My husband and I recently spent four nights at Spruce Hill Manor. The accomodations were wonderful and the service was extraordinary. Snacks were always available and there were many delicious choices for breakfast. Janet was very friendly and helpful and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. She offered to drive us to restaurants and museums, accomodated...

My wife and I just returned from a weekend in Philadelphia and we stayed at the wonderful Spruce Hill Manor. We often travel to bed and breakfasts and this was one of the best we've ever visited. The building is beautiful and lovingly maintained, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the food delicious. Janet was a wonderful host, even...

Our family of 5 stayed at the Spruce Hill Manor. Janet met us on arrival and made us feel very welcome from the minute we entered the B&B. I say B&B - it's more like a home from home. I would thoroughly recommend the Spruce Hill Manor - and Janet in particular who was an excellent host. The house is...

My husband and I spent our first anniversary at Spruce Hill Manor, and we were delighted with the care and comfort we received during our stay. Janet was the perfect hostess, offering tips for getting around the city and providing a lovely spread for breakfast. She was extremely personable, yet we felt that we still had plenty of privacy. The...

Yes, Janet is an exceptional host. We arrived quite late in the afternoon and wanted to go downtown so that we could get a flavor of Philadelphia and have dinner. Janet drove us downtown, which was very nice . But she did more. She actually toured us around in the city and treated us with a tourist drive .Can you...

The superlatives you read in these reviews are true. the physical location is beautiful, but Janet takes service to new levels of graciousness. This home is filled with beautiful antiques and art which infuse the experience with a sense of life from another time. My room, the Billie Holiday room, was quiet, clean and completely comfortable. Janet brings seemingly endless...

We chose Spruce Hill Manor due to its location and proximity to University City. However, Janet's warm welcome and the beautiful accommodations make it a must-stay in Philadelphia. We were warmly received and taken care of. The queen room is very spacious and nicely decorated. We highly recommend it as a place to stay in Philadelphia.

We had the good fortune to stay here for two nights during a quick visit to Philly. The neighborhood is beautiful and convenient to downtown and public transportation. Surprisingly there was no noise despite the location near Center City and a main thoroughfare with a trolley line. The propietor, Janet, was warm and welcoming. She was extremely accommodating and helped us...

Just can't say enough about Janet and her B and B, Spruce Hill Manor. Janet is a warm and gracious host and is willing to help her guests with any special need. Her immaculate and beautifully decorated rooms are equipped with all the essentials. The dining room has many delicious choices for breakfast and snacks. The Spruce Hill backyard is...
