Beautiful country for hiking, birding, dining and enjoying the pristine air. Lodge is perfectly rustic with a helpful staff. The surrounding area has much to offer, observatory, dining in Ft. Davis and Alpine, trail rides and amazing sunsets.

The Indian Lodge in the Davis Mountains State Park is a popular destination for visitors and offers stunning views from the many balconies. The older section of the lodge is built in adobe style with kiva fireplaces (nonfunctional). And the newer section has been built to model the older part. My suggestion is to book a room on the upper...

Many friends have encouraged us to stay at Indian Lodge. We finally were able to carve out an extra day for our annual Big Bend area visit. Lodge was originally built before WWII. Made of local mud brick and adobe-like cement exterior. Modernized several times over the years. Rooms very comfortable, with TV. Restaurant currently closed for renovations. Part of...

The parks dept does a great job of keeping up this historic CCC lodge. It's age shows in a few minor areas, but is otherwise a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are cozy and the bathrooms updated. Our room (124) had an amazing view of the valley. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful every time. And the...

The last time I stayed here I was over 40 years ago, though it would be great to take my wife there now. And was pleasantly surprised to see how well it has been kept up and still has it's charm. A must see and stay if you are in the Fort Davis Aera.

I CANNOT WAIT TO STAY HERE AGAIN... I'm in withdrawal right now. This may be the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed at. We arrived late in the evening, and the drive up to the lodge was stunning. It appeared from behind the hills like a jewel. The views the next day were just as good. The siting, nestled among...

Beautiful scenery, clean rooms, and nice staff. Rooms were nice and quiet. Location was not too far from town. Nice place to hike and explore. You can camp but we stayed in the historic hotel. Only downfall is no WIFI in all of the rooms.

10 stars for location!!!! Indian Lodge, originally constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (google CCC and read how America put a generation of young men to work, trained and educated them, and built an enduring legacy) sits within the historic Ft Davis State Park. The Lodge is beautiful - in a much subdued Southwestern hacienda style of the great American...

Very nice place to visit. Rooms are excellent and lots of hiking trails in area. We went for the New Year weekend. You need to reserve almost a year in advance because of popularity at that time of year. Worth the trip!

Located close to the McDonald Observatory, a worthy place to visit, the Indian Lodge is part of the Davis Mountains State Park. We found its southwest design and white adobe architecture to be warm and friendly. It fits right into the natural surroundings. The rooms were comfortable and the wood ceilings and beams gave them real charm. There is plenty...
