This isn't a B&B. Neither is it some pristine designer place. It is an old building with a lot of character. There is no breakfast. Our room had a small kitchen and fridge. However we chose to eat out. The local bagel shop is great. There is also no reception as such. You will catch Billy the owner when he...

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our US trip. It is a fabulous old brownstone building in a great and safe area within walking distance of all you need (subway, restaurants, shops etc). The Garden Suite is the ground floor of the building and for this area, it is very spacious with lovely period features. It...

This is a terrific alternative to over priced small, stuffy rooms in Manhattan for me. I have stayed here several times over the last two years and each time has been excellent. The rooms are huge with tons of original character of classic brownstones. It is really clean and I suppose because it is 'New York' and people are out...

We couldn't have been happier. Great room, great location. Our own floor for 5 nights with clean, comfortable bed, couch, day bed, dining table, private bath, kitchen, and private deck. One block from the subway 1-2-3 trains let us get all over Brooklyn and Manhattan. and... 1 bk. from Old Brooklyn Bagel... the best way to start a New York...

My husband and I spent 2 nights here. The place was charming. We were on the second floor in the rear so our windows were open and it was very quiet. It is an old brownstone building from the 1800s with carved mantles, decorated ceilings. Yes we did have to share a bathroom with one other room on the floor....

My family was visiting from the San Francisco Bay area, and we stayed in the Parlor Suite at The Sofia Inn, located in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights. This was a great location, close to the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Barclays Center home of the Nets, and Prospect Park. The Sofia Inn is also close to many restaurants, bars, cafes...

The Sofia Inn has friendly and helpful staff. Our Garden Room apartment was amazing and more spacious than expected. The back garden was full of beautiful flowers and wildlife. Three local subway stations were close and many fabulous restaurants available. Ny has so much to see and do that this was one of our best vacations ever. Thanks to the...

The Sophia Inn is a beautiful, old building, but do not let that fool you. It did not occur to me to ask whether or not my room had its own bathroom, but apparently I should have. For some of the rooms the baths are shared, and they smell rank and nasty. I opened the window shutter and it fell...

I am sorry that this particular guest did not enjoy her stay at The Sofia Inn. We made every effort to make her comfortable and happy. We clearly post on our web page the rooms that share a bathroom. She acknowledged in an email seeing this, but stated that she would have liked us to somehow (orally? email?) state that...

Made a reservation here as we decided on short notice to stay overnight in Brooklyn for a family event. Great location just north of Prospect Park and room was nicely appointed. It was a great value and very comfortable for our stay. We would definitely go back.

This is our second visit to New York. A friend suggested that we stay in Brooklyn (we stayed in Manhattan last year) and recommended the Sofia Inn. I am glad we listened to good advice. This lovely hotel is situated in a great neighbourhood, close to restaurants and bars, the new NBA arena (we saw the NETS -totally worth it),...
