We visited Lightner Farmhouse for one night on 13 October 2016. From the moment you turn off the main road, you can feel the history and atmosphere that surrounds this historic farmhouse. We were made very welcome by the hosts Eileen and Dennis and introduced to the history and setting of the establishment. We chose to stay in Walnut Cottage...

Part of the joy of innkeeping is meeting people from all over the world. It's great to get different perspectives and learn more about other cultures. Thanks for choosing us.

Really enjoyed staying here, the owners were pleasant, the grounds were well worth a wander in, the room was lovely and we enjoyed having a porch to sit out on. We laughed at the leopard print gown and enjoyed all of it. we didn't get to see any ghosts, but that was fine too, we did get to meet the...

Really liked this B and B. The owners were friendly and very helpful. The rooms were comfy and the breakfast tasty. Only downside was that, being an old house, it was fairly noisy. Others patrons could be heard on the stairs, etc

My wife and 2 grand-daughters had a 1 night stay here recently during a quick trip through Gettysburg, but I wish we had more time to enjoy this B&B. It's a beautifully historic civil war era house which the current owners have presented well with modern conveniences. The Owners are not only gracious hosts, but enjoy sharing the historical background...

This was our second visit to Gettysburg and The Lightner Farmhouse and our very first opportunity to see the area during the cool autumn weather of October. On our last visit, in the summer of 2014, we stayed in the Birch Room and this time we chose the Oak Room rumored to be haunted by Isaac Lightner. The room was...

Stayed two nights in the walnut cottage for a wedding in Gettysburg. Did not want to stay in a chain hotel in town, this was a perfect choice for not that much more money .Friendly owners, nice clean room. Sat out on the porch enjoying a cold beverage enjoying a crisp fall night. The only thing that could make this...

Thanks Scott. Come back next year and the fire pit will be open. We are already working on it.

Stayed at Lightner Farmhouse on a recent trip to Gettysburg, at least in part because my wife (a Lightner) is likely related somehow to the farmer who built the house in 1862. This was a nice place with homey rooms and a nice if cramped bathroom/shower. The innkeepers were nice and friendly people, the breakfast was good, and coffee/tea and...

We stayed 2 nights in the walnut cottage and will definitely be returning with our kids next time! The Hoover family could not be more gracious friendly warm informative and welcoming! The breakfast is scrumptious and if you don't leave full that is on you because my husband and I left full and satisfied and able to skip lunch. The...

Our family stayed in here in June and had a wonderful time. The host were very friendly and inviting. We stayed on the very top floor of the home and found it to be very comfortable. Loved the garden and the home was around the corner from everything. It's not walkable but within a 10 min drive to the main...
