This was our 3rd trip to Savannah but our first stay at this hotel. I can say that we’ll never stay at another hotel in Savannah after staying here. The main reason is the location. You’re right in the middle of everything there is to do. If you’re planning on shopping this is a great location to just stop by and drop off bags. The Olde Pink House restaurant is right behind the hotel. Also there’s a public parking garage right behind the hotel. It’s literally about 50 feet from the door and only cost us $33 for 4 day’s parking. No need to pay for the expensive valet. River street is directly across the street. Definitely worth the extra money for the location. Visit Savannah Smiles Piano Bar if you have the chance you’ll have a blast!
The staff couldn't be nicer! Had absolutely NO issues with staff at any time - very helpful and friendly. HOWEVER...there are some issues with our stay. We were on the 7th floor facing the street. The location is quite loud -- every single night there was a very loud car (sounded like an Indy 500 racer!) that blasted down the street around 2am. Woke us up every time. Not the hotel's fault, but should be noted. The room was clean. There are no towel bars on the walls in the bathroom. None. There is no place to hang your bathrobe, no place to hang your towel. There are some small bars underneath the sink to hold the hand towel and the washrag, but that's it. The vent in the bathroom has been disconnected, and the wall switch was covered. I think they opted to heat the mirror instead -- there was no fogging. Sink surface area is relatively small, but OK to work with. The king sized bed was quite comfortable, and the duvet was plenty enough to keep us warm. Good sized pillows and they're nice and fluffy. Lots of drawers available, and the television is quite large. There is a microwave, though we never used it. The small refrigerator was handy, especially for keeping leftovers and water. I wish there was a little more room available on the nightstands. USB charging outlets are available on each side of the lamp at the base. There's a safe available in the closet, and there's plenty of room to hang your stuff. An ironing board with iron is located in the closet. The river view was very nice -- lots of activity, and the walk along the river's edge is definitely something worth doing. The breakfast is fabulous, although we wondered why no grits were ever provided! Curious. Fresh pancakes, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs (hard boiled and scrambled), sausage, biscuits and gray, milk, coffee, tea, english muffins, bagels, toast...fantastic! The elevator experience is odd. Press to go down, and the elevator goes up. Press to go up, and the elevator goes down. The wait time could be several minutes at times, so don't be in a hurry! There's a small workout room on the top "P" floor, and there is access there to the outdoor uncovered pool and hot tub (really nice, and you can bring your drinks up there!). The view from the rooftop is spectacular! There are several areas to hang out there, covered and open, with chairs, lounges and tables. Music is piped. Parking can be expensive using the valet service, so do yourself a favor and just park at the covered public lot next door. It's only a few steps away, and much cheaper! Savannah is a very walkable city, so just park your car and get out to explore. The location of this hotel is just perfect to see many of the sights. I can recommend this hotel as a great place to stay, but bring some earplugs.…
We decided to stop in Savannah on our way home from Florida. We drove down to the riverfront and walked into this hotel. The front desk person was very friendly and helpful. We got a room right away. This hotel was walking distance to many of the things we wanted to see and we would definitely stay here again. If you're not already a member, sign up and you get a slight discount and some bottled water for your room.
A lovely corner room on the 6th floor with a river view. Quiet, comfortable and spacious. Near to everything. Self parking next to the hotel for a reasonable fee (under $10 for our one night stay). Plenty of restaurants within a few blocks. All staff were very welcoming.
Nice place to stay on weekend trip for new years eve. Good walking distance to everything downtown. One street from the river. Everything was simple and needed something that was good for a solo trip.
The location is perfect if you want to spend time on River Street or walk to the squares. The room itself was a bit small for the money, but it is Savannah where everything is expensive. My husband and I enjoyed the little couch with oversized footstool they provided so you could watch tv comfortably without sitting in bed. We made great use of the refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Everything was clean and the shower was spacious (no bathtub). The free breakfast in the morning was impressive. They had pancakes, eggs, sausage, cereal, yogurt, muffins/bagels, fruit and a bunch more. We ate more than our fill! The hotel does have valet parking if you need/want it, however there is a public parking garage right next door (100 East Bryan Street). We didn't mind carrying our own bags, so we saved a considerable amount of money by parking there. We would definitely stay here again!…
I would like to send a special thank you to Tabatha who went above and beyond to accommodate me on my trip. I drive back and fourth from to New York to Florida to visit my son and because of her this will be a staple of my road trips.
Second time we have stayed at this Holiday Inn Express. Nice hotel in a great location. Our room was on 2nd floor looking directly out on the main street. Room was very nice. Hotel staff did a nice job. Will stay here again for sure. Two things to improve on. Valet service had one person working this hotel and hotel across the street. Two days where we had to wait over 30 minutes for the valet to get our car. Housekeeping completely missed our room one day of our stay.
I stayed here for (3) nights with my two sisters for a S.I.S. (sisters in Savannah) getaway from the cold North and to celebrate some holiday cheer. The hotel is in a perfect location for easy access to EVERYTHING! We thought we might have to Uber to a few places and we did not. The hotel lobby is very clean and nice and the rooms also very clean and updated. However, what made our stay at this Holiday Inn Express was the customer service received from (3) employees in particular. Sheila works at the Concierge desk and was very helpful with suggestions and directions. From the first smile received from Brianna at the front desk upon check in I knew she was something special. Always smiling and always telling us to have a good day ladies. Each afternoon, Tabitha, would replace Brianna at the desk and she was equally as special. As we would head out for the night she would genuinely tell us to have a good time and upon our return she always wanted to know all about our night! At a time where help is hard to find and businesses are struggling with their customer service I highly recommend to the management of the IHG properties that you make sure you treat these employees well as you are very lucky and do not want to lose them!…
