We stayed at lightner farmhouses Oct 29th to Nov 1st. Eileen, Dennis and Jason where very accommodating and friendly. The house was very clean and breakfast was outstanding. They were very informative about the history of Gettysburg and the paranormal. I highly recommend staying if you plan to visit Gettysburg! Thank you Eileen ,Dennis and Jason for a great vacation!!...

My wife and 2 grand-daughters had a 1 night stay here recently during a quick trip through Gettysburg, but I wish we had more time to enjoy this B&B. It's a beautifully historic civil war era house which the current owners have presented well with modern conveniences. The Owners are not only gracious hosts, but enjoy sharing the historical background...

This was our second visit to Gettysburg and The Lightner Farmhouse and our very first opportunity to see the area during the cool autumn weather of October. On our last visit, in the summer of 2014, we stayed in the Birch Room and this time we chose the Oak Room rumored to be haunted by Isaac Lightner. The room was...

Stayed two nights in the walnut cottage for a wedding in Gettysburg. Did not want to stay in a chain hotel in town, this was a perfect choice for not that much more money .Friendly owners, nice clean room. Sat out on the porch enjoying a cold beverage enjoying a crisp fall night. The only thing that could make this...

Thanks Scott. Come back next year and the fire pit will be open. We are already working on it.

Stayed at Lightner Farmhouse on a recent trip to Gettysburg, at least in part because my wife (a Lightner) is likely related somehow to the farmer who built the house in 1862. This was a nice place with homey rooms and a nice if cramped bathroom/shower. The innkeepers were nice and friendly people, the breakfast was good, and coffee/tea and...

We stayed 2 nights in the walnut cottage and will definitely be returning with our kids next time! The Hoover family could not be more gracious friendly warm informative and welcoming! The breakfast is scrumptious and if you don't leave full that is on you because my husband and I left full and satisfied and able to skip lunch. The...

Our family stayed in here in June and had a wonderful time. The host were very friendly and inviting. We stayed on the very top floor of the home and found it to be very comfortable. Loved the garden and the home was around the corner from everything. It's not walkable but within a 10 min drive to the main...

My wife and I spent our first wedding anniversary at the farmhouse and we couldn't be happier. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast. The Hoover's are amazing people and showed us great hospitality as if we were part of the family. The farmhouse is full of history and character. We will return and recommend.

Good welcome, nice room, cookies and coffee available all day. Hot and cold breakfasts were adeqate, A historic property built just before the battle of Gettysburg so plenty of interest in the house and surrounding area and the Innkeepers were very helpful in explaining it all.

My husband and I stayed at the Lightner farmhouse for 2 nights and it was wonderful. We stayed on the 3rd floor which was two rooms. The place was so clean and so well decorated. I loved the floors and the original wooden beams. Even though it is a very old house, the updated things such as air conditioning fit...

We are so glad you appreciated our quiet, outside of town location. It is exactly why we choose the property 12 years ago. The Pine Tree Suite is the room I jokingly call the Penthouse Suite because it sits at the top of the house and I agree it is quiet and cozy. Please come again when you can!
