This is a great hotel, very close to all amenities but they are severely lacking in customer service. Went for breakfast 2 mornings in a row and both was diasterous, food was cold long wait just to get coffee, people we're lined up to get in yet tables were available. Very short staffed. People were complaining all around us. Our...

My wife and I spent $440 on a one night stay. We enjoyed the Chaka Khan concert. You pay more for a great location. All the tourist areas are within walking distance. The breakfast was first class. We will be back.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels for business and pleasure. Both domestically and abroad. Seldom, if ever, have I taken the time to express my disappointment like this. When booking our trip to Savannah (pleasure this time), I felt comfortable with an IHG property and more specifically with the Indigo brand, as I have stayed at others and had...

Aakash accommodated us in every way. We had issues with an Airbnb and we had NO trouble with our room here. He was even friendly enough to get us drink vouchers after hearing our horror story with Airbnb. I cannot speak more highly of his professionalism and kindness. The maintenance staff has speedy responses and is very friendly. The hotel...

Check in isn't until 4pm, my husband and I pulled up at noon and we were able to check in early...without having to downgrade our room. Room was clean and comfy. Rooms are on the smaller side but you need to remember the building is over 100 years old. Everyone from the valet to the concierge were nothing but friendly...

Our Suite was not ready for check-in until 5pm. No apology given by management. When we finally got to the room there were signs of debri/ peanut shells throughout on the floor. A few more to list but not enough characters left.

The original hotel was built in 1888 and immediately burnt down in 1892. The new structure, built on the same spot was erected sometime afterwards. Great location; Valet parking is available. The hotel has been recently refurbished. The rooms are excellent, large and sound proof. The beds are soft with lots of pillows. The bathrooms are new with large walk-in...

I arrived in the middle of a festival so, it was hard getting to the hotel. Valet was very quick once I got in. The check in process was quick and fairly easy. However, there are two sets of elevators in the building . The one elevator right behind check in takes you to suites while, tucked around the corner...

I reserved and pre-paid for a room for one night at this hotel. The woman at the check-in counter gave me a room with 2 beds even though I had requested 1 bed. I was put off by her attitude and she told me that was it. All I can say is that it was the smallest room jammed with...

Perfect Spring weekend in Savannah for a concert. The location was within walking distance of everything we needed/wanted to see. The old city market is behind the hotel and riverfront walkway is in front of the hotel. We are a fan of boutique hotels and the Hotel Indigo. We walked to dinner and on to the concert. Never moved our...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect mix of old and new. Our building—known to locals as the "Grand Lady on the Bay" due to her sweeping size—was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house and shop, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940s and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in a vibrant Ellis Square setting that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned historic district. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located right next door. Then embark on one of the many fascinating tours Savannah has to offer; at least five of the city's iconic squares are located within roughly five blocks of our front door. Learn about the city's storied past before making your way down original cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food in restaurants that were once historic warehouses. ... more   less
