This hotel is owned by Holland America and we were on a cruise/tour with HAL and two nights of our tour were at this hotel. We opted to purchase an extra night ( $400 for the two of us!) and come in a day early...More
The hotel is located fairly central in Fairbanks. Rooms are a good size with a separate kitchenette, separate lounge for watching TV, reading and the bed with another TV. Staff were extremely helpful. There are two restaurants with one also serving as a bar. Laundry...More
We stayed here two nights as part of our Princess Rail Tour to Denali. Room was ok with 2 queen beds. Only one guest chair to sit on, no refrigerator in the room, AC worked but barely...we were all hot during the night. Shower had...More
The Westmark is a nice hotel close to downtown with two great restaurants, friendly staff and clean laundromat . Also the tours desk staff was very helpful and friendly. There is a good grocery store a block away.
The Hotel is centrally located in Fairbanks. Rooms were clean and relatively large. Staff at the Hotel were friendly and helpful. This was just a stopover for us before going south to Denali. It is a older Hotel, yet competitive in price.

I suggest visiting Chena Hot Springs...there is a tour van that will pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. You can see moose and maybe a bear along the way. Bring your swim suit. The food at the hot springs is quite good. Another good tour is the Riverboat Discovery...you can take a cab or there is likely a bus that swings by the hotel to pick up guests for the boat trip on the Chena River. Pioneer Park (aka Alaska-Land) is free and quite interesting -- there is a riverboat, a Native village, shops, cafes, places for a picnic. The University of Alaska Museum is a first class attraction too.

We stayed in the North Tower, which is where our cruise line (Holland America) booked us. Not sure how it relates to the other tower but overall very disappointed with this hotel and not up to other standards booked by Holland America. Breakfast EXPENSIVE, with few choices and poor quality. We arrived late in the day and one couple in our party was checked in to a room that had not been cleaned with vomit in the toilet. Management totally non-responsive to our complaints.
