The hotel has been recently renovated and looks pleasant. The service and breakfast were very good and the staff friendly. However, the room had all sort of issues. Noisy from the street, the bathroom smelled of sewer, the toilet was continuously running, and there was little water pressure in the bathroom sink. We complained to the front desk manager, but we were told that the hotel was overbooked, and they could not move us. So, I had to shut off the toilet water and use ear plugs.
My stay at at Residence Inn Midtown is made excellent by when I go downstrain for breakfast, and see my lovely Jerry Lean. Her sunniness and professionalism communicates clearly how much she loves her job. Girl knows what she's doing!
Had a great stay here, but one of the highlights of my stay was how nice Ms Jerry was each morning at breakfast! Being alone for this business trip, it was nice to see a smiling face each morning to get the day started on a good note! Will for sure be staying here again the next time I make a trip to Savannah!
I want to commend Jerrilyn who runs the breakfast meal for serving a variety of breakfast foods, the cleanliness of the area and her great personality. We have been at this location for over two months waiting for our home to be renovated. She has made our stay enjoyable.
Do not be fooled by the Marriott Residence name! This hotel is a pathetic bearer of that name. The the sorry state of room decor etc being old and tired is. the least of the issues we encountered. The door was broken. You could not enter the room unless you banged in a particular spot (as we found out when we could not enter) an similarly the door would not close from the inside unless banged really hard in another particular spot (not any spot would do for this intricate procedure). I tried to call the desk and then realized the receiver was not connected to the cord and could NOT be connected since the outlet was deformed. The setup of the studio room must have been designed by a cretin. The bed is immediately next to the sink/bathroom area. There is no night light in the bathroom so if you turn on the light, your partner will definitely awaken and if not from the light, then from the Sherman tank noise emitted by the vent which automatically goes on with the light. The bathroom is from the days of...everything was peeling, shower floor was gray, I put a towel inside so I would not have to step on it. We were told that the pool was closed for the day due to a "guest incident", it did not reopen for as long as were were there. The fire pit was covered and not operating. Then there is the scant breakfast, I do not expect a lavish spread but some bread or rolls or bagels or muffins with butter and jam is certainly not to much to ask for...I could go on but I think you get the picture. We cut down our stay and moved elsewhere. Please, management, do not respond how you are so sorry and hope that we will stay with you on our next trip to Savannah. That will NOT happen.…
