I arrived in the middle of a festival so, it was hard getting to the hotel. Valet was very quick once I got in. The check in process was quick and fairly easy. However, there are two sets of elevators in the building . The one elevator right behind check in takes you to suites while, tucked around the corner...

I reserved and pre-paid for a room for one night at this hotel. The woman at the check-in counter gave me a room with 2 beds even though I had requested 1 bed. I was put off by her attitude and she told me that was it. All I can say is that it was the smallest room jammed with...

Perfect Spring weekend in Savannah for a concert. The location was within walking distance of everything we needed/wanted to see. The old city market is behind the hotel and riverfront walkway is in front of the hotel. We are a fan of boutique hotels and the Hotel Indigo. We walked to dinner and on to the concert. Never moved our...

My husband and I were in Savannah and were fortunate to have booked 2 nights in the hotel Indigo. Location is on West bay St...One Street above the river walk. West bay is an extremely busy street with lots of trailer trucks using it. We had a ground floor Street side room and heard nothing. Our room was a decent...

We approached this hotel for a walk in after our previous hotel hadn't worked out. They gave us a great rate and an even better room. We had a 4th floor riverview king suite which was very nice, it was very well presented and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities good. This hotel is well placed for...

My husband and I recently visited Savannah and stayed at the Hotel Indigo for the first time. This newly renovated hotel is beautiful. The decor is lovely, the rooms are very clean and comfortable and the location can't be beat. Stepping out of this hotel, you are right in the heart of the most active parts of the city and...

Very nice and clean. All the contemporary amenities, but with touch's of the original building. You must stop by and have Jason mix up one of his authentic cocktails. My husband especially loved that he makes whiskey sours the real old fashioned way. I love the "Fastbender". The beds are comfortable, staff is nice

Rooms were clean and beds were comfy, but we reserved a 2 bed room and when we got there at 10:30 at night the room was a mess and so we were put in a closet with a single queen bed, because they were sold out. We had our kids with us; they had to sleep with a family member....

besides a great location close to the action along the riverwalk and city market, the hotel is a great value and the hotel staff is efficient and friendly. within minutes, you are exploring restaurants in 'town', or watching a sunset overlooking the river from one of several rooftop bars.

Great location for walking around historic Savannah. Easy check in with very friendly staff. Valet parking convenient and no need to drive once parked. Room was comfortable. Our dog traveled with us. Savannah is dog friendly. No refrigerator in rooms.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect mix of old and new. Our building—known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay" due to her sweeping size—was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned historic district. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located right next door. Then embark on one of the many fascinating tours Savannah has to offer; at least five of the city's iconic squares are located within roughly five blocks of our front door. Learn about the city's storied past before making your way down original cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food in restaurants that were once historic warehouses. ... more   less
