approach to city living -- smart, clean, simple, and, best of all, casual. Simply put, NU is all about you.

Great small boutique hotel with a free breakfast and friendly staff. The room was large for NYC, had nice Le Occitane toiletries and a mini fridge. I especially appreciated the filtered water station in the lobby offering cold and hot water. A lot of hotels that try to be hip

We stayed in Nu Hotel for the first time while visiting our son in Brooklyn. We were very happy with the price, the room, the bed and the quiet of the hotel! Having stayed in several hotels recently I would have to say that this was the most restful sleep we have had!

Mixed feelings about this hotel. Location is good, breakfast is okay but not really included when you are charged a "resort" fee at the end of your stay. (resort in Brooklyn, seriously?). The breakfast room/lobby is a nice big bright space.
Some staff were friendly and helpful,

Dear Paula, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the breakfast experience and that you found our hotel to be amenity rich. I've provided my email below to learn more about any staff members that seemed disinterested or "frosty". This is not a typical observation made by our guests. In reference to the "resort fee" this is our amenity fee. Many competing "independent/boutique" hotels have different ways of charging their guests for internet service, fitness room access, 24 hour coffee/tea/fresh fruit/cookies/sparkling water and a enjoyable breakfasts. NU Hotel provide all of these services for a daily charge. We do not skimp on bath amenities or on providing in room refreshments. The information about this charge is published on our website, our confirmations and in the communications that our third party travel agencies provide. I'm sorry that this was a surprise to you. Every hotel get's mixed review about their bedding. Oftentimes guest tell me that it's the best night sleep they've had in years. gary.desoiza@nuhotelbrooklyn.com

The check-in was efficient and my room was clean and well designed, albeit a bit dark (no recessed lighting). The walls, however, are very thin. I was on the 4th floor in a room that apparently faced a bus stop. I could hear every bus clear as a bell. As people came and left thei

Dear oceanstar9, I'm very sorry to hear that didn't have a restful sleep. This time of year, Downtown Brooklyn (like most of NYC) is at full capacity with corporate and holiday functions and traffic on our main thoroughfare's are congested. We can only wish that our hotel patrons are more courteous (with door slamming) as they make their spirited entrances and exits from the building and that the gridlock (causing the extra city bus noise) would cease earlier in the day. I assure you that NU Hotel's walls were not built to be any thinner than any other modern hotel and we have taken great care to double insulate all of our guestroom city to minimize the noise. I'm actually familiar with the incident that occured with your check in. This is not a common incident. Our front office made a mistake, checking you into a room that was specifically requested by another guest. The situation was resolved quickly and they should not have disturbed you. I sincerely apologize for our staff member's action. Please feel free to contact me again; should you return to Brooklyn. I will make sure that your stay is restful. gary.desoiza@nuhotelbrooklyn.com

Hello, is the mini bar included with the room fee or you have to pay extra?
Hello! The mini bar was not included in the room rate. They gave us for free the consumption because of all the trouble with the room.
