Comfortable beds, clean, swimming pool and a hot tub (the hot tub was not fully functional), free parking. Relatively close to the historic district (not close enough to walk there but we could find easily off street parking in the historic district). Good breakfast!
The only thing I did not like was that we particularly asked if the hot tub is working before booking and they said yes. It was not working since days, you could sit it the hot water but no whirlpool

Great place to stay, we were pleasantly surprised at the discounted rate due to the coronavirus in the area, we were pleasantly surprised when we showed up that we were upgraded to a suite at no additional charge. The room was above and beyond our expectations. We would stay again for sure next time we're in the savannah area

The only reason I say “but” is because the location is nowhere near the historic district. Aside from that, it was fabulous.

We checked in with Chelsea. A beautiful woman with a wonderful sense of humor.

The room was super clean. The sheets were soft, and the bed was super comfy. The shower had tremendous water pressure and plenty of hot water. The rooms overall were really very comfortable.

The parking lot has plenty of space, and there is a fire station next door (in case your traveling with kids or elderly).

The continental breakfast is about what you’d expect. Nothing more - nothing less. However, the woman who runs the breakfast is as sweet and genuine as they come.

Would stay again.

While the beds were nice, and the amenities were clean it had some drawbacks that could be addressed, and we should have been discounted for. We stayed five days over the 4th of July weekend;

1. We picked this hotel because it had a pool and a hot tub~ The hot tub was only warmed by children’s pee, and they made zero effort to fix it.
2. This is the first hotel that I ever had to ask for toilet paper, and out of five days we had to ask for toilet paper three times for a family of five. The toilet paper was never taken care of by the housekeeping our entire stay. If you ask for toilet paper they will give you one 500 sheet role. I asked them if there was a toilet paper shortage, and she insisted there was not.
3. Housekeeping got us new towels one day out of five, and the rest we had to ask for them.
4. While the hotel is newer they did not shim or caulk the toilets properly, so they rock on the nice tiles.
5. The smokers put their cigarettes out on the armrests of the chairs out front, so they should add cameras to bust these criminals.
6. They should add two more waffle makers, and two more microwaves. (One microwave) (Two waffle makers) currently.
7. In the room the microwave was in a low cabinet with a fridge that is not large enough for leftovers beyond one person.
8. Not having a sink outside of the bathroom is also a drawback.

On the way home we stayed at a hotel in Chattanooga that was a great example, and even a cheaper price. Always having two roles of TP, and everything looked after without a snide glance. I’d never come back to this hotel, but I do hope they follow these very simple recommendations for future guests.

Room Tip: Ask them if they have a working hot tub, and if they have toilet paper changed out daily.

Dear Casey R, We are indeed making every effort to repair our hot tub and were at the mercy of the pool company to show up and bring the necessary parts to do so. To say we were making zero effort is indeed incorrect, but apologize for the unforeseen issue. I wish I had been notified during your stay that housekeeping was not giving you clean towels and extra toilet paper and could have remedied that during the stay as well. Yes, during covid we did have a toilet paper shortage as guests were taking all toilet paper in the rooms but that is no longer the case. I will remind the housekeepers to put extra in the rooms and thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. I do not know why you did not receive towels during your stay but will look into that as well. We are following local guidelines as far as distancing nd thus have the two waffle makers and one microwave to keep guests spaced as best we can. I do appreciate all of your suggestions and thank you for the review. Sincerely, Barbara Awad GM

The location was very good, not far from the historic district and about 30 minutes from Tybee Island going the other way. Free parking was nice! The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice besides our shower needing an upgrade. Having a mini fridge and microwave was great.

We had to ask for our room to be turned down. The room looked to be thoroughly made up after we asked but in the following days all we got was new towels. We were basically out of toilet paper by the time we checked out. When I got down to make sure no laundry got left under furniture I noticed a yogurt lid wrapper on the floor which was not from us. Breakfast was also grab and go which made it difficult if there was many people down in the breakfast area. I was disappointed because before we arrived we never were told it would be grab and go. Instead of saving money eating breakfast at the hotel we often went out to eat instead due to the limited options. Having a hot breakfast was supposed to be a perk. Front desk staff was not very friendly. Younger, gentleman was staying in the adjacent office to the front desk so it appeared as if no one was there. Did not offer directions of how to even get to our room just handed the card to me and that was it.

I did not feel like this lived up to the usual great Country Inn and Suites standards, it was just ok. Also, there was no cookies, like they usually have.

Dear Magee, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are now able to offer our breakfast again beginning this Monday after local mandates have been lifted . We apologize that the items offered were not hot other than the breakfast sandwiches . I will also address guest service with the front desk agent and housekeeping. Thank you for bringing to my attention.

The hotel was located not far from the downtown district and was a fraction of the costs. It has Free On sight parking unlike some of the downtown places we looked at with parking surcharge in the fees. It was convenient to a nearby shopping center with several restaurant options. The rooms and hotel were very clean and comfortable beds. Pretty much everything we needed for an overnight stay. The only downside was the Covid-19 precautions. The pool and fitness center were closed. There is no buffet breakfast at this time, but they did offer some microwave sandwiches to go which was better than nothing. This place isn’t a fancy resort hotel, but if you’re looking for all the basics away from home in a hotel this place did very well for us.

What a crappy experience all around. We got in exhausted from our drive at 6:00 pm waited in line while an obviously new and undertrained employee worked the desk. We get checked in go up to our room open the door and very clearly the tv is on and there are bags in the bedroom. I shut the door quickly and my husband went back downstairs. We waited in line again and the clerk had to call the manager we were told they weren’t supposed to be in our room and then she had to get on FaceTime with the clerk to walk him through rebooking us. We finally get into the room and it’s ok. Shower is very small and the couch in the sitting area has pieces of leather peeling off. The next morning we go down for breakfast that a lot of reviews say is great. Another disappointment. The waffles were horrible and the machines were hard to work. They had jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches that you could try and use the microwave to heat up. But the microwave was hard to use and the line quickly became overwhelming. The other options were minimal and I was extremely disappointed. Half through me trying to eat a breakfast sandwich that made since my waffle was disgusting a gentleman brought out a pack of bagels that people swarmed. We were there for 3 nights and our room was never cleaned and we had to call and request new towels. We were always gone in the early morning and did not return till later so they would have had plenty of time to even just step in and take out our garbage and replace towels. Then the last night we get back from a walking tour at 9:30pm exhausted and we go to our room and the key wouldn’t work. My husband had to go back downstairs to the desk and the clerk didn’t even ask for proof that he was staying in the room he was trying to get into. Finally able to get into bed we packed up this morning and didn’t even glance at the breakfast. After all these inconveniences and obviously under trained personnel we were never even offered an apology or any type of compensation. We would not stay here again.

Dear Autumn, We apologize for the confusion at check-in with the new employee. Once a week, we do offer hot sandwiches as a breakfast option. Thankfully, we have mostly great reviews for breakfast as we have a wonderful attendant. I apologize for your many disappointments and hope you will visit us again so that we may exceed our expectations. Sincerely, Barbara Awad DOS

So I live 300 miles from here and was coming into town for a family visit and didn't have anywhere to stay due to current corona virus orders. so found this hotel and except for the reeking marijuana smell which they apologized for profusely due to a group of construction workers staying for a couple of days. The room with it's separate living room area was exactly what was needed for my family members to actually come to me and visit. The beds were a little hard but overall very nice and needed vacation.

This hotel was very nice. I did not really like the location but the hotel it self was very nice. It was no perfect, and of course you see thinks that need improvement, but overall, a nice room with friendly, helpful staff. I especially liked the room lay out because it allowed me to work while my husband relaxed in the bedroom with the door closed. That was great for me. The water pressure in the shower was also a perk for me because there was no bath tub to step into. I did feel that the facility should have a better cleaning routine. We were provided fresh towels and trash removal daily, however,an occasional deep clean to maintain this great facility would be appropriated.

Well there's the hotel itself and then there's the service. Technical issues caused a check in delay. I suspect it was corporate, so it's not something to blame the location for; however, the lack of communication and information during the check in process is a different story. We were told everything was "down." So there was that, but from that point on, the communication was ... absent. At some point, I got a call to come down and sign something with zero explanation. Despite three requests to link the stay to my points account, it never happened. No bill provided at check out.

The hotel itself was fine, if by fine, you want a bed to sleep in and some lamps etc. We found the bathroom to be less than standard clean. Lipstick on a pig is a good way of putting it. Rust and water stains, some of which had been poorly painted over. A lack of generaly cleanliness around the sink and in the shower was unfortunate. We found the sitting room furniture to be a step below dormitory common room furniture in terms of comfort and appeal. Some outlets were not functioning. Missing lightbulb. Bed was fine. Noise level was not optimal.

On check out, the issues were reported. The response: blank stare followed by "I can't print your receipt. It will be emailed to you." It wasn't.

Some staff training and a thorough cleaning and sprucing would make this an adequate property. But you can't do 6 brush strokes in the bathroom and call it a day.

Dear Triptip Dad, Thank you for reviewing our hotel. We apologize for the concerns that you shared. Yes we are having a rust issue in the humid environment. Although we have dehumidifiers in every room, we find that they are continually being turned off by the guests due to the low level noise they cause. Our paint provider is currently working with us to help find a solution. The recommended paint is unfortunately not available at this time but we want our guests to know wee are aware and working on the issue. We will work with our all new staff on better communication. I am not sure how you booked the room but if through a third party, they give the receipt to you via email but again, this information should be communicated to you. The furniture is all chosen by corporate but we will share your input as to their choices. again, we will work with our all new HK staff as to a better and proper cleanliness and appreciate your input. Thank you for your very detailed and much appreciated review as we will make changes to the issues within our control. Sincerely, Barbara Awad DOS

Hello, We do not have a complimentary shuttle from our hotel to the historic district. However, we have partnered with one of the local trolley companies and if you book their tour, they will pick you up at a certain time and bring you back. Please call us directly for more information.

You're a quick 10 minute ride to the 'historic/sightseeing area. Hotel has 2-3 brochures, etc regarding that subject. Suggest you stop at main tourist information center in the district. Everything is pretty much within walking distance and safe to do so. You can also find free parking on many of the streets (read the signs). Enjoy it's terrific!
