This hotel was excellent, from the outside appearance to the guest room itself. Everyone was pleasant, room was very clean and check in/check out time worked out great for us due to the ice storm delaying our road trip. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here overnight when I grew tired on a long drive. I didn’t expect to stop in this town nor had I ever been. I usually don’t like to stop in unfamiliar towns because I am a very small girl who travels alone. I was unprepared with skipping dinner and just needed a place to rest. I went down to the front desk and asked the lady (working alone, seemed to be running the place herself) for some food suggestions. She gave me a pamphlet and I started calling. A lot of places were closed because it was so late. I went down again to ask for help and she sat down with me and helped me get exactly what I needed, she ended up calling and ordering for me since my phone was having issues. She is super awesome to give up so much time to help a customer! The hotel was very nice and the room was comfortable (except I thought I was going to be visited by a ghost from the battle of Gettysburg so it kept me up at night!)

Three stars for the good: 1. Staff: Service was friendly and fast 2. Cleanliness: Room was clean and comfortable, furnishings and linens were nice 3. Pool: Pool and hot tub were enjoyable and seemed well kept (pool was cooler than expected but not freezing - kiddo certainly enjoyed it. Hot tub was very spacious and warm) Two stars docked for the not-so-good: 1. Disorganized management: -website and in person information seemed to conflict with each other. My confirmation email said checkout was 10, the sheet handed out by the receptionist said noon. (We stuck with 10 to be on the safe side.) -website said you can order room service meals. The number listed was for the hotel bar which turned out to be not in service, and when we called the hotel restaurant they told us they do not offer room service. -as relatively healthy eaters we were excited to see the online menu list things like quinoa salad and roasted spaghetti squash. We went down to the restaurant to dine in on the first night and discovered that the menu was completely different from what was posted online. Offerings weren’t too bad at least; we had salads and split a Beyond burger. 2. Odd cost-cutting measures: -I was surprised they had a standing shower only and no tub, and even for that, the design of the shower was very odd - with just a half wall of glass and no door or curtain so the water will just splash out the far end as you stand there getting clean (the bathroom door did show signs of water damage). Our bathroom seemed handicap-friendly but I think wheelchair-bound people would also be interested in keeping the running water inside the shower -Last but not least no microwaves or fridges in the rooms. I’ve been in a hotel with shared communal microwaves before, so that’s not a big deal, but at that other one there were at least two microwaves per floor. Here, there is one for the entire building, down by the reception desk… And for such a fancy-ish chain hotel, I was surprised there wasn’t at least a little cube fridge in the room. The lack of a fridge is probably my #1 gripe, as we had brought some food and condiments for ourselves and had to rely on our little cooler. Overall our stay wasn’t terrible but I don’t think I would come here again.

I am a physician providing on-call services at the local hospital for 48 hours. Reservations made but when I asked to check in early, was told it was $25 extra. Was the room available and clean, I asked? Yes, it was. So why can't I occupy it, I need to rest to be able to respond to on-call emergencies? Nothing they could do, it was "policy." Instead, my choice was to wait 7 hours in the noisy lobby. I got in touch with Wyndham. They are deeply sorry...and someone will get back to me in a week. How does that help me? If the room was not available or was dirty, I could understand. If I couldn't check in until 10 or 11, I understand. But to pay a surcharge of $25 for this? Unacceptable. I get it, it isn't like we are in a pandemic and need our healthcare providers fresh....

We enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham. It was located close to all Gettysburg activities we planned on attending. The room and bed were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the indoor pool. The staff was professional but friendly and knowledgeable of the area.
