Westmark Fairbanks Hotel is a very old hotel that smells like people once smoked in years ago. The rooms stink. The carpet is dirty. You will want to take some Sandler if staying here. We traveled here booked through Holland American and will not book...More
One block away from skid row. Very expensive breakfast buffet. Restaurant food was very bland. Would never stay here again (or book with Holland America.) Go with Princess, which is owned by the same company, but offers better hotels.
Hotel decor updated. Good size room. Elevators and AC work well and are quiet. Bed very comfortable but both beds had what appeared to be chocolate and makeup on sheets like they had not been throughly cleaned. Low flush toilets very loud and could hear...More
Decent hotel in a fairly marginal location. Adequate rooms. Very good restaurant and bar. Lots of road construction around the hotel and many, many "sketchy" people hanging out nearby. Would not choose this property if I had a choice, but okay for one night preceding...More
This is a nice hotel that we stayed in for 2 nights as part of our Holland America land/sea tour. Our room was nice and clean, but not luxurious. We felt right at home! They have restaurants onsite and we ate at the breakfast buffet...More

I suggest visiting Chena Hot Springs...there is a tour van that will pick you up and bring you back to your hotel. You can see moose and maybe a bear along the way. Bring your swim suit. The food at the hot springs is quite good. Another good tour is the Riverboat Discovery...you can take a cab or there is likely a bus that swings by the hotel to pick up guests for the boat trip on the Chena River. Pioneer Park (aka Alaska-Land) is free and quite interesting -- there is a riverboat, a Native village, shops, cafes, places for a picnic. The University of Alaska Museum is a first class attraction too.

We stayed in the North Tower, which is where our cruise line (Holland America) booked us. Not sure how it relates to the other tower but overall very disappointed with this hotel and not up to other standards booked by Holland America. Breakfast EXPENSIVE, with few choices and poor quality. We arrived late in the day and one couple in our party was checked in to a room that had not been cleaned with vomit in the toilet. Management totally non-responsive to our complaints.
