Room had obviously NOT been cleaned, after the previous guest had checked out. Crumpled tissue in the bathtub, food on the floor, stains on the pillow cases, cigarettes left on the balcony. Toilet handle was broken, but staff did quickly fix it. In hindsight, I should've just spend the extra money to stay in downtown instead
Don’t stay here. Just sleep in your car if you have to. That’s what I should have done. Very dirty hotel. Carpets looked to be never vacuumed much less scrubbed. Heavy smoke smell throughout that gave my asthmatic son lots of breathing difficulty. Just terrible.
Picked hotel based on price and location. Booked a room a few weeks ago and tried to check in and come to find out it got canceled by manager without any call or email. After reading these reviews, she may have done me a favor.
Don't do it. There are no hot tubs. There is no full breakfast. The rooms are dated and not well maintained. Mold, rust, etc. The hotel smells of cleaning products. I just about broke my neck because the toilet seat was loose. The one bright spot, the staff was wonderful.
You would be better off sleeping in your car. Booked a last minute night here at Clarion since a lot of other places in the surrounding area were either full or ridiculously high priced. I should have read the reviews. I did not. I quickly scanned the photos online and it didn't look too bad so I figured it was okay for 1 night. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! 1st warning hint should have been that they "had plenty of available rooms". The only positive thing I can say is that Charmaine? at check-in was nice and courteous the whole time. I get my room keys. My family and I walk down the hall to our room. I start noticed some of it was in a stage of remodel (painting/missing trim/ect). Based on some reviews I've read since, I wonder how long it's been in "the process of remodeling". Lobby looks decent (which is all I seen when checking in). Back to the hallways. The carpet is very dirty and threadbare some places. The hall has a strange odor (smoke, weed, mold?) At my room door, the key doesn't work. I think I hear a TV. Thinking it was coming from a neighboring room, I try the key again. The door lock clicks from the inside. I head back to report that she must have written down the wrong room number because that room is occupied. She looks puzzled at her computer. According to her info that room is supposed to be empty. She apologizes and gives me a new room # and keys. The room reeks of smoke (maybe weed). Back to the desk. (I should have left but figured I'd give them 1 more chance since those "could have been coincidental mistakes). "Maybe the 3rd time would be the charm" I said. Wrong! On my 3rd attempt, key in hand, I opened the door to find an occupied (or not cleaned) room. The bed is disheveled and is setting crossways in the room. There is a strange sound (almost like snoring) coming from somewhere. I walk far enough to see if the TV was on. It wasn't. I bolted for the door. 🏃I have no idea if someone was passed out sleeping on the floor on the other side of the bed or what that noise was. By this time I'm totally freaked out and DONE. My family returns to the front desk. I report my findings. She apologizes and says "she needs to figure out who is there". 🥺 She asks if I want to check out and have a full refund on my card - which I of course agreed to. (I wouldn't have stayed if she wouldn't refund the money) I found another hotel not far away with an available room. More expensive, but I didn't care. I've stayed at a decent amount of hotels, but none ever gave me the woolies like this Clarion. Did I say run away?? FASTER!!…
Presenting Clarion Inn & Suites by (Last??) Choice Hotels. Black mold on ceiling above shower. Bath towel with permanent stains. In-room coffee that tastes worse than swamp water smells. Cable TV courtesy of the Stone Age, featuring many channels of snow plus a few with pictures with snow in front of images. Fridge that turns your bottle of water to solid ice. Noisy guests. Guests sitting blasting bass-heavy "music" in parking lot outside room, late at night and early morning. Key cards that mysteriously de-magnetize, locking you out of your room (Front Desk confirmed that's a common occurrence).
The hotel was dirty and outdated. There were bugs, rust and overall run down. Extremely disappointed in the Clarion name. I booked it based on the Clarion name and will never make that mistake again. The housekeeping people were extremely nice and helpful but they don’t have much to work with.
Reserved Handicapped King. Not available. Given a king room with a grab bar in tub. Only one elevator in building and Handicapped parking was by elevator. That’s why they got one star. Our room was on rhe opposite side of the complex. A long walk and not very good for limited mobility. Entire computer system down and only one desk clerk. Room was not the cleanest. I walked across room in socks and they turned brown. The hallway carpets need a deep cleaning. Open hide away couch for grand daughters, no sheets or pillows. Picked up phone to call desk. Phone not working! Finally got through on cell phone and was told it would be an hour and we had to get them. We advised them that night that we would not be staying another night. Checked out 5he next morning, computers still down. Promised an emailed invoice within hour. Never happened. Two days later we checked credit card on line. They gave us a credit of $146 then added it back in charging my credit card the original price. Called hotel and clerk would not listen and just said how wrong we were. We still have not received an invoice from the Hotel. Cannot Recommend this Hotel. Be Aware!…
Not the cleanest with stains on the sofa and chair-pictures attached. It was painful to site on the sofa bed because the cushions sank and the frame pressed into our legs. The pillow seatbacks were ripped with the internal stuffing coming out. Breakfast was watered down OJ, bagels, donuts and there was a waffle iron. The location was selected because of the proximity of other vacation activities and to fill in a day between timeshare resort stays.
Checking in was very easy, no issues. We were directed to our room and to be honest outside was very questionable. (There was a man walking around drinking.) Our room was a second floor king corner suite with balcony. Before entering it was apparent this was a older hotel (that is ok, dirty is not). Now to the room itself… room had an odd smell, dirty walls and doors, stained furniture, towel left on balcony, nasty windows, dirty microwave inside and out, stained lamp shades, no pull out bed linens, stained floors…. the list goes on. I did pull back the bed covers and it appeared to have been cleaned and changed but when I checked under the mattress pad for bed bugs (which they were no signs of by the way) there were potato chips on the mattress. We immediately decided to go elsewhere and went to the front desk. The lady that had checked us in was very nice and apologetic. (Although she didn’t seem too shocked) There were no issues with getting a refund. I would most definitely not recommend staying here.…
